Real Madrid nailed the first victory of the season (1-3) in their debut in La Liga at Balaídos with a convincing triumph over Celta de Vigo. Los Blancos, despite playing with ten players most of the game, knew how to defend and played as a team. After a terrible pre-season, Zidane found his way to involve all the key players and now they are leading the table, with 3 points advantage over Barcelona, who lost on Friday evening at Bilbao.

Zinedine Zidane said in press conference that he count on Bale and James Rodríguez for the season. And the Frenchman didn’t lie because the Welshman started the game and the best footballer of the pitch. If Real Madrid want to achieve great results this season, both will be important because they have the quality needed. Also, Hazard absence helped Bale to find a spot in the line-up, as Vinicius Junior did.

Gareth Bale was very important to start the game in advantage. He gave the assist to Karim Benzema, who opened the scoreboard in the 12th minute. Los Blancos suffered a bit, especially with Odriozola, who was unable to defend his side. Besides, it didn’t help that Luka Modric was sent off, totally unfair again. However, Real Madrid played together, as a team, to nail the first victory. It was also easier because Toni Kroos scored a great goal with a rocket from outside the box.

Luka Jovic also made his debut replacing Karim Benzema and Lucas Vázquez had his minutes. The Spaniard, always important for Zidane, scored the third goal in the last minutes of the game. Only Losada was able to beat Thibaut Courtois, who had a lot of work on Saturday and was key for the victory. Real Madrid start with good pace in La Liga in a very tough stadium where they lost so many times.
