Karim Benzema is still injured and he is a major doubt for the European Supercup to be played next Tuesday against Sevilla in Norway. The French player hasn’t played any minute in the pre-season tour around the United States and he is still working on his own.

Benzema’s appearance in the European Supercup is still one of the doubts that Zidane has ahead of the first major game of the season. The medical staff is worried about Benzema’s performance as he has missed all three games against Chelsea, PSG and Bayern Munich in the States.

According to the Spanish newspaper Marca, the club is worried about the situation because Benzema has been injured a lot recently and they cannot find exactly what is happening to him. The French forward has problems in the back and this is why they are trying to recover him as soon as possible.

Injuries are nothing new to Benzema, unfortunately. Last year, the forward missed 15 games for injury. Despite this problems, last season was the best for Benzema in these years in Real Madrid and the club expects that he can recover and play at his level.

This situation is a major blow for Real Madrid. Cristiano Ronaldo and Gareth Bale didn’t have many holidays due to the Eurocup and their good performance. However, Benzema didn’t play the tournament and the staff thought that they could be one of the best men at the beginning of the season.

Benzema needs to recover soon because this year he has more competitors than ever. With Jesé out of the club, Álvaro Morata can be a threat for the French player, especially if the Spaniard shows a similar level as in the Euro. Besides, Asensio has proved himself in the pre-season game that he can also play as a second forward.

  1. Morata played his best in the Europa cup bt with his first match with Sevilla he shows that he can’t replace Benzema because he lack experience and had no football power to compare with Benzema. So Benzema first forward player….
