Monchi said surprisingly he wanted to resign as a sporting director for Sevilla. The 47 year-old-born has been a key piece in the last decade of success for the Spanish team.

He has been able to spot talents such as Carlos Bacca, Luis Fabiano or Dani Alves and sell them for a lot of money. The most important thing about his job is that he’s been doing great deals for over a decade. He has a gift for sporting director.

According some media as The Independent, Real Madrid and Manchester United could be behind his resignation. Both teams are in need of a person with his skills and Monchi could be the perfect fit.

Since Valdano’s departure under Mourinho’s management, Real Madrid haven’t had a person with these skills. With Zidane in charge of the team, Monchi could be the right person to have for spotting quality and new players.

After lifting the 11th Champions League title, Zinedine Zidane has all the credit at Bernabéu Stadium. In only six months, the French coach has been able to change the team and has become a leader for his players.

Now, it’s time to plan the next season and there are some players that could arrive to Bernabéu stadium, according to the press. These players are not easy to get but Florentino can arrive everywhere.

Paulo Dybala. Real Madrid needs another striker, especially if Jesé finally leaves the club. The Juventus player has called the attention of Europe after his sensational first season at ‘Bianconeri’. He is very fast and has become one of the topscorer in Serie A.

Robert Lewandowski. The Polish player scored four goals against Real Madrid in a Champions League semifinal. Since then, he’s been always loved for the Real Madrid board but it’s very difficult to sign him from Bayern de Múnich. Besides, it might not be the perfect fit for Cristiano Ronaldo and Gareth Bale in the forward line.

Paul Pogba. Despite of the arrival of Casemiro, Real Madrid need more ‘muscle’ in the midfield. Kroos and Modric were exhausted at the end of the season and James and Isco haven’t proof themselves as good sustitutes. The French player could be perfect for Real Madrid.

David Alaba. The team needs another left back. Marcelo is doing a great job in his positition but he doesn’t have another player to fight for the place in the line up. With Arbeloa’s departure and Coentrao, the club should sign another left back.

After conquering the 11th Champions League trophy, Real Madrid is thinking in the next season and how to have a competitive squad. The left back position needs some reinforcement because Marcelo is the only player who can play in this position.

David Alaba, the Bayern de Múnich player, is one of the targets of Real Madrid, according to Diario As. The 23 year-old-born player is one of the best fotoballers in this position and Los Blancos have been interested for a long time.

José Ángel Sánchez, Managing Director of Real Madrid, travelled several times to Múnich to have a meeting with Alaba’s father although he renovated his contract last March until 2021.

Real Madrid bid 50M€ for the defender but Bayern has already rejected the offer. The German club wants, at least, 80M€, a really high number for a defender.

Keylor Navas has been ruled out for the Copa América due to a injury in the Achilles tendon in his left foot. The Costa Rican goalkeeper was expected to be in the list for the Copa América Centenario.

Navas is been really unlucky because this is the second straight year he has to miss an international competition with his national team. Last year he couldn’t play the Golden Cup in the Concacaf because of the same reason.

“We cannot count on him. He had the illusion to come to the Copa América but, unfortunately, his last efforts have taking the toll”, said the Costa Rican national team coach, Óscar Ramírez.

Navas joins Varane and Carvajal, who also will miss the Euro in France this year. It’s been a really long season for Real Madrid players and now they’re paying the consequences.

After lifting the 11th Champions League trophy, it’s time to think in the future at Real Madrid. There are a lot of players who haven’t performed a good season and might end up in another club at the end of the summer.

Isco or James Rodríguez are two players with an unknown future. The Colombian player didn’t play a minute in the final and he doesn’t have Zidane’s confidence.

However, James wants to stay at Bernabéu: “In football you never know nothing. I want to stay here and I always wanted to stay here. My idea is to stay a lot of years. We have to think in the future, and it’s going to be good. I’m happy here. It’s the ideal club”, he said to Antena 3 after the final.

Now James Rodríguez is travelling to Colombia to play the Copa America with his national team. After the tournament, we’ll see what is the future of James Rodríguez after a disappointed season.

The Bernabéu stadium lived a great day on Sunday. The whole squad visited the stadium to celebrate the 11th Champions League with the fans. 80.000 people were in Chamartín to cheer the team up and enjoy a great party.

