Real Madrid press report 14-11-13

There are no La Liga games this week and that means Madrid sports newspapers have to come up with senseless front pages due to the lack of Real Madrid news.

Marca’s main headline today is “The professor is back,” in a reference to Xabi Alonso -who had probably never been called a professor before- returning to Spanish national team to play two friendlies against Equatorial Guinea and South Africa.

“He will take Spain’s lead,” they claim. “Alonso has changed Real’s image and he returns to bring some consistency to La Roja,” they add.

The other main Madrid sports daily highlights in its front page the fact that Cristiano Ronaldo would win the Golden Boot if the season ended now; a very “clever” approach taking in account that we have barely had two months of competition.

“Cristiano Golden Boot,” As titles, pointing out “he leads Europe’s top goal scorers list over Valskis and Diego Costa.”

On other news, Marca also publishes a picture of former Real Madrid defender and assistant coach Aitor Karanka in his unveiling as Middlesbrough manager. “Welcome Aitor,” they title.
