The rumours about Isco leaving Real Madrid continue to be triggered with every line-up of Zinedine Zidane. The Spanish playmaker is not the first choice of the coach but every time he’s in the field, he’s the best of the game, deciding many games.

We could see it at Estadio de la Cerámica. Real Madrid were losing 2-0 against Villarreal when Isco came in for Casemiro. From that very moment, Los Blancos had the ball, arrive to Villarreal’s box and they were able to comeback to continue at the top of the table. Isco changed the game, as Zidane said after the game in press conference. After this, the manager admitted that both Morata and Isco deserve more minutes.

Zidane continues saying flattering words to Isco but the Spaniard is out of the line-up in important games. On top of that, against Valencia or Napoli, Isco didn’t even play one minute. At Mestalla, for instance, Real Madrid were losing 2-0 again and they needed a player to be between the lines, but Isco was no option, and Los Blancos ended up losing the game.

In the Champions League, Isco is the player with less minutes in the squad. Even Danilo or Fabio Coentrao have played more time in the Champions League.

Having this in mind, it’s logic to think that Isco can think twice before signing a new contract with Real Madrid. His deal ends in 2018 and this summer the club and the player have to sit down and negotiate either a new contract or selling the player. Isco has several offers on the table for major European clubs, so it’s crucial these months until the end of the current season.

Isco takes advantage of the few opportunities he’s having. Actually, against Espanyol the former Málaga player started the game and he was the best player in the pitch. The same applies to Álvaro Morata, who scored the winner at Estadio de la Cerámica and he’s scored more goals that Benzema this year in La Liga despite having less minutes.

Zinedine Zidane

Zinedine Zidane was a happy man after the game against Villarreal. However, the story could have had a tragic end because Los Blancos risked again to lose some points and the leadership of La Liga. This time, the manager was right with the substitutions and the team could come back again.

The manager was asked about Isco and Morata: “For sure they deserve more minutes. They changed the game. We’re going to need all the players”. Zidane also explained the was he changed the game: “With the 2-0 we had to change something and we were right. We did an offensive substitution to play in the rival pitch and we were right. There is nothing else. We knew Villarreal were great at home. We had to be patient. With the substitutions we changed the game. It was very important to earn the points and continue topping the table”.

The French manager didn’t say a lot of things to Morata, who scored the final goal: “I didn’t tell him a lot of things, only tactical details. He should be in the box because we were going to cross a lot”, Zidane explained.

Zizou also spoke about the penalty Real Madrid had for a handball committed by Bruno: “The players told me it was penalty, I couldn’t see it. I will never complain about the referees. He whistled and that’s it. We did great things to come back, we had more chances and we got three important points against a good rival. We are happy for the victory”.

Finally, Zidane also spoke about Villarreal: “We knew they can put us in difficulties and they are a great team at home, they scored two goals. We had to be patient and having common sense to play like we like. For us it was very important to leave the stadium as leaders”.

Real Madrid v Villarreal

After the defeat against Valencia at Mestalla, Real Madrid won 2-3 in another great comeback in the 24th week of the regular season at Estadio de la Cerámica. Villarreal are a very good and tough team to win in their stadium because they play a very good football and they showed it once again. Zinedine Zidane decided to introduce in the line-up the BBC after several weeks without playing with the three stars in the attacking line.

Villarreal started really good the match controlling the ball, highlighting Trigueros, who had the first chance to open the scoreboard from an incredible shot, but Keylor Navas prevented it with a great save. Los Blancos were having several problems to have the possession of the ball and they were suffering a lot in defense.  Zidane’s side had their first opportunity of the game in the 24th minute from a very good header Benzema, but the ball didn’t touch the net because Asenjo saved it. After that save, Villarreal’s goalkeeper had to leave the match because of muscular problems. Finally, the first half finished and we can say that his was one of the worst first halves Real Madrid played in all the entire season.

