Real Madrid will pay a visit to Elche at Martinez Valero Stadium on Sunday. Los Blancos have traditionally obtained good results at this stadium, so it seems like an ideal day for Carlo Ancelotti men to extend the victory run they started against Deportivo de La Coruna and continued against Schalke 04.

Madrid has visited Elche in 22 occasions, 20 in La Liga and two in the Copa del Rey. They’ve brought points back home in 16 of those matches, obtaining ten wins, six draws and six loses against Elche.

Los Merengues have won their last four games at Martinez Valero: three in La Liga and one in the Copa. Should they avoid a defeat on Sunday, they would match their best run: an unbeaten streak of five straight matches at Elche. Their best run dates back to the 60’s, when they earned four wins and one draw between 1959 and 1963.

The last Real Madrid defeat at Elche took place in 1978 when Los Blancos lost 3-1. However, this is a tricky statistics, since the Southern-Spain side played in the second division from 1989 to 2013 and didn’t face Real.
