Alavés v Real Madrid Preview

Real Madrid are back on track and they are in a run of four consecutive wins among all competitions. Los Blancos thrashed (1-7) Cultural Leonesa in the first leg of Copa del Rey Last 32 round, giving some rest to most of the important players. However, the substitutes played a great game and they are knocking on Zidane’s door. Especially Morata, Lucas Vázquez and Asensio, who shined in León.

Despite this great performance, the BBC are expected to start again the game. They’re not in their best but they have Zidane’s trust. Dani Carvajal is ruled out for suspension, whereas Casemiro, Luka Modric and Sergio Ramos are also out for injury.

Alavés proved themselves as a dangerous team when they beat Barcelona (1-2) at Nou Camp and drew (1-1) at Vicente Calderón. Now, Alavés are only two points about the relegation zone, having lost three out of their last five games. In the last game, they were beaten (3-0) against Real Sociedad in a Basque derby.

Alavés v Real Madrid Prediction

Real Madrid suffered a lot in the last game in La Liga against Athletic Club and they have still a lot of things to be improved. However, they are back in the winning track, showing some quality against Betis and Cultural Leonesa. Alavés are a newly promoted team and Los Blancos should beat them.

Alavés started the season quite well with very surprising results against Barcelona and Atlético. The Basque side lost their first game in the week 5. Since then, they’ve lost three games in the last five matches. They’ll struggle to earn a point against Spanish giants.

Last time Real Madrid played in Mendizorroza, Los Blancos won (1-3) with Ronaldo Nazario scoring twice. It was the season 2005/06. Real Madrid galácticos also beat Alavés (1-5) in the previous season with a polemic celebration.

Zinedine Zidane can be happy nowadays. He has a magnificent squad and it was shown against Cultural Leonesa in Copa del Rey. The substitutes had their chance and they took it, thrashing their rival and getting the ticket to the Copa del Rey Last 16 round.

In the attacking line, Karim Benzema, Cristiano Ronaldo and Gareth Bale (BBC) have some rest and they stayed in Madrid. In their place, Zidane introduced Álvaro Morata, Marco Asensio and Lucas Vázquez (LAM) with the result of four goals. Actually, Real Madrid have played 14 official games so far, and the BBC scored 12 goals and the LAM 13 goals.

Yesterday, the protagonists were Álvaro Morata and Marco Asensio. The former Juventus striker found twice the net after being the hero in the victory over Athletic Club in La Liga. So far, Morata has scored two goals in La Liga, two in Champions League -including a last minute goal against Sporting Portugal- and other two in the Copa del Rey.

In the other hand, Marco Asensio is the only player able to score in all four competitions. And this is his season debut at Real Madrid. The former Mallorca player has scored 6 goals -2 La Liga, 2 Copa del Rey, 1 Champions League and 1 European Supercup-, helping the team every time he has the chance. Finally, Lucas Vázquez has only scored one goal against Legia Warsaw in Champions League but he’s giving assists when he plays, his real role.

Morata, Asensio and Lucas Vázquez have to wait their chance on the bench because the BBC is “no negotiable”, according to Zinedine Zidane. But the numbers says the contrary. Cristiano Ronaldo has scored 4 goals in the season -2 in La Liga and 2 in Champions League- but he didn’t play in the European Supercup or Copa del Rey. Gareth Bale has found the net three times in La Liga and one in the Champions League, whereas Karim Benzema wrote his name in the scoresheet 4 times in La Liga. So overall, BBC have scored 12 for 13 goals for the LAM.

Some Real Madrid supporters demand more opportunities to the youngsters, all born in Spain and most of them have played in Castilla. In the meantime, Zinedine Zidane keep his trust in the BBC. Should Morata, Asensio and Lucas have more opportunities?

Real Madrid announced in the official website the extension of Lucas Vázquez contract until 2021. The Galician youngster was the next in the list after the agreements with Luka Modric or Toni Kroos. The next footballers to extend their contract should be Cristiano Ronaldo, Gareth Bale or Pepe, whose contract expires at the end of the present season.