The second half couldn’t start worst. Villarreal opened the scoreboard from a volley of Trigueros in a very big mistake of Real Madrid’s defense. Only ten minutes later, Bakambu scored the second goal from possible offside. Now Los Blancos had to do another comeback and it was not going to be easy because Villarreal were playing much better. Zidane decided an offensive substitution introducing Isco by Casemiro and Los Blancos reacted with a great volley of Cristiano that finished in the bar. In the 64th minute Gareth Bale shortened the gap with a great header from a cross of Carvajal. In the 74th minute the referee pointed at the penalty spot because of a handball of Bruno and Cristiano tied the match. Los Blancos could complete the comeback with a goal of Morata in the last 10 minutes from a good header with a wonderful cross of Marcelo.

Los Blancos could achieve the victory in a very tough game that finally the team managed by Zidane could make another comeback. We can say that the MVP of the match was Isco because when he entered the pitch, Los Blancos started to have the possession of the ball and that was the key for the great comeback.

Casemiro Real Madrid

Carlos Henrique Casemiro is nowadays one of the most important players in Real Madrid and many clubs are interested in the Brazilian midfielder. Casemiro has become a key player in Zidane’s formation and he feels so important in the club that he requested Real Madrid a salary improvement to be more comfortable.

During this week, there have been rumors that say that Manchester United and Chelsea are very interested in his services. The Brazilian midfielder is the only “stopper” in all the squad and when he is not on the pitch, Los Blancos suffer a lot because all Real Madrid midfielders (except Casemiro) are offensive midfielders. Last year he started to play with Rafa Benitez and when the Spanish coach left Madrid, Zinedine Zidane introduced him in his best starting 11.

Last year he played 23 games in the regular season, and 11 at Champions League, showing that he can play in a big team as Real Madrid. In the current season he has already played 12 in La Liga and three in Champions League, highlighting his goal against Napoli from a wonderful volley. Zinedine Zidane spoke at press conference before the match they will play at Estadio de la Cerámica against Villarreal in the 24th week of the regular season. The French manager talked about Villarreal, Keylor Navas poor performances in the last matches, Gareth Bale, Marco Asensio’s absence in the last match against Valencia and Varane’s injury.

The French manager started the press conference talking about Villarreal: “It’s a very tough game. We know the difficulty of the match because they defend really good. We have the opportunity to achieve a victory only three days after the defeat at Mestalla”, Zidane said.

Gareth Bale can return to the line up after being on the bench in the last two games and this is what the French manager said about the Welshman:” Gareth Bale is ready to play. In these two weeks he trained really good and now he is physically 100%”, the French manager affirmed.

Asensio didn’t enter in the last list against Valencia and the journalists asked Zidane, why he doesn’t play after his good performances in this season:” Nothing has changed. I’m very happy with him. Bernardo Silva. The Portuguese midfielder played a great game at Etihad but he’s been calling the attention of the big clubs for many months. Silva is only 22 years old and he commands the midfield of the top club in the French League.

Real Madrid were losing against Valencia but the manager didn’t decide to put in the pitch Isco or Álvaro Morata. Both attacking players left the stadium very angry and their time with Real Madrid is running out if the situation doesn’t change.

Valencia scored two goals in the first 10 minutes of the game, so Los Blancos needed to come back. They tried harder but the last assist didn’t arrive and Real Madrid tried very hard with crosses from the wingers. However, Mangala and Garay showed their aerial skills and only Cristiano Ronaldo could head a great ball from Marcelo in the first half.

Zinedine Zidane has to look for solutions on the bench and he had plenty of them. Gareth Bale was the obvious one and he came in replacing James Rodríguez. Then, Zidane decided to send Morata, Isco and Lucas Vázquez to warm up. Two of these three will come in, but Varane got injured and Nacho had to come in. So now, there was only room for one of them and the chosen one was Lucas Vázquez.

Isco and Morata came back to the bench with an angry face and the former Málaga player even kicked a plastic bottle, showing his anger. The team needed a playmaker, he’s been the best footballer in La Liga recently, but he didn’t play a minute again in an important game. We have to note that Isco has only played 66 minutes in the Champions League. Therefore, Isco is not an option in the important games.

Zidane has the full squad available now with the exception of Varane, with muscular problems. Thus he has to take difficult decisions and Isco and Morata seemed the easy choice.
