Real Madrid forward has hinted he would be interested in a move back to Tottenham Hotspur one day.

The Welshman signed for Los Blancos from the North London side last season in a 91-million-euro deal and fired the team to success in the Copa del Rey and Champions League.

Bale is settled in the Spanish capital and recently said in an interview that he hopes to remain for many years to come and achieve more success at the Santiago Bernabeu.

But speaking to BT Sport, he revealed he still has a deep affection for his former club and didn’t rule out moving back there once his time is up in Spain.

The 25-year-old stated: “I’ll never forget the great European nights at White Hart Lane. They were amazing. Tottenham will always have a place in my heart. I hope the fans still love me even though I’ve moved on. I love Spurs fans; you never know, I could come back one day.”

Prior to his move to Spain, Bale netted 55 times in 203 appearances for Spurs – 38 of which came in the final two of his six seasons there.

He was on the scoresheet midweek as Los Blancos defeat Basel 5-1 to get off to a winning start in the Champions League, as they seek to become the first team to win it back-to-back since it changed to its current format.