Lucas Vázquez played yesterday a great game against Cultural Leonesa and he’s taking his opportunities when Zidane decides that Lucas needs to be in the pitch. However, he’s not enjoying a lot of minutes: “I think we have an amazing squad with high-level footballers, so whoever plays is going to do it right. The most important thing is keep working in this way”, Lucas said.

Lucas Vázque was born in Galicia but he joined Real Madrid when he was very little. After, he decided to leave to have more opportunities at Espanyol, where he shined. Last year, Real Madrid brought him back and he is succeeding in the team: “I’m very happy. Since 2007 my dream was wearing the Real Madrid t-shirt. It wasn’t easy, and I’m very happy to be here”, Lucas Vázquez said in press conference after the announcement.

One of the key moments of his career was when Lucas shot the first penalty in the Champions League final in Milan: “I had the confidence to score and I was lucky to do it and win the Champions League. I asked to shoot one and they gave me the first one”, the winger explained.

Despite his good performances, he’s not enjoying so many minutes because the BBC are ahead: “The coach speaks with me and he explains us what he wants. Training every day is what we have to do and when he decides to give me an opportunity, I have to be in good shape to help the team”, Lucas Vázquez finished.

Real Madrid substitutes played a great game in the Copa del Rey first leg in the Last 32 round. They thrashed Cultural Leonesa (1-7) and Zinedine Zidane was very happy about it and was even shocked after Nacho’s amazing volley.

According to the Real Madrid coach, Nacho’s goal was even better than the one he scored in 2002 in the Champions League final against Bayer Leverkusen: “It’s more beautiful this one, it’s goal for the history, for Nacho. I’m very happy, he deserves it. He always trains well and very focused”, Zidane said in press conference.

Mostly, Real Madrid played with the substitutes but in the line up was also Toni Kroos: “He had to play in this position, we’re lacking of playing in this area. At the end, the idea was that he had to rest a bit but he wanted to play until the end. A normal game. At the half time, I asked him if he wanted to continue and he was alright”, Zidane explained.

The manager was also asked about the level of the substitutes, who played at a great level and perhaps they deserve more minutes: “All the players know that it’s difficult to play. Ones they’ll play more and others less. The good thing is that when you change the team or one player they are ready and they’ve proved it today. It’s complicated because we have games every three days and it’s difficult to be always ready but my responsibility is this one, so the team can compete in every game. We’re doing great, but we haven’t done anything yet, this is very long”.

Real Madrid started good the game and they were very focused from the beginning: “It’s not for the draw, every game we play we should do it in this way. Keep with our job, be focused and play”, Zidane finished in León.

Real Madrid finished the draw against Cultural Leonesa in the Last 32 in Copa del Rey in the first leg thrashing (1-7) their rivals. Zidane put a great team in the pitch and Los Blancos were much better, showing why they are leaders of La Liga. Now, they can play the second leg with all the players from Castilla.

As it was expected, Zinedine Zidane introduced several changes in the team but he was able to gather a competitive squad to face Cultural Leonesa. For instance, Carvajal, Pepe, Toni Kroos, James Rodríguez, Isco or Morata started the game. With these amazing players, the team started the game very concentrated and the prize arrived soon. In the 6th minute, Zuiverloon scored an own goal after a free kick from Toni Kroos.

Real Madrid didn’t relax at all after the first goal. Cultural Leonesa had a good chance but Casilla saved it. However, the second goal was closest and Marco Asensio found the net in the 33rd minute. The youngster has already scored in all competitions -European Supercup, Champions League, Liga and Copa del Rey- in his first season with Los Blancos.

Real Madrid party didn’t finish in the second half, it was actually better. In the first minute, Morata scored the third. Real Madrid were unstoppable and Marco Asensio (53’) from outside the box and again Morata (55’) scored their second goal in the match. It was already 5-0 in the scorer but the best was still to come. Nacho scored the best goal tonight with an amazing volley. It’s worthy to check it several times. The game ended with the deserved goal for Cultural Leonesa, scored by Benja. In the last minute of the game, Mariano closed the scorer.

Great game for all the players. Morata, Lucas Vázquez, James Rodríguez, Isco or Nacho can gain some confidence ahead of a long season. They’ve shown Zidane that they have the level to play any time in any game.

