Italian midfielder Marco Verratti will sign for Real Madrid this summer, French sports magazine France Football has claimed.
Los Blancos might be looking for a box-to-box midfielder to reinforce their squad, and Carlo Ancelotti has set the Paris Saint-Germain man on top of his shortlist. France Football has stated Verratti could leave the French capital for around 30 million euros.
Ancelotti knows Verratti well from his previous job as PSG’s boss. The Italian became a crucial piece of Carlo’s 4-3-2-1 formation.
Verratti was already linked with a move to the Spanish capital last summer, but the French club was reluctant to sell.
This time, things could be easier for Florentino Perez if PSG manage to sign Manchester City’s Yaya Toure, who has reportedly requested to leave North England.
With Xabi Alonso turning 33 this year, Los Blancos are in need of a replacement, especially since Asier Illarramendi has proved not to be ready for the job yet.
Rumours have also said that Los Merengues are planning on making a move for Sevilla’s Ivan Rakitic as well, but it seems highly unlikely that both players could arrive to the Santiago Bernabeu.
