Bayern Munich won yesterday (4-1) against Borussia Dortmund, before receiving Real Madrid next Wednesday in the Champions League Quarter Final. Carlo Ancelotti decided to play with his ideal starting 11 despite they comfortable lead the Bundesliga. The only change the Italian manager did in his line-uo was in the defense. Mats Hummels didn’t play and Jerome Boating replaced him after recovering from a long injury. Ancelotti couldn’t count with his goalkeeper Neuer, who is expected to return against Real Madrid and Thomas Müller, who this season has not been in the his usual line-up in Champions League.

Frank Ribery opened the score board in the 4th minute from a great pass of the veteran player, Philippe Lahm. The team managed by Ancelotti started really good the game and in the 10th minute they already scored the second goal, from a great free kick of the Polish striker Robert Lewandowski. The team managed by Carlo Ancelotti was creating a lot of chances, and it looked like they were going to score the third one but Arturo Vidal did a defensive mistake and the Portuguese Rapahel Guerreiro scored the first goal for Tuchel’s side.

At the beginning of the second half, Real Madrid former player Robben scored the third goal for Bayern Munich from a great counterattack, started with a great pass from Ribery that the Dutch finished it with a great shot. In the 69th minute Robert Lewansowski scored the the fourth goal form a penalty kick. The Polish striker was substituted in the 70th minute due to problems in his shoulder but it looks like he will be ok to face Real Madrid next Wednesday.

Bayern Munich are a very complete side with a lot of good players. Los Blancos will have to do a very complete match with the goal of achieving a good result for the second leg that will be played at Santiago Bernabéu.

Although in the recent days, all the medias have spoken about the signing of Atlético Madrid’s player Theo Hernández, who is currently playing at Alavés, now the COPE ensures that Real Madrid continue searching for left backs and they are thinking in Valencia´s player Jose luis Gayá, a player who was already linked with Los Blancos in the last summers.

The Spanish left back is playing a good season, recovering his best level despite he has suffered some physical problems during the current season. Many important teams are interested in his services because his future in Mestalla is uncertain after the poor season Valencia are doing. It looks like there will be many changes in Valencia and Gayá can be a good signing if Theo Hernández doesn’t sign with the team managed by Zidane. The Spanish left back wants to change of team and play Champions League next season and Manchester City seem to be one of the most interested teams in signing him.

Zinedine Zidane wants to sign a left back with the aim of having a player who can replace Marcelo when the Brazilian needs to rest, because nowadays only the player who plays in that position is Fabio Coentrao. Nacho can also play in the left back but his natural position is the full back, where he is playing currently. Gayá can be a good signing because he will accept his role of being Marcelo’s substitute, being the player who can play in the games where Zidane decides to make several changes in the line-up, as the one played at Butarque against Leganés last week.

This season José Luis Gayá has played 26 games, accumulating 1950 minutes and two assists. This signing can cost Real Madrid an amount of €20M, although as we said before, Gayá would only be an alternative if Theo Hernández finally doesn’t sign with Real Madrid.

Zinedine Zidane spoke at press conference after the capital derby, where Atlético Madrid tied in the last minutes. The French manager highlighted the good work of his team,their opponent, his continuity in Real Madrid’s bench and other important topics.

Zidane started the press conference talking about today’s game against Atlético Madrid: “We cannot be happy today. We only added one point in a very complete game of my players. We have to rest because we have on Wednesday another important game. We did a good match but in the last minutes we weren’t concentrate. Atletico Madrid didn’t play a good match, but this is football”, the French manager said about today’s derby.

Pepe couldn’t finish the match and Kroos was replaced in the 75th minute. The journalists didn’t’ doubt in asking the French manager about these two players: “I wanted to introduce Isco to defend the left side and have more ball possessions. With the Pepe’s change there was no option, he had a very big pain and he couldn’t finish the match”, Zidane said about Pepe and Kroos.

Griezmann played a very good match today scoring the goal in the last 5 minutes that gave the draw to Atlético Madrid: ” We don’t have to wonder how to stop him. He is a very good player who scores a lot of goals and he is going a great season. In the goal he scored us we did not defend good the play, we were misplaced. We are all disappointed”, Zidane said about his compatriot who had a good performance today.

It looked like Real Madrid were a bit tired in the last minutes of the second half and the journalists asked the French manager about it:” I don’t think we tied because we were tired, we weren’t concentrate in the last minutes, that’s the great mistake. “,Zidane affirmed.

Los Blancos tied (1-1) in the capital derby against Atlético Madrid at Santiago Bernabéu. Zinedine Zidane decided to introduce his ideal starting 11, after playing against Leganés with a lot of new faces in the line-up. The BBC was back in action after resting in the midweek and they did not have their best performance today.

Real Madrid tried to control the match but Atletico Madrid were defending really good, as they usually do. The first chance of the game was for Saúl Ñiquez from a good header that finally finished in goal kick. Cristiano Ronaldo almost opened the scoreboard in the 15th minute put Oblak prevented it with a great save.

Casemiro was being the best player in Real Madrid in the first half, because he stole a lot of balls, giving the balance to the team. In the 30th minute Cristiano had the best chance of the game from a good shot that Savic saved it in the goal line. In the 38th minute Sergio Ramos did a big mistake in the defense and Griezmann did a great play that finished with ta brilliant shot that was very difficult for Keylor Navas, but the Costa Rican saved it.

Real Madrid started really good the second half, having the first chance in the 46th minute from a header of Cristiano. In the 53rd minute Pepe opened the score board with a brilliant header from a great assist of Kroos. With this goal it looked like Real Madrid was going to have a pleasant game until the end but there was a lot of minutes remaining.

In the 60th minute Atlético Madrid had a great chance to tie the match but Keylor Navas did a great save to Fernando Torres. Only five minutes later Pepe had to leave the pitch because of an injury in his shoulder and Nacho replaced him in the defense. Zinedine Zidane decided to change Kroos by Isco, with the aim of having the ball possession and to take advantage of the great moment of the Spaniard play maker. The French manger also changed Lucas by Gareth Bale in another poor match of the Welshman. In the 85th minute Griezmann tied the match in a defensive mistake of Los Blancos when there was not many minutes remaining. The French striker had two chances before, but he didn’t fail in the last one and these were very bad news for Real Madrid because there was not many minutes remaining.

Los Blancos could not win the capital derby but we can say they played a complete match but in the last minutes they did some important defensive mistakes. Now the team managed by Zinedine Zidane must focus in the Champions League match against Bayern Munich on Wednesday.

Marco Asensio is enjoying his first season at Real Madrid and we can say he’s been really successful. Zinedine Zidane gave him the opportunity to play again from the beginning at Butarque against Leganés and the youngster took advantage of the situation and played a great game.

Actually, Asensio was the best player of the game. He assisted Morata and James Rodríguez, worked a lot in the defensive area and helped the team to control the game in the midfield. After the match, Zinedine Zidane showed his happiness with the Spaniard: “He made a great game, we know his quality”, the French manager said.

Despite his words, Asensio is one of the players of the squad with less opportunities in La Liga. Only Fabio Coentrao and Mariano Díaz have enjoyed less minutes in this competition. Asensio has participated in 16 games but only 678 minutes in the whole season. In these games, he had time to score three goals, against Real Sociedad, Las Palmas and Eibar, all the game on the road.

Unfortunately, because of the competitors, he’s not enjoying as many minutes as he deserves, but if he keeps showing this level, he will become one of the best youngster in Spain and, therefore, Zidane should include him more often in the line-up. So far, he’s earn himself another season with Real Madrid.