Rafa Benítez is finally happy. After his terrible last season, now he has reasons to smile. Newcastle United thrashed yesterday (6-0) Preston North End in the Last 16 Round in the League Cup or EFL Cup in England and Newcastle went through to the Quarter-Finals Round. Only Alan Pardew could qualify the Magpies to this round in the last 40 years.

Besides his success in the EFL Cup, Newcastle are currently top of the table in the Championship with 31 points in 14 games, 3 points ahead of Brighton, the second in the table. Newcastle have now a run of five straight wins in the Championship and look unstoppable.

It wasn’t an easy start for Rafa Benítez. The Magpies kept most of the players who couldn’t avoid the relegation last year, including Shelvey, Gouffran, Anita, Ayoze o Mitrovic. They even signed Premier League players like Dwight Gayle, who has scored 11 goals in 12 appearances in Championship.

Obviously, Newcastle have the strongest squad in the second division but this doesn’t mean success. Actually, they started really bad the season with two defeats against Fulham and Huddersfield Town. Now, the Magpies are back in track and it looks like they can achieve the goal of promotion easily.

Rafa Benítez can finally smile. Only one year ago he lived a nightmare. He was sacked in January from Real Madrid. In November his team was thrashed at home by big rivals Barcelona (0-4) and he could never get the control back. The players didn’t back him, so Florentino fired him and hired Zinedine Zidane. In the meantime, Benítez signed for Newcastle to avoid the relegation, but he couldn’t achieve the goal. Real Madrid, meanwhile, won the Champions League and fought until the last game for La Liga.

Here you can watch the big game Newcastle United v Preston North End:

1
Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang is a target for Real Madrid. The players has said several times that he wants to play for Los Blancos and the Gabonese is showing a great quality to make his dream come true. However, it won’t be an easy or cheap transfer if Florentino Pérez finally decides to bring him on board.

According to the German newspaper Bild, Aubameyang transfer fee would be around €80M, a price for a star. This would mean that the Borussia Dortmund striker would be even more expensive than Cristiano Ronaldo, whose transfer fee was around €70M. Obviously, this summer we’ve seen how Manchester United or Juventus paid huge money for Paul Pogba or Gonzalo Higuaín. The African forward is not worse than the others.

He is continuing with his good job this season so far. In the 7 games, he’s appeared in the Bundesliga, he has scored 7 goals and he is currently in the second position in the goalscorer table after Köln striker Modeste. Last year, only in Bundesliga, he scored 25 goals in 31 games. Aubameyang has become one of the best scorers in the world.

In the Champions League he has shown also his quality. He faced Real Madrid in Dortmund but he was unable to score, after a great game from Real Madrid defenders. However, in the away game in Lisbon, he scored a perfect chip to open the scorer in Portugal.

Aubameyang’s grandfather was a big Real Madrid supporter because his mother’s family is Spanish. The striker said several times that he promised his grandfather that he would play eventually for Real Madrid. He’s trying hard, so this promise becomes true but it won’t be easy. Los Blancos have currently two good strikers in the squad –Benzema and Morata– and the club has been banned to sign any player in the next two transfer windows. It will be difficult that Borussia Dortmund could retain one year more a player like Aubameyang.

Los Blancos are preparing their first game in Copa del Rey against Cultural Leonesa, a rival from the Third Division of the Spanish football. Real Madrid shouldn’t have problems to solve the draw but they had bad experience in the past, including last year in Cádiz.

Due to the quality of the rival, it’s time for Zidane to make some changes in the squad and some players will have their opportunities to show their quality. For instance, Zizou confirmed that Casilla will be the goalkeeper in Copa del Rey. We have to see if the BBC will play or some other important footballers.

Apart from the game, Cristiano Ronaldo was the main issue in Zidane’s press conference before the Copa del Rey game. The Portuguese star missed several chances against Athletic Club and he was booed by Real Madrid supporters: “I don’t understand them but at the same time I tell you that I was also whistled. This can happen. The supporters are very demanding, Santiago Bernabéu is especial. Cristiano knows it and I’m not worried. If sometimes we hear boos neither… The most important thing is to continue with our challenge”.

