Madrid sports newspapers put their focus on Radamel Falcao transfer rumours. Marca publishes an estatement from Monaco’s vice-president Vadim Vasilyev, who said “We’ve talked to Real Madrid many times this summer, but they have never asked about Falcao.”

However, the other main Spanish sports daily, As, keeps on making up stories about a move to the Santiago Bernabeu. “Liverpool is late for Falcao,” they title. “Monaco told the Reds he’ll go to Madrid,” they argue.

As main focus is on Angel di Maria’s failed transfer to Paris Saint-Germain. “Brakes on Di Maria,” they title, emphasizing Nasser Al-Khelaifi’s words on the matter: “We’ve stopped negotiations because he’s too expensive,” PSG’s president confessed.

Marca also publishes a special report on Real Madrid’s long range shooters. “A Madrid of gunners,” they title. “Kroos and James join Cristiano and Bale, making it four specialists in scoring from outside the area,” they report.

“Madrid was the team that scored the most goals from long range in La Liga last season,” Marca points out.
