Real Madrid defender Sergio Ramos has described Carlo Ancelotti as being a ‘great coach’, as the Italian moves ever closer to a switch from PSG to the Bernabeu.

With Jupp Heynckes confirming he will retire frim the game altogether after leading Bayern Munich to the treble, Ancleotti now appears to have the path clear for him to take over at the helm.

After guiding PSG to their first French championship title in 19 years last month, Ancelotti made it known that he would like to leave the cub.

Speaking to ABC.es, Ramos said Ancelotti would be a good fit for Real Madrid.

He stated: “I’m not one to say which I prefer but Ancelotti is a great coach. But I do not decide – club officials will.”

The central defender also spoke about Jose Mourinho’s departure saying the chapter was now closed. He added that he was not surprised at the news the Portuguese boss had returned to his former club Chelsea.

“It is not new that Mourinho likes Chelsea and Inter. He has always opted for them. He returns to the Premier League and I think the Premier League is the competition for him.

“The matter is now closed with his exit. As in big families, there have been good times and bad.”