Last time Cristiano Ronaldo scored at Bernabéu was against Sporting Portugal in the Champions League. In La Liga, he only scored against Osasuna despite he had several chances in the last game: “I’d rather he scores always two o three goals per game but I’m not worried because I know this will happen. Now he’s not taking the chances, but he’ll do it. Soon he will score. We have to be calm”.

Along with Cristiano Ronaldo, Karim Benzema and Gareth Bale are participating in all the games: “I have three genious and they are going to be very important for the team. The rest can play less but they are also important. There will be some players with more minutes than others. This is logic and I’m doing my job”, Zidane said in press conference.

Fabio Coentrao

Good news for Real Madrid. Little by little, Zinedine Zidane is recovering some injured players. The last one to be included in the list is Fabio Coentrao, who played his last game in the 1st of April, almost seven months ago. Luka Modric, Sergio Ramos or Casemiro are still out of the team.

The French coach has published the list of players who will face Cultural Leonesa on Wednesday in Copa del Rey. The main surprise was the introduction of Fabio Coentrao, who has yet to play with Real Madrid this season. The Portuguese was also included for the trip to Dortmund in Champions League but he was lately discarded and he couldn’t even be on the bench. He was also set to return against Eibar, but he had to rest a bit more in order to not get worse.

Coentrao suffered a important muscular injury back in April when he was defending Monaco. In this time, he missed the Euro with Portugal but he was able to come back to Real Madrid. Los Blancos only have one left back, so there is some good news for Zidane.

Apart from Coentrao, the other surprise in the list for the game in León is Mariano Díaz. The forward is not having many opportunities in La Liga, where he only played some minutes against Celta Vigo. He could have some opportunities against Cultural Leonesa.

Very important player will rest on Wednesday. For instance, Zidane hasn’t called Bale, Benzema or Cristiano Ronaldo for the game. Keylor Navas or Marcelo will stay in Madrid as well training for the game on Saturday against Alavés in La Liga.

The full list is:

Goalkeepers: Casilla and Rubén Yáñez.
Defenders: Pepe, Varane, Nacho, Carvajal, Coentrao and Danilo.
Midfielders: Kroos, James, Kovacic, Asensio and Isco.
Forwards: Lucas Vázquez, Mariano and Morata.

Cultural Leonesa vs Real Madrid will be the first game for Los Blancos in Copa del Rey after the shocking knock out last season with Cádiz for irregular line up with Denis Cheryshev. The goal is to win the competition, as they did in 2014 with Bale’s extraordinary goal against Barcelona.

Cultural Leonesa vs Real Madrid Preview

Copa del Rey starts for the big clubs and Real Madrid will be the first team to play the first leg. This is due to the FIFA World Cup in Japan, a tournament that Real Madrid have to play in December so they have to anticipate their draw against Cultural Leonesa.

Real Madrid face the game top of the table in La Liga after a suffered victory against Athletic Club. Los Blancos have won the last three games in a row against Betis, Legia and Athletic, so they are recovered after four straight draws.

They face in the Last 32 round Cultural Leonesa, a team for the Spanish Third División (Segunda B). They are top of their group with 26 points in 10 games, having won the last nine games in a row. There will be a huge party in León -north of Spain- to receive Real Madrid in a small city.

Cultural Leonesa vs Real Madrid Prediction

Zinedine Zidane will make several changes in the line up as they expect to win easily against a team from two lower divisions. There will be options for Morata or Lucas Vázquez, who showed great quality in the last La Liga games. The BBC should rest in the middle of a storm around Cristiano Ronaldo performance and, especially, after his last game against Athletic Club.

We can expect that Real Madrid will win the game without much problems although Cultural Leonesa is a good team. Los Blancos are having problems to keep a clean sheet and the have received goals in the last 7 games. Kiko Casilla is expected to return to the goal.

Real Madrid and Cultural Leonesa played once together. It was in the Spanish Cup in 1959-60. Then, Real Madrid beat 5-0 and 0-4 the team from León. Can we expect an easy victory again?
