Carlo Ancelotti has said he and his players don’t feel under pressure despite knowing they could lose first place in La Liga temporarily if Barcelona win this weekend.
The Catalans will overtake them in the race for La Liga should they win before Los Blancos take on Elche on Sunday night – something that would crank up the pressure on the 10-time European Cup champions what with their indifferent form so far in 2015.
But speaking at a press conference ahead of his side’s game, Ancelotti said everyone within the club was calm and knew what they need to do to regain their play at the top of the table.
“It’s going to be an intense game played at a high pace. Elche have improved their play in the last fifteen days. They’re well organised and confident. It’s a difficult game for us at the end of week in which we’ve done well and we want to complete well in the game tomorrow,” he said.
And he added: “We don’t feel under pressure. The only pressure we have is playing a difficult game. We know that by winning it, we’ll remain top of La Liga. That’s our objective for the game tomorrow.”
