Real Madrid keep seeking a left-back to replace Fabio Coentrao this summer. PSV Eindhoven’s Jetro Willems is the last man added to the list, according to Dutch magazine Voetbal International.

This magazine has reported Manchester City and Los Blancos have sent scouts to watch the 20-year-old in a game against Feyenoord. However, this doesn’t mean he’s the first option for Florentino Perez.

Los Blancos directors are determined to find a new back-up for Marcelo, since Fabio Coentrao hasn’t performed at the expected level this season. They are looking for a young, talented left-back, and the first option is Valencia’s Jose Luis Gaya. Yet, that transfer seems complicated, since the Ches are trying to get Gaya to sign a contract extension.

Bayern Munich’s David Alaba and AC Milan’s Mattia De Sciglio are also among the candidates to become the next Los Merengues left-back. Both of them have more options to end up at the Santiago Bernabeu than Willems, at least for now.

Willems moved to PSV from Sparta Rotterdam back in 2011. Since then, he has made 132 appearances for the Eredivisie side, scoring seven goals. He has also made his debut for Netherlands national team, having played 13 games so far for the senior team.
