Real Madrid have a very complete squad this year. Zinedine Zidane has covered all the positions of the field with two possible players. The French manager has many doubts when he must choose the starting 11 for a match because all the players of the sqaud are prepared to play.

The position where Zidane has more doubts is in the right back. Los Blancos have covered very well this position. Dani Carvajal and Danilo are the two players who can play. Both have shown that they can play in Real Madrid and as the time passes the manager has more doubts in who must trust to be the right back in the important matches.

With the game of the national teams, Zidane made many changes in his line-up. Yesterday it was the opportunity for Danilo. He didn´t play any match in the league and this one was a perfect chance for him. The Brazilian player performed a great match against Osasuna. He defended very good and he even scored a goal. Zidane talked after the game about the good game of Danilo.

Danilo was signed 2 years ago with Real Madrid. He was one of the most important players in Porto and Real Madrid signed him for €30M. Last year Danilo played 24 games in La Liga and 7 in Champion League. Danilo couldn´t finish the year in the starting 11 but it seems that this year he he has adapted well to what Zidane wants and can “fight” with Carvajal for the position.

Carvajal has been here many years. The youngster right back has become in one of the best right defenders in the world. Real Madrid gave him on loan to Germany to have minutes and grow as a player. When Real Madrid noticed that his player was being one of the best players in the Bundesliga, they didn´t doubt to buy the Spaniard back. This year is the fourth season of Carvajal in Madrid and every year he is improving more and more, being a key player for Zidane.

Let’s see what decision Zidane makes about these two players. The only thing we can say is that this are good news for Real Madrid because it´s synonymous that Real Madrid have a great team.

Luka Modric is being one the best players in Real Madrid in the beginning of the season. The Croatian midfielder is a key player for this squad and yesterday he played a great match scoring a beautiful goal. He was substituted in the minute 63 thinking in the Champions League match against Sporting Lisbon. Modric spoke about the feelings Real Madrid is having, where he wants to retire, the FIFA ban and the goals Real Madrid have for this season.

When the journalists asked him about the match of yesterday against Osasuna the Croatian player answered “We played a good match and we scored five goals. At the end we relaxed a bit, but it’s normal. The temperature in the field was very high, but in the end we did good game and we’re happy with the win. We must continue”. Modric said.

Real Madrid supporters applauded when the Croatian midfielder left the field in the mintue 63. Modric was very happy for this and he affirmed: “I want to thank the fans for the affection they have with me. I´m very happy about this. I will give everything I have in this field for the team every time I play“, Modric explained.

The journalist asked him if he wants to retire in Madrid: “Everyone wants to retire at Real Madrid. It is the best team in the world. I have said it many time that’s why is my dream. We´ll see what happens.”

Modric didn’t want to talk about the ban of FIFA Real Madrid received: “I don´t want to talk about this, but I think Real Madrid can survive with the squad we have right now, we have a very complete team”, Modric said.

When Modric was asked about the objectives for this year he aswered: “Real Madrid always want to win the Champions League but for many years we did not win La Liga. So this year is our priority. We will try to do everything to win it. We want to focus on the league, more than in other competitions, it´s my opinion”, Modric explained.

Zinedine Zidane talked after the victory against Osasuna. Real Madrid won 5-2 with a team plenty of changes thinking in the Champions League match next week. The Real Madrid manager spoke about the debut of Cristiano, the rotations, Modric, Benzema and Danilo.

The journalists asked Zidane about the rotations he did in the starting 11 of today “ Today I´ve done it like this because of the selection matches our players played and the number of the games we have to play in the next weeks. Wednesday we have to play another match and we want to continue our good results until now.”

The French manager also talked about Cristiano Ronaldo and his return “ He is happy and we enjoyed he is in the field. He played half an hour and against Sporting we will see what happens. There are many games and we must be careful.” Zidane answered about the return of the Portuguese star.

Danilo played a great game today and he even scored a goal. Zidane also talked about the Brazilian winger “It´s very difficlult to make the line-up. It is the most complicated postion becaise both are doing it very well. I´m very happy with Danilo and Carvajal, both will play during the season.” Zidane explained.

Luca Modric has been the best player this afternoon. All the supporters that went to Santiago Bernabéu applauded the Croatian midfielder when he leaved the game. Zidane talked about his player “ We knoow what type of player is Luka. He don´t need too much information. I´m very happywith the ovation Modric received, he deserves it, is an answer to all the work he does. He is a player-manager.”

Benzema also returned today having a few minutes today and his compatriot talked about him “I saw him vey good and pleased with what he has done today” Zidane said.

Real Madrid played his third match in the regular season against Osasuna in Santiago Bernabéu. Los Blancos played a great offensive match that finished 5-2. Zinedine Zidane decided that this was a good match to make changes in the line-up. Crisitano Ronaldo debuted in the season replacing Marco Asensio in the starting 11. Nacho and Danilo were the wingers of Real Madrid for this game and Pepe replaced Varane in the defense. Casemiro had a rest and Kovacic replaced him in the line-up.

