Real Madrid players have travelled to Miami to face the first friendly games of the season. The first one will arrive on Tuesday evening against Manchester United in the capital of Florida. For this reason, Julen Lopetegui spoke for the very first time in front of the press and he was asked about the possible signings and the work done by the squad so far.

And the first feelings about this team and this squad are positive according to the manager because the players are working hard: “So far I’m pleased because we haven’t had any problem in terms of injuries and we have trained 20 sessions”.

The most important piece of news for Los Blancos were Cristiano Ronaldo’s departure, but now the new star is Gareth Bale: “Our acknowledgement to one of the best players in Real Madrid history, and the club valued his legacy by letting him go. We are convinced that Bale will do a great season and we expect a lot from him. We will work so he can be at his best”.

Perhaps, with Cristiano’s exit, Los Blancos need another striker: “We have six excellent signing pending: Ramos, Varane, Modric, Kovacic… We are pleased with the squad we have and convinced that we can fight for all the goals, as we have to do with Real Madrid. We want to be a team in the pitch. If no player comes or leaves, I will be a happy coach.”, Lopetegui said.

The manager also spoke about Keylor Navas, who should have more competition this year if Thibaut Courtois finally arrives: “I spoke with him and we are happy to have him on board. No more to comment. Keylor has been very important in the last season and we want to continue like this”.

Finally, the manager spoke about the possibility or the challenge to continue with the success: “We have to look for more, try to win always and this is what we do so the team continues improving and try to have the tools for this challenging season. Real Madrid history doesn’t allow anything else”, the manager finished.
