The Forbes magazine has published the ranking with the highest paid athletes in the world. Every year, this prestigious magazine take in consideration several factors to evaluate and make the list.

According to Forbes, Cristiano Ronaldo is the world highest paid sportsman. He earnd a total of 77,2 M€ and overpassed Floyd Mayweather who was at the top last year but retired from boxing.

After Cristiano Ronaldo, Leo Messi is the highest earner with 71,3 M€ and Lebron James, 67,7 M€. Roger Federer is the fourth in this ranking with 59,5 M€. The third footballer we can find in the ranking is Neymar, in the 21st position, earning 32,9 M€. Zlatan Ibrahimovic is below Neymar with 32,8 M€ and Gareth Bale is in the 25th position with 21,5 M€. Sergio Agüero is fifth in the footballer’s ranking, earning a total of 21,5 M€.

In the top-10 list we can find other athletes like Kevin Durant, Novak Djokovic, Cam Newton, Phil Mickelson, Jordan Spieth or Kobe Bryant, who is about to retire. So there are two footballers, three basketball players, two tennis players, two golf professionals and one NFL player.

This ranking take in consideration not only the salary but all the money earned in advertising and several other contacts.

Forbes is the prestigious magazine that every year makes several rankings to know who are the richest people in the player. They are able to divide it by country or by profession. Cristiano Ronaldo is able to lift his third Champions League trophy in 2016 and he is also in the top of the list of the highest earners in the world.

  1. Los Blancos should go for Harry Kane if Danny Levy could be engaged to strike a good deal, given his age and potential to improve at a considerable margin, I think he’s the man to go for. Casemiro must be a mainstay if Madrid must build on cohesion and achieve greater balance, casemiro must be allowed regular full minutes to blend more with the team