Los Blancos started the match very concentrate. In the fifth minute Real Madrid scored the first goal. The goal came from a great pass of Gareth Bale to Cristiano Ronaldo and the Portuguese scored his first goal of the season. With the lead, Los Blancos tried to control the game with short passes and waiting their moment to score the second. At the end of the fist half Real Madrid scored two goals in a row. Danilo that was one surprise in the line- up scored the second from a great shot and Sergio Ramos with a wonderful header scored the third one before the end of the first half.

The second half started quite similar as the first one. In the minute 55 Pepe scored a header form a corner from Kroos. Five minutes later, Luka Modric did the fifth goal for Real Madrid form outside the area. Zinedine Zidane started to think in the match of Champions League next week and he changed Cristiano Ronaldo, Luka Modric and Gareth Bale. The players who enetred the pitch were Marco Asensio, Karim Benzema that reappered afer two months and Lucas Vázquez.

Osasuna took advantage from this situation and they were able to score two goal in a row in the last minutes of the second half. Osasuna also had a penalty kick but Kiko Casillamad a great save. With the entrance of Karim Benzema, Real Madrid could score more goals but the bar and Nauzet prevented a greater distance on the scoreboared. Real Madrid finally won 5-2 and now is time to think in Sporing Lisbon.

Cristiano Ronaldo returns to the field of Santiago Bernabéu after he recovered from his injury he had on his knee in the final of the Euro of France. The Portuguese star returns to achieve new personal records he can only reach.

Cristiano Ronaldo can be this year the only player who has been able to score 30 goals in 7 consecutive seasons. Cristiano has scored 30 goals in the 6 consecutive season with Real Madrid. In the 2011/2012 season he scored 40 goals, since then he scored 46, 34, 31, 48 and 35. These are numbers of a player that wants to outdo each year and don´t satisfied with what he has done.

Another record that Cristiano can achieve this year is, that he can be the only player who wins five Golden Balls. Cristiano has three Golden Balls and this may be the year that increases his distance with Messi which has four. The last Ballon D’Or Cristiano won was in October of 2015 because of the 48 goals he scored in the season.

Cristiano can also reach the record of scoring 5 or more goals in a match in three consecutive seasons. April 5 of 2015 Cristiano scored 5 goals in the game against Granada that finished 9-1 and on September of 2015 he was able to score 5 goals in the victory of Real Madrid against Espanyol 0-6.

Nobody has won two consecuitve Champions League with the same shirt in the history. With the Champions League Real Madrid won last year against Atlético de Madrid, the players managed by Zinedine Zidane have the oportunuty to make history if they are able to achieve the 12 Champions League for Real Madrid.

We will see if Cristiano Ronaldo can achieve these records because it would be a great new for Real Madrid. We are getting used to these numbers but it´s incredible what the Portuguese striker is achieving with Real Madrid. Despite his age, Cristiano has many years ahead in Real Madrid and he will be part of the history of Real Madrid.

Real Madrid are back to Santiago Bernabéu this Saturday (15:00, UK time) to face Osasuna, a newly promoted team who have only picked one point in the first two games in La Liga. Zinedine Zidane will have to introduce some changes after the international fixtures early this week. Los Blancos look to earn another three points and become top of the table winning all three games played.

Osasuna shouldn’t be a difficult rival. This newly promoted team hasn’t signed many players this summer. So far, the drew at Málaga in the very last minute and lost at home (0-2) against Real Sociedad. Osasuna played at Bernabéu for the last time in April 2014 and they were thrashed 4-0, with Cristiano Ronaldo scoring two wonderful goals. Actually, the Northern team has not picked up a point at Santiago Bernabéu since 2005, when the drew (1-1).

The good news for Real Madrid is that the BBC is back. Cristiano Ronaldo is set to return after winning the Euro. The final against France was his last game and now he’s fully recovered, at least to play one hour. Zidane has confirmed in press conference that Karim Benzema is also set to play, although the manager hasn’t said if the French will start the game. Gareth Bale, who scored two goals with Wales, will play from the beginning.

Zidane didn’t want to say the lineup for the game, but he confirmed that James Rodríguez, Casemiro and Marcelo won’t play. They are out of the list for the game because they arrived later this week after playing in South America with Colombia and Brazil. All three will rest and we can’t see again James Rodríguez in the lineup. Isco, Keylor Navas and Coentrao are also injured and will miss the game.

Danilo and Kovacic could start the game and replace Marcelo and Casemiro. Marco Asensio, who has started all the games, could go back to the bench if the BBC finally play against Osasuna. The three points are the main goal to start the Champions League with optimism. On Wednesday, Real Madrid will face Sporting Lisbon and Zidane needs to think about rotating the players so they don’t get tired.

