Álvaro Morata

Manchester United deal with Álvaro Morata was almost done and even José Mourinho called the player to convince him to join the Red Devils. However, Real Madrid didn’t want to accept an offer about €75M from the striker and United finally decided to sign Romelu Lukaku for £75m plus £15m in add-ons. Besides, Wayne Rooney rejoins Everton in a shocking weekend.

It was especially shocking for Álvaro Morata, who was decided to go to Old Trafford. Even his father and his agent, Juanma López, went to the Santiago Bernabéu offices to show an offer from Manchester, but it was finally reject. Even after this blow, Morata is willing to leave the club and he has now another option: Chelsea.

According to Diario As, Chelsea are willing to offer up to €80M, including adds-on. Real Madrid don’t want to let him go for less than €90M, especially because Zinedine Zidane wants to have him on board. Antonio Conte wants Morata to replace Diego Costa in his team and try to fight for the Champions League title after one year of absence. However, the deal won’t be easy, taking in consideration the differences between the two clubs.

It will be easier with the player. They should agree on a four or five year deal and his salary will be raised up to €6M per year. Morata will have the opportunity to join a big club and have minutes fighting for titles, his goal at this point of his career. If he misses Chelsea opportunity, it will be hard to find another club during the transfer market.

He had a lot of offers from Serie A teams, but the Italians clubs have less money and their projects are less interesting. For instance, AC Milan pushed a lot to sign him, but the team is not even playing the Champions League this season. Morata’s experience in the Italian football and his recent wedding with the Italian model Alice Campello could give chances to a transfer to the Serie A.

Álvaro Morata has to rejoin the team this Monday, because Real Madrid go back to work on the 10th of July. On Tuesday they’ll have to travel to the United States and we don’t know yet if the striker will be on that plane. At least, he’ll have to see face to face Zinedine Zidane and talk about his future.