The team had a busy Sunday ahead. Real Madrid visited the Town Hall and the Regional Palace at Puerta del Sol to offer the cup to the main institutions in the city. Afterwards, around 22.00, they arrived at Bernabéu, where the club had organized a party for the squad and the supporters.

There were five main characters at the party: the cup, Zinedine Zidane, Sergio Ramos, Arbeloa and Cristiano Ronaldo.

The captain, Sergio Ramos, was one of the key players that wanted to thank again Zinedine Zidane for his job at Real Madrid. The defender and the coach were cheered up by the fans and everybody sang ‘Zizou, Zizou’.

Arbeloa said goodbye again to the Real Madrid fans and wanted to wear a Cheryshev t-shirt, remembering the youngster who played against Cadiz and ended up in a suspension for the Copa del Rey.

Cristiano Ronaldo also wanted to speak to the supporters and stated very clear that he wanted to stay at Real Madrid: “I am so proud to wear this white shirt, it suits me well and I’m very happy”.

Now it’s time to enjoy the holidays and the Champions League after a very difficult season.

Daniel Carvajal

Daniel Carvajal ended up the Champions League final with tear in his eyes. It wasn’t the emotion for winning the 11th trophy or the bitterness of missing some important minutes of the clash. He knew that the injury was serious. And he was indeed correct.

He’s been having some medical tests and the results aren’t positive. Real Madrid defender will miss the Euro 2016. The competition starts only in 15 days and the Spanish national team cannot risk to call an injury footballer. Bellerín, the Arsenal player, will be his replacement.

Carvajal is the second Real Madrid player to miss the Euro 2016 after Varane, who suffered a thigh injury just before the Champions League clash.

Carvajal is been a key player in the season for Real Madrid. Although he had to fight with Danilo for a place in the starting eleven, the youngster won the battle and he’s one of the favourite players of the team for the supporters.

Lisbon 2014 and Milan 2016. Real Madrid defender Sergio Ramos scored again in a Champions final. In penalties he also scored his penalty and he was awarded as the MVP of the final.

Even Ramos already knows he’s the right player for finals, and he told joking to Real president, Florentino Pérez, “‘Presi’, I won’t live forever, I tell you only this”, in a double interview for both in Spanish TV Antena 3.

He continued joking saying “now you know, you have to raise the bonus”. He added thanking his management as Real president and he finished saying “where ‘Presi’ is, Ramos will be there”.

This time Ramos has won the Champions as Real captain (in Lisbon was the sescond captain), and when he was asked about his feelings after winning the 11th Champions, he said “there are few things you can compare to celebrating a title of this magnitude. It has been a difficult season but the important thing is that we have achieved the goal”.

Zinedine Zidane, Real Madrid coach, confessed “I dreamt winning this title when I became Real coach. I knew it was possible and more when you work in a team with such history. We did it with effort and we fought until last. They (the players) deserve all”.

Zidane won a Champions title as Real player, another as Ancelotti’s assistant and the last one as a coach of the first team. A relationship which started thanks to Real president, Florentino Pérez, and Zidane said “I’m happy because he gave me the opportunity”.

“I’m so glad because I’m part of this big club for a long time. I’m very proud to be part of this big family”, he added.

Regarding the match, Zinedine Zidane said he saw “a great equality until last”. He admitted they suffered a lot but he denied he thought the possibility a reverse situation of Lisbon two years ago against Atlético too, when Real scored in the last minute, because “that’s negative and I like being positive”.

Real Madrid forward Cristiano Ronaldo didn’t play very well in the Champions final but in penalties he scored the decisive goal, the last one that meant Real winning the trophy.

After the game, Cristiano confessed that he asked Zidane to be the fifth kicker because he had “a vision” and he knew his penalty “was going to give the victory”.

Regarding Zidane, Portugal’s captain said he did “a phenomenal job and he deserves it because he’s a sir, he’s humble and I’m happpy for him”.

The season didn’t start as Cristiano would have liked, but finally he has won his third Champions, being the top scoarer of Champions (16) and scoring more than 50 goals, a detail which he boasts defining “something unique in the history”.

Now we will have another debate with next Ballond’Or but Ronaldo said he isn’t “obsessed” about it.