Zinedine Zidane spoke in press conference before the game Real Madrid-Osasuna this Saturday. The team is back to work after two weeks and the squad is looking forward to playing in the next fixtures. After Osasuna, Real Madrid will face Sporting Portugal, in their debut in the Champions League.

Of course, Zidane was asked about the ban of signing new players in the next two transfer windows. The French manager is also involved because his children were included in the FIFA report: “I don’t understand anything about the ban. I can talk you about my children. They were born here, they’ve lived here the whole life and it’s ridiculous that they can’t play football. It bothers me and I don’t understand what is going on. I hope this can be solved quickly”, Zidane said in press conference.

The most important thing right now is tomorrow’s game. Real Madrid come back to Bernabéu after beating Celta 2-1 in a difficult game: “I don’t have any doubts that Bernabéu will be with us. Tomorrow’s game won’t be easy”.

Zidane is glad all the players are back to Madrid without any physical problem. However, Casemiro, James Rodríguez and Marcelo won’t play against Osasuna and they will rest because they arrived very late from South America. But, will the BBC play again? “You’ll see the lineup tomorrow. We’re happy to have Karim Benzema again with us”.

Isco, Coentrao and Keylor Navas are out of the list. The Spaniard is set to return soon, but the Portuguese and the Costa Rican will stay out some more weeks. Zidane doesn’t want to rush and risk them, so they have to be patient.

Regarding the long squad, Zidane spoke how he is going to handle the team: “I’m trying to be sincere with all the players. We have a 24 players squad and only 11 can play from the beginning and I can change three… I’ve always said that the most important thing is the group and this won’t change with me. Everybody is important, but, obviously, there are players who will play more than others”.

The two teams from Madrid cannot buy any player in the next two transfer windows. FIFA have finally banned Real Madrid and Atlético de Madrid so both cannot make any signings until January 2018. The worst news have finally arrived to the capital. FC Barcelona also suffered the same banned and they stayed without making any transfer in more than one year.

The Appeal Committee of FIFA said in a statement that they “confirm in their entirety the decisions rendered by the FIFA Disciplinary Committee in the respective cases relating to the protection of minors”. According to FIFA, Real Madrid and Atlético de Madrid didn’t obey the rules regarding foreign-born youngsters.

When Real Madrid knew the ban, the club said that this sanction was unfair and FIFA even made the mistake of including Zinedine Zidane’s children in their report about protection of minors. Real Madrid and Atlético de Madrid said that they will appeal to the Court of Arbitration of Sport (CAS).

Real Madrid board is shocked after the band and they confirmed they will appeal to the CAS. Besides, they published a press release yesterday where the club says that the ban is “very unfair and against the principles of right”. The club is “convinced” that the CAS will solve the issue in positive way for the Spanish club and hope they could know the verdict “as soon as possible”.

Both clubs knew that this could happen. On the 14th of January, FIFA made public the banned for both clubs, who appealed to the Committee. Therefore, Atlético de Madrid and Real Madrid have been well prepared for this. The lawyers have been working to prepare an appeal that will be presented in the following days.

Luckily for Real Madrid, Zidane has a wide squad to play with in the next year. The team has more than 23 players ready to appear in any game, including several talented youngsters. Isco, Asensio, Mariano, Nacho, Carvajal, Odegaard… Real Madrid have bought a lot of yougnsters in the last years, so there shouldn’t be any problem in the team performance for the ban.

James Rodríguez rol is getting less important in Real Madrid in the last months. The Colombian was a star in his first season in Spain with Carlo Ancelotti but he’s passed from the pitch to the bench with Rafa Benítez and Zinedine Zidane. Now, after his good performances with Colombia, the French manager might think of including him again in the starting eleven and give him another chance.

Since Zidane’s arrival, James Rodríguez is the fourth top scorer in the squad. The playmaker has scored 4 goals, like Jesé Rodríguez, although he hasn’t enjoyed many minutes in these months. Only Karim Benzema, Cristiano Ronaldo and Gareth Bale has scored more goals than him. Even Isco, Morata or Asensio have scored less goals.

In his first season in Spain, James Rodríguez scored 17 goals and gave 18 assists, amazing numbers for a new arrival. He was one of the stars of the team with Carlo Ancelotti but his performance went down last season and he lost his place in the lineup. Now, after a summer full of rumours, he needs to do his best to recover his position in the team.

Last year numbers weren’t that bad. James Rodríguez scored 8 goals and gave 10 assists, however he didn’t play good football and he spent most time on the bench, including the final of the Champions League. He was on the bench in most of the important games and when he had the chance of playing he didn’t show his quality and there was a lack of interest, according to some supporters.

These things are not happening when James travel to Colombia. He was the star in the last Copa América and this past week he scored another goal against Venezuela in the qualifying game for the Russian World Cup. Colombia supporters and the coach complain because of the lack of opportunities with Zidane on the bench. Now it’s time for James to prove himself as the star he should be.

After two weeks without any game, Real Madrid come back to Santiago Bernabéu stadium to face Osasuna.
