Everton signed Ademola Lookman in the winter transfer window for a transfer fee of €11.5M. The striker was an unknown player for the majority of the supporters as he was playing in the South London club Charlton Athletic, from the League One division. However, in his first game with the Toffees he showed his quality scoring the last goal in the hammering victory over Guardiola’s side.

In the injury time of the game Everton v Manchester City in the Premier League, Ronald Koeman decided to give some minutes to Lookman. It was his debut in Premier League. Only four minutes later, he scored his first goal in the top flight beating Claudio Bravo. The dream came true for this young player.

Only one month ago, he was an unknown player in the League One. However, he has a promising career. With only 18 years old, Lookman has played with the Under 20 English national team and has called the attention of the biggest clubs of the country. In the last two seasons with Charlton, he has scored 5 goals. Lookman’s career looks similar to the one of Dele Alli, Tottenham star who is also targeted by Real Madrid. Alli also jumped from the League One -MK Dons- to the Premier League, with great success.

In an interview with the British newspaper The Sun, he has showed his ambition: “One day I want to win trophies. Of course I want to play at the highest level – whether it be in England or Spain, I want to be at the top. You have teams like Barcelona and Real Madrid”, Lookman said.

Lookman was born in South London but he has Nigerian origins. Who knows where Lookman is able to arrive but his ambitions are to get as far as Real Madrid. In only five minutes he has knocked the door of the giants of Europe. Has a new star been born?

After the first defeat in 40 games at Ramón Sánchez Pizjuán, there is some controversy with Real Madrid players. Some of them didn’t show a great level against Sevilla and the supporters are pointing them for not showing their skills in one of the most important games of the season.

Karim Benzema, Cristiano Ronaldo or Keylor Navas were the players who didn’t play great. Benzema missed an important chance and lost the ball in the second goal scored by Jovetic. Cristiano Ronaldo was used to shine against Sevilla but he didn’t participate a lot in the game, whereas Keylor Navas could have done more in the two goals conceded by the team. We want to focus on Keylor Navas, because there is an open debate in whether the Costa Rican should be the goalkeeper or Kiko Casilla deserves an opportunity.

The Spanish goalkeeper showed his quality in Copa del Rey. Actually, Casilla was one of the best players on Thursday and helped the team to go through the next stage in the competition. Kiko Casilla also played the first games of La Liga because Navas was injured and he only concede six goals in six games achieving two clean sheets.

Keylor Navas made his season debut in the 2nd of October against Eibar. He’s played 11 games in La Liga so far, conceding 10 goals in 11 games and having three clean sheets. The stats are quite similar, but some people think that the Costa Rican performances are getting poorer since his operation in the summer because he suffered from an Achilles tendonitis.

Last season, Keylor Navas was one of the best players of the team, giving a lot of points to Real Madrid. He showed a lot of reflexes and save Los Blancos several times. However, this year he’s not showing the same skills. For instance, in the game against Sevilla, he started the clash with an error in a corner kick, when N’Zonzi was about to score from a header. In the first goal, he could have left the goal and catch the ball, but he was afraid of leaving the goal and Sergio Ramos scored the own goal in the set piece. Only five minutes later, he wasn’t in the right place when Jovetic shot from outside the box, leaving a great space in his left hand side.

For these reasons, there are people saying that Kiko Casilla deserves an opportunity also in La Liga and Keylor Navas should stay in the bench until his performances get better. Which goalkeeper do you think should play?

The French manager wasn’t very angry after his first defeat in 40 games. Zinedine Zidane was satisfied with the performance at Ramón Sánchez Pizjuán and he was looking forward to the next game, in Copa del Rey against Celta de Vigo. Los Blancos played a good game, but they were unable to keep the result in the last 5 minutes of the game.

“We missed the last five minutes. It’s hard with the game we did. The defeat is hard. We knew this was going to happen some day”, Zidane said after the game against Sevilla. However, he wants to think in a positive way: “Of course we can get positive things, like always”.

The manager regret the last minutes of the game: “We knew this was going to happen anyday. From here until the end of the season it will be hard. The pity is the last two goals in the last minutes”, Zidane commented. The manager also explained the change of formation: “We had to change after three games in 10 days. I’m happy with the players”.

Zizou explained his vision of the two goals: “It’s easy to say that we didn’t know how to defend. It’s true that the first goal is a free kick and the second one a ball lost… We did right in 85 minutes. I’m very proud of these 40 games. Now we have to rest and thinking in the next games, with other motivation. From here until the end of the season we’ll have more tough games”.

Real Madrid lost against one of the best teams of La Liga. Sevilla are now only one point behind Los Blancos: “Sevilla showed they are able to fight for La Liga title. Sevilla will fight for sure. They play well, fight, they have intensity. The same as we do… I’m not going to think or talk more about Sevilla. We are hurt because the defeats are not welcomed”, the French coach explained.

The manager also described the feelings of the squad: “I don’t think is a lack of concentration. These are moments in the game. A free kick, a ball lost… In 90 minutes, it can happen. We have to analyze a little bit what we can improve. I can be very happy about the game, the content and disappointed for these two goals. Like the players”, Zidane finished.

Real Madrid and Sevilla played for the second time this week at Ramón Sánchez Pizjuán. Los Blancos lost (2-1) in a very difficult match against a very tough team when they played in their stadium. Zinedine Zidane did some changes in the line up. He decided to introduce Nacho in the defense instead of Lucas Vázquez with the goal of controlling the midfield. Real Madrid played with five defenders for the first time in the current season. Sampaoli also changed his formation. He introduced two stoppers in the midfield (Iborra and N’Zonzi) and they played with four defenders when they usually play with five.

