Zidane spoke at press conference after the victory of Los Blancos at Allianz Arena. Real Madrid played an incredible second half and they had many chances to score even more goals. The French manager highlighted the difficulty of winning in this stadium, the tie, Cristiano Ronaldo’s performance and other important topics.

The French manager seemed a bit disappointed with the result they achieved today, despite of winning in a difficult stadium as Allianz Arena: ” We suffered a lot in the first half, but in the second half we played really good. It’s very difficult to win here but we are disappointed because we had many chances to score more goals in the second half. In the second half we played against 10 players, but Neuer prevented many goals”, Zidane said about yesterday’s match.

Cristiano Ronaldo played a really good match today and the French manager didn’t doubt on talking about his performance:” He was very happy because of his performance but he knows we could score more goals. He has the virtue of being an scorer. Cristiano has always been better playing in the side but we thought before the game that he must always exchange his position with Benzema, Bale Asensio…What we must do now id rest well because we have a match on Saturday”, Zidane said about Cristiano’s performance.

Zidane also talked about the tie and the second leg: ” We must play the second leg and it won’t be easy, it’s true that with another goal we would be happier. I’m glad of my team because we suffered a lot in the first half. We could go to the dressing room with 2-0, despite it was not penalty. Now we must play the second leg and they have a very good team that can score you two goals in our stadium”, Zidane affirmed about the second leg.

Bale couldn’t’ finish the match because of muscular problems and the French managed changed him in the 58th minute: He had muscular problems and we didn’t want to risk. Now he has a lot of pain but we hope it’s not an important injury. I’m very happy with Asensio’s performance because he is a very good player who can play in every type of games”, the French manager said about Bale’s substitution.

Real Madrid showed their great quality and character in a difficult venue like Allianz Arena. Los Blancos made another comeback in Munich (1-2) in a great second half, where they could nail the tie. Cristiano scored both goals, now he’s scored 100 goals in Europe, and the semifinals are closer.

Bayern Munich started the game pressuring very high and arriving to Navas’ goal as it was expected. Actually, the German team had three corner kicks in the first 5 minutes. However, Bayern were unable to create any chance and Real Madrid started to take control of the game and Los Blancos were feeling more comfortable.

The first chances arrived for Real Madrid. Cristiano Ronaldo had a dangerous free kick, but it was wasted. Just some minutes later, Benzema headed the ball to the bar. But Bayern Munich punched first. After another corner kick, Arturo Vidal scored the first goal in the 26th minute. After the goal, Bayern were much better and they were close to score the second, especially after another header from Vidal.

The Chilean midfielder had the opportunity to open the gap from the penalty spot in the last minute of the first half but his shot went above the bar. Real Madrid were quite lucky, although it wasn’t handball from Carvajal, but Los Blancos played a poor first half.

The second half couldn’t start better. Carvajal put a great cross and Cristiano Ronaldo equalized the game. Real Madrid felt more comfortable after the goal and Gareth Bale could score the second but Neuer made another great save. Zidane made the first change very quickly, in the minute 58th, and Bale was substituted by Asensio. The game became even better for Los Blancos when Javi Martínez was sent off in the 60th minute. Los Blancos had 30 minutes to take advantage in the tie.

Despite playing with one player more, Real Madrid were unable to keep the ball and attack Neuer’s goal. Ten minutes later, the chances arrived. Especially Karim Benzema could scored the second but Neuer saved it again. Just two minutes later, Neuer was again the hero after a shot from Cristiano Ronaldo. The Portuguese could redeem himself finding the net in the 77th minute. It was enough. Los Blancos tried and tried to score the third one and even a goal scored by Benzema didn’t go to the scoreboard because he was in offside. The same happened with Sergio Ramos, who scored from a header, again, in the very last minute, but he was in offside.

At the end, Los Blancos won the game at the Allianz Arena and they set a foot in the semifinals. It was a pity, because they could nail the tie. The advantage and the difference was pretty clear. Now they have to show it again at Bernabéu.

Paulo Dybala was the star in the first leg of the Champions League quarter-finals game between Juventus and Barcelona. The Italian team thrashed the Catalan club (3-0) with a new exhibition of Dybala, who scored the first two goals of the game. Now, Juventus are very close from the semifinals and they claimed ‘vendetta’ after the defeat in the Champions League final in 2015.

Real Madrid supporters could be very happy to see how Barcelona were thrashed again in Europe. It looks like what happened in Paris, when the Blaugranas lost (4-0), was never going to happen again. But it actually did in Torino. Barcelona played a really poor game and Juventus, with some former Real Madrid footballers in the line-up like Sami Khedira or Gonzalo Higuaín, beat Barcelona.

However, the star of the game was Paulo Dybala. We can read a lot of headlines today talking about the great match of the Argentinian, who is now “the new Messi” for some newspapers. He scored the first two goals of the game with great shots and he showed his great skills as a playmaker.

Florentino Pérez likes Dybala and Real Madrid were interested in signing the Argentinian striker. Although the first option for the new ‘galáctico’ is Eden Hazard, Dybala is in the shortlist. He gained some more credit yesterday with an exhibition in a top level clash.

