Zinedine Zidane decided to introduce his favourite line-up with Gareth Bale in the starting 11 but his problems in his ankle prevented him to finish the game being substituted by Asensio in the first half. While Luis Enrique decided to introduce Paco Alcácer replacing Neymar, who couldn’t play because he was banned.

Los Blancos started the match very good with a lot of intensity, stealing the ball to Barcelona very quick, but when Messi started to have prominence in the pitch, the team managed by Luis Enrique controlled the ball possession. Cristiano Ronaldo had the first chance to open the scoreboard but Ter Stegen prevented with a good save. In the 29th minute Casemiro scored the first goal for Los Blancos after the shot of Sergio Ramos that finished in the bar, but only five minutes later, Barcelona tied the clash with a brilliant goal of Leo Messi. Gareth Bale had to leave the pitch in the 38th minute because of his problems in the ankle and Marco Asensio replaced the Welshman. The team managed by Zinedine Zidane didn’t finish good the first half but finally they could go to the dressing room with a tie.

Real Madrid started the second half with the same intensity as they started in the first minutes of the game and Benzema had a great chance to score the second goal from a good header that saved Ter Stegen. Barcelona started to have once again the ball possession and they had two good chances from a shot of Alcácer and a header of Piqué, but Keylor Nevas made two brilliant saves to prevent both goals. Los Blancos were suffering a lot in defense and Luis Suárez had a very clear chance but the Costa Rican made another save.

In the 69th minute Zidane changed Casemiro by Kovacic. The French manager didn’t want to risk with the Brazilian midfielder because he already had a yellow card since the first half. In the 73rd minute Rakitic scored the second goal for Barcelona from a good left footed shot from outside the box, unstoppable for Keylor. Sergio Ramos was sent off in the 77th minute because of a serious foul to Leo Messi, who was being a nightmare for Real Madrid defense. James entered by Benzema in the 82nd minute and in the first ball the Colombian touched in the game, he scored the second one for Los Blancos. When it looked like the match was going to finish with a draw, Leo Messi appeared again and score the goal that gave the victory to the Catalan side in the 92nd minute.

Los Blancos played a good game even when they were with 10 players but finally they lost a crucial clash and now Barcelona have the same points as Real Madrid in the table.
