Gareth Bale says Real Madrid will keep on working hard to win titles in 2016 and he wants to improve as a player.

The forward netted four goals in the sensational 10-2 win over Rayo Vallecano at the weekend but is keeping his feet on the ground by admitting he can still improve.

The 26-year-old, a 91-million summer signing from Tottenham Hotspur in 2013, has scored eight goals in 11 league games this season and 36 in La Liga since his switch. Gary Lineker is the only British or Irish striker ahead of him to have scored more La Liga goals – on 42.

Speaking to the media after the emphatic win, Bale stated: “I hope to keep improving in 2016. I think that we had a good game today even if they were left with nine men. We are going to work hard to win titles. The relationship between the players and the manger is very good.”

And the Welshman went on to add: “We have to put more work into every aspect of our game and fortunately we have time to improve. In the second half against Villarreal we could have scored four or five goals but we lacked accuracy. These things happen in football, we are not robots.”

Real Madrid winger Lucas Vasquez says having the BBC firing on all cylinders is key if Los Blancos are to overhaul Barcelona and Atletico de Madrid in the league.

Gareth Bale, Karim Benzema and Cristiano Ronaldo scored nine between them on Sunday afternoon as the 10-time Champions League winner ran riot against Rayo Vallecano, demolishing their neighbours 10-2.

And speaking to reporters, Vasquez said the rest of the players in the squad have their lives made easier when the front three are on form.

“It is really positive for us when the three players are doing well. It is a bonus and we really notice it. It is evident that when we have so much space in the opponent’s half we are lethal and we saw that today,” he stated.

Speaking about the events on Sunday – the first time a team had scored 10 in a top flight match in Spain in 55 years – the winger commented: “The game began a little crazily, and after the first sending off, we were more comfortable. We made the most of the rival’s opponents and in the end the three points are very well-deserved. Finishing like that before this little break gives us a lot of confidence. So many goals in a game allow us to go home very happy.”

Real Madrid are closing in on Bayern Munich striker Robert Lewandowski, Spanish press has reported.

Los Blancos have been pursuing the signing of the Poland international for a couple of years, and now that Pep Guardiola is leaving Munich, they believe they can finally convince Lewandowski to take a new step in his career.

Apparently, there is a high competition to sign Lewandowski. Paris Saint-Germain have reportedly offer the 27-year-old a contract worth 15 million euros per season, three more than Los Blancos and five more than Bayern.

Manchester United are also interested in the striker and are reportedly planning to offer Bayern 70 million euros next summer. Yet, the Germans plan to convince Lewandowski to stay by bringing Carlo Ancelotti to replace Guardiola.

Yarmolenko, another option for Los Blancos

The latest Real Madrid transfer rumours also include Dynamo Kyiv Andriy Yarmolenko becoming a target for Los Blancos. The 26-year-old has a buy-out clause of just 25 million euros and is one of the most sought-after strikers in Europe. Chelsea, Barcelona and Manchester United have reportedly shown an interest in signing him. Los Blancos might seek to bring sign him in January, although the player would most likely stay in Kyiv on loan for the rest of the season.

Meanwhile, Spanish football magazine Don Balon has reported Valencia are interested in signing Los Blancos defender Pepe. The Portugal international has recently extended his contract with Los Blancos until 2017, but Real would be open to letting him go given his age. Yet, Valencia will have to make a good offer to convince Florentino Perez.

Real Madrid right back Danilo says the players are focused on La Liga and will work hard to put themselves back in the race to win the title.

Los Blancos won their final match before the winter break in emphatic style – thrashing Rayo Vallecano 10-2. Danilo opened the scoring at the Santiago Bernabeu with the other nine goals being shared by the BBC.

Rafa Benitez’s team were jeered early on after falling behind, but speaking to reporters Danilo said the players knew exactly what they had to do. And he added they are working hard to haul themsleves back into contention in the title race after recent defeats to Barcelona, Sevilla and Villarreal.

“We are happy with the result and the goals. I don’t think we went out there switched off. The most important thing is that we’re continuing our work, doing so as a team and that we turned the game around,” the Brazilian commented.

And he continued: “The fans are right, we are working for them, and we continue to work for Benítez too, he is a great manager. Our sights are still set on La Liga. We have to keep working and not think about what others are saying. We have to take things game by game, that is the most important thing.”

Florentino Perez, Real Madrid president

Florentino Perez has called for Spanish press to be responsible at his speech during the traditional annual Christmas lunch with the Madrid journalists.

Perez explains he understands sports journalism in Spain is often closer to entertainment than to proper news reporting, but told the press that they “have a responsibility to report everything that goes on at our club while adhering to the values of journalism.”

“Real Madrid is one of this country’s most beloved symbols. For many people Real Madrid represents Spain. That brings with it an enormous amount of responsibility for all of us and we have the obligation to protect that image, lead by example and be transparent, and continue to add to the Real Madrid legend,” he added.

Florentino thank the media for their “dedication” to the club: “Your work is very important as it informs lovers of football about what Real Madrid represents to millions of people.”

The Los Blancos president also explained he is “aware that we have to show respect to our fans, our members and the press, who in turn have always shared this sense of responsibility with us.”

He closed the event wishing all the journalists happy holiday with their loved ones and hoping “that 2016 brings you good health, which is the most important thing of all.”