Los Blancos started very good the match playing with a high pressure and with a lot of dynamism. Real Madrid controlled the game in the first 30 minutes, having some chances to open the scoreboard and having the ball possession. Casemiro played really good, being the player who was just ahead the defense and behind Modric and Kroos. He stopped all Sevilla attacks and he was the one who gave the balance to the team.

Sevilla started the second half having an opportunity from a shot from Franco Vázquez but Keylor Navas prevented the first Sevilla’s goal with a great save. In the 66th minute Carvajal forced a clear penalty and Cristiano Ronaldo was the player in charge of opening the scoreboard. In the minute 75th Zidane introduced Kovacic replacing Kroos in the midfield. The French manager didn’t want to change the formation because Los Blancos were very comfortable in the field. In the 86th minute Sevilla tied the match from an unlucky play. Sergio Ramos head the ball inside the goal. Only five minutes later Jovetic scored Sevilla’s second goal from a long shot from outside the box.

We can say that Real Madrid played a great match but in the last minutes Sevilla attacked successively and they made a great comeback when the match was ending. This defeat means that Sevilla have broken the run of 40 games unbeaten. Now Los Blancos must think in Copa del Rey match where they will face Celta at Santiago Bernabéu.

Chelsea’s coach, Antonio Conte, wants to sign a Real Madrid player in the upcoming winter’s transfer market. The Italian manager wants a new striker in his team and his desire is Álvaro Morata. Chelsea tried to sign him last summer with a huge offer but finally the Spanish striker decided to stay at Madrid. According to CalcioMercato, the English team will return to try to sign him in the winter’s transfer market.

Álvaro Morata almost signed with Chelsea a few months ago. The Spanish player confirmed in an interview that Chelsea offered €70M in the last summer transfer market. However, Real Madrid said to Morata that they will count with him in the current season and that he was going to be a very important player in the squad.

In this season, Morata is not having too many minutes and nowadays he is not in Zidane’s best line-up. The young striker has scored nine goals in all the competitions and four assists. He has an average of one goal per 121 minutes. Karim Benzema has the same assists and he has scored five more goals than Morata in the current season.

Conte believes Morata would be an ideal candidate to lead his 3-4-3 formation and feels he can turn him into a 20 goals a season striker. The recent argument between Diego Costa and Chelsea’s manager has made that there is still more interest in Morata’s signing.

Zidane has always said that Morata is very important for the team because he needs players with different characteristics in his squad. This is his first year since his adventure in Serie A, where he grew as a player and as a person. He has always confirmed his desire to stay at the Spanish capital because it’s the team that gave him the chance to be a professional.

Real Madrid are very interested in the young Swedish talent Alexander Isak. They have followed his progression and according to Marca, next week he will sign with Los Blancos. Despite Real Madrid cannot sign until next year, Florentino Pérez continues searching players and he is very interested in the young Swedish striker. Teams as Chelsea, Manchester United, Juventus, Bayern Munich and Borussia Dortmund are also interested on him.

According to Marca, Isak will sign with Real Madrid next week with a contract for five seasons. However, the Swedish striker may not dress Real Madrid shirt until summer, since FIFA’s sanction prevents the club to sign new players in this winter transfer market.

The 17 year old Swedish striker is currently playing with the Swedish team AIK Solna and he already has debuted with his his national team. This week he has proclaimed the youngest player to score a goal with Sweden in the friendly match against Slovakia.

Many people compare Isak with Ibrahimovic because of their height and because both play in the same position. They have similar characteristics. He is powerful (1’90) and physically domineering but he also is a very technical player which leads to the comparisons with Manchester United’s current leading scorer. In fact, Isak has been named as the new “Ibrahimovic”. The young Swedish player visited last November Valdebebas and he also watched a match at Santiago Bernabéu in the game against Sporting Gijón.

Last season (in his first year as a profesional) he played around 1000 minutes with AIk Solna. Alexander Isak scored 10 goals in just 24 games being the team top scorer despite his youth. Now he has the chance to grow as player if he finally signs with Los Blancos. In his first year, Los Blancos want to form him as a player and they decided that the best idea is that in the first season he will play with Real Madrid Castilla.

Sergio Ramos scored in Copa del Rey from a penalty kick in a Panenka style and Sevilla supporters started to whistle at Real Madrid captain. When he scored the goal he looked to Los Biris (Sevilla radical supporters) and he pointed his name while the hooligans were booing him. He also apologized with the rest of supporters of Sánchez Pizjuán who did not understand why he celebrated the goal that way.

Sevilla fans whistled him because in the last years Real Madrid is one of the most hated teams for Sampaoli’s team, beyond the existing rivalry with Betis for being the other team of the city. Sevilla’s fans did not understand why Sergio Ramos left the Andalusian team because it was the club who believed in him and that gave him the opportunity to play in La Liga.

Sergio Ramos signed with Real Madrid for an amount of €30M in 2005-2006 season. Many Sevilla supporters said that he left Sevilla only for money. Real Madrid full back has said many times he is a Sevilla fan and that he will be buried with a flag of Real Madrid and Sevilla.

Sergio Ramos was born in Camas, a town near Sevilla. He played for Sevilla until he was 19 years old but he finally decided to go to Real Madrid to try to grow even more as a player and as person. He has won many titles at Madrid but he has always been grateful with Sevilla.

The Spaniard full back doesn’t understand why Dani Alves or Rakitic do not receive whistles from Sevilla’s supporters when they play at Sánchez Pizjuán. Maybe it’s because they did not like the gesture of celebrating the goal so effusive in the match of the European Super Cup, when Sergio Ramos scored in the minute 93. When the match finished Sergio Ramos said: “I am a Real Madrid captain and I play for Real Madrid. I have to set an example for my teammates”, he expressed after the game.
