Álvaro Morata spoke with the Italian newspaper Il Corriere dello Sport before facing Napoli in the Champions League Last 16. The young Spanish striker spoke about his experience with Real Madrid and the quality of Napoli, a team that can beat Los Blancos.

Álvaro Morata was very clear about his current situation. Morata wants more opportunities and against Osasuna he didn’t even play one minute: “I’m happy and I want to be successful at Real Madrid, but it’s true that I’d like to play more. Now we have the Champions League and La Liga; let’s see if the coach trusts on me”, Morata said to the Italian newspaper.

Morata has played 14 games in La Liga, scoring 6 goals, so he’s the second best scorer in the competition, only behind Cristiano Ronaldo. In the Champions League, the young striker played 5 out of 6 games in the group stage but only one game from the start. He scored goals against Sporting and Legia. And in Copa del Rey he played 5 games and he scored 2 goals in these games.

Morata spoke in the interview also about the situation of the team: “In January we lost two games, but it’s better to be out of Copa del Rey rather than the Champions League. We are now well, we are a united team and we’d like to win La Liga because it’s been a while since the last time. The Champions is always the Champions and we’re looking forward to playing against Napoli”.

The Spanish striker spoke also about the level of Napoli: “They played the ball really well and they are very strong in the front, with Callejón, Hamsik and Insigne. After they have Pavoletti and Milik, who I supposed he will try to be ready. It’s a big team. This year they are not fighting for the title, so they could be even stronger in Europe. They can beat us, but also we can beat them. It’s the magic of the Champions League”, the Spanish affirmed.

Morata has only lost once against Napoli in five games, but he has never scored against the South Italian team: “The victories have always been very suffered and I’m sure Napoli will fight until the end to win”.