After the game, Paulo Dybala was asked about his future: “I’m very happy at Juventus. My renewal is very close and I want to enjoy what I’m living here. I’m going to try to give a lot of joy to my supporters”, Dybala commented.

The former Palermo player is negotiating a new contract with Juventus bosses but the agreement is taking a while to be closed. However, by this speech, we can be almost certain that Dybala will stay at Torino. After these kind of exhibitions, his price has raised. If Juventus paid €90M for Higuaín, how much would Real Madrid spend to sign Dybala? For sure, it would be one of the most expensive signings in football history.

Carlo Ancelotti is a gentleman and he showed it again in the press conference before the clash against Real Madrid at Allianz Arena. The manager doesn’t want to speak about revenge for the way he left Spain and he said really kind words to Zinedine Zidane.

The Italian manager admitted that this wasn’t a normal game: “I know very well Sergio Ramos potential, but we are focus on our strength. We are going to give everything. It will be a special game because I have a lot of affection to Real Madrid, the players, the technical staff… It’s a special game for me and it will be a very beautiful game”.

There is a controversy at Real Madrid about whether the BBC should start or not the game. For Carlo Ancelotti is pretty clear: “I prefer that the BBC don’t play. I prefer Cristiano on the bench, Benzema with the supporters and Bale watching the game at home”.

The player who should be on the pitch despite his physical problems is Robert Lewandowski: “He trained 20 minutes because he has a problem in the shoulder. He had good feelings and tomorrow we should check it. If he doesn’t feel the pain, he’ll play. If he has pain, he won’t play. […] Our strategy won’t change. We can be strong without Lewandowski”.

Ancelotti also explained what he learnt from the Italian coach: “Having the assistance of Zidane is wonderful because he had a great relationship with the players, he helped me a lot. And when I had Zidane as a player at Juventus, I realized how important is having a good relationship with the players”.

Finally, Carletto spoke about Florentino Pérez: “Both clubs are very similar, with people who know about football, very well organized… I haven’t talked with Florentino after the draw because tomorrow we’ll meet. The French manager has a challenge in front of him and he wants to beat Bayern Múnich and his former boss Carlo Ancelotti. Zinedine Zidane spoke at the Allianz Arena in the day before the first leg of the quarter finals against Bayern Munich.

The coach looked very relaxed and happy even before a clash like the one we’re going to see in Germany: “Everybody has their own behaviour and mine it’s this. I enjoy myself and try to show what I am. We are going to play a quarter-finals game against Bayern, it’s to have fun. I’m always positive and I don’t think in weird things. Zidane will face for the very first time Carlo Ancelotti, a coach he knows very well: “I learnt a lot of things but I’m not going to tell you what”, the manager said. “Carlo and I know each other very well, but this doesn’t mean anything. Zidane knows what is the danger of Bayern Munich: “I expect Bayern will start very strong. They always start strong and they know how to attack. That’s why we need to start strong. We have to keep showing we are doing right. Our task is to do the maximum during the game”.

Everybody expects the BBC to play: “They are very good players, with a lot of experience. The better they are, the more critics they receive. Real Madrid beat Bayern three years ago playing with the counter attack: “We are going to try to win, like always. We have the three at the front and a great team. Three years ago, it was amazing, but tomorrow we have a different game, against a stronger team”.

The manager thinks that Lewandowski will play the game, despite his physical problems and he’s concerned about Sergio Ramos, who will miss the second leg if he sees the yellow card: “He knows and he has to be ready. We are positive and we don’t think in the yellow card”, Zidane finished.

Gareth Bale is looking forward to the quarter-finals round against Bayern Munich on Wednesday and he has spoken about his feeling before the last two decisive months of competition in an interview with the British newspaper The Telegraph.

The Welshman is not at his best in the last games and he had a very poor performance against Atlético Madrid. However, the winger is now focused on playing in the Champions League, where he will fight for his third title in only four years: “It would be an incredible achievement, especially as no club has won the Champions League in back-to-back seasons since the new format came in,” Bale commented.

Now, Ancelotti hopes that Lewandowski could be recover to face Real Madrid. Some days ago, we published that Real Madrid were willing to pay Theo Hernández’ release clause and Los Blancos had already an agreement with the left back. Atlético Madrid still think that they could avoid Theo Hernández signing for Los Blancos. His brother plays for Atlético and the club wants Theo to come back and play in the left back position. However, it looks like Real Madrid were quick enough to get a deal with the French defender.

Now, even FC Barcelona have joined the battle to get Theo Hernández. According to the Spanish newspaper As, the Catalan club has offered a similar contract to the player and they’d like Theo to become the new left back, opening the door to Jordi Alba, whose performances have been quite poor in the last months.

Besides, Theo Hernández’ agent, Manuel García Quilón, prefers Barcelona rather than Real Madrid for his client. Quilón is Benítez’ agent and his relationship with Los Blancos was affected after the manager was sacked one year ago.
