Edison Cavani would reject a move to the Premier League in order to fulfil his childhood dream of playing for Real Madrid, the Uruguayan striker’s father has admitted in an interview at Marca TV.
“Edison is in talks with Real and Manchester City”, Luis Cavani revealed at late night sports show Futboleros. “Napoli’s president have also told us about an offer from Chelsea, but nothing is certain yet”, he added.
“Edi’s intention is to join Real. He is excited about it. He has told us in private that he wants to play for Real Madrid but if he announces it publicly it will upset Napoli”.
Cavani’s father confirmed that they are expecting the two clubs to reach an agreement. “There has been contact with Real Madrid’s lawyers and now we are waiting for the two clubs to meet”.
“I hope it happens and that negotiations take place as soon as possible. Who wouldn’t want to play for Real Madrid?”, he concluded.
