Carlo Ancelotti: I want to see consistency

Real Madrid boss Carlo Ancelotti has called on his players to show consistency having found their form in La Liga at the weekend.

Los Blancos take on Elche at the Santiago Bernabeu tonight coming off the back of an 8-2 win over Deportivo La Coruna at the weekend. The team has two wins and two defeats from their opening four games and Ancelotti told a press conference he wants his players to be more consistent.

“When the club, the players and the fans are untied it is much easier to fight for our goals. Last year, having those three elements united helped us to win and that is why we won. We have reacted well. Against Elche we will be tested again and I want to see consistency in our play and our results,” he told reporters.

He said despite scoring eight times on Saturday afternoon, there is still plenty of room for improvement, particularly in defence. Los Blancos have looked shaky at the back at times this season, and have conceded in every league game so far.

“The result against Deportivo was very good, but we can’t let that fool us because we still have a lot to improve in terms of our play. We had the same problem last year, but this time our attacking play has been much better. We need to improve in defence, but I think we are stronger in every aspect at the back compared to this time last year,” Ancelotti stated.
