Gareth Bale has spoken of his delight at winning another trophy in a Real Madrid shirt, this time the European Super Cup.

The Welshman was part of the side that earned a 2-0 win over Sevilla in Bale’s home town of Cardiff on Tuesday night to secure their first trophy of the new season.

Bale, who played crucial roles in helping the side win the Copa del Rey and Champions League last season, once again showed he is a big game player by providing an inch perfect cross fro Cristiano Ronaldo to tap home the opening goal on the half hour mark.

The 24-year-old missed pre-season last year and took a while to get going following his comeback, but in the second half of the campaign proved why Los Blancos shelled out 91 million euros on him.

And he told reporters on Tuesday night that it’s a dream come true to play for the club, adding that every player who pulls on the famous white shirt wants to win as many trophies as possible.

“It is a dream come true. Everyone comes to Real Madrid to win trophies, so we will be looking to win everything that is up for grabs this season. Cristiano Ronaldo has shown in game after game what he is capable of,” the former Spurs and Southampton star said.