Sergio Ramos

Real Madrid captain Sergio Ramos says all the players are supportive of club president Florentino Perez and boss Rafa Benitez.

The manager has been under increasing pressure in recent weeks following damaging defeats to Barcelona, Sevilla and Villarreal.

Los Blancos responding in emphatic style with a 10-2 win over La Liga strugglers Rayo Vallecano at the weekend, but even that wasn’t without its problems as the home fans jeered and whistled when the hosts went 2-1 down early on.

Last month, Perez came out in support of Benitez saying “he is the solution, not the problem”.

And speaking to the media after the match, Ramos said the players were supportive of both men.

“If that’s what the president says then he has his reasons. We’re just the pawns here, he’s the king. We all support the manager. He tries to bring his own ideas and we try to execute them, every player tries to do it in his own way,” he stated.

The captain also urged the fans to show more support when times are tough rather than getting on players backs so quickly. Ronaldo appeared to gesture at the fans in the game on Sunday, and got the backing of Ramos.

“Sometimes players are free to express their feelings. He always says what he thinks. When we needed support most from the fans we got whistles, sometimes you need a little love. People single you out when they think you’re not giving your all. When they see you giving it all you have they don’t get on your case,” he stated.

Rayo Vallecano boss Paco Jemez says his players were in tears in the dressing room after being thrashed by Real Madrid on Sunday afternoon.

Los Blancos were trailing 2-1 early on but two sendings off for the visitors changed the course of the game. The Santiago Bernabeu side then went on to win 10-2 – the first time a team has scored double figures in a La Liga match for 55 years.

Gareth Bale scored four, Karim Benzema grabbed a hat trick and Cristiano Ronaldo scored two on what was an excellent day for the BBC. Right back Danilo got the scoreboard rolling after just three minutes.

Speaking after the game, Jemez said he thought he was living a nightmare but what was unfolding before his eyes was in fact real.

“It’s been a long time since I saw something so grotesque and shameful as what I did today. We lost everything, plus a lot of credibility. We feel downtrodden and humiliated and what happened hurts us all,” Jemez told reporters.
“When you see guys built like castles in the dressing room crying, you feel sorry for them. There was little to explain, I could only console them. The damage will be felt for the whole week.
“I imagine the fans of Madrid will be very happy, but this should not happen in the best league in the world, neither here nor anywhere. I found the game strange at times. I thought it was a dream, but it wasn’t. It was real.”

Real Madrid goalkeeper Keylor Navas says the players and fans must get behind boss Rafa Benitez and show solidarity as the season progresses.

Los Blancos routed Rayo Vallecano yesterday 10-2 – the first time a team has scored double figures in a top flight game in Spain since 1960.

But it wasn’t rosy throughout as the visitors took a shock 2-1 lead early on, prompting many Madridistas to show their anger.

Having lost three of their past five league games and with doubts about the long-term future at the club, Benitez has been under big pressure at the Santiago Bernabeu.

But Costa Rican shot stopper Navas urged everyone associated with the club to get behind the manager and pull in the right direction to help the club get back on top in the league.

“As a keeper you always want to keep a clean sheet. We must turn the page and move on. We started the game well, scored, but then lost concentration and intensity. Later we took control of the game and won well. It’s normal for fans to be like this as we are not top of the table. We are all with the coach – this is a moment for all at Madrid to be united,” he told reporters after the match.

Real Madrid boss Rafa Benitez says his team did exactly what they needed to do in the remarkable game against Rayo Vallecano.

Los Blancos won an extraordinary match 10-2 coming from behind against the 9 men from Vallecas.

Real took an early lead though Danilo but fell 2-1 behind after 12 minutes. The 10-time Champions League winners were not playing well and the fans voiced their displeasure. But the visitors had two men sent off by the 20 minute mark and from then on it was one way traffic.

Gareth Bale scored four goals, Karim Benzema grabbed a hat trick and Cristiano Ronaldo scored two as Real became the first team in 55 years to score double figures in a league game.

Speaking afterwards, Benitez said his team deserved to win and played in the right way.

“For a few minutes we lost concentration, but then the team has done what it had to do. We, as a team, have done what we had to do. Score goals and win the game,” he commented.

About the reaction of the fans, he continued: “The fans were happier after we started scoring the goals. I arrived late to dugout and focused on the game. Real Madrid’s anthem shows us what we must do… ‘Hala Madrid & nothing else’.”

British tabloid The Sun has recently claimed that Cristiano Ronaldo is in a gay relationship with Moroccan kickboxer Badr Hari.

The Sun quoted journalist Daniel Riolo, who said at a French television show that the Real Madrid start “takes three or four jets a week to see a friend in Morocco to cuddle.”

The Portugal international shared a series of pictures a few days ago, on a holiday he took with his Moroccan friend. In one of them, Hari is lifting Ronaldo in his arms and the comment shared with the picture was: “Just married. Always there to pick you up, bro.”

The Sun aims to reinforce their theory by claiming that Ronaldo has had cosmetic surgery on his nose, as if that was another proof of him being homosexual.

This is not the first time Ronaldo is labelled as “gay.” Back in 2013, super star Rihanna also hinted that the Portuguese is homosexual. Asked about the rumours of a relationship between her and Ronaldo, the singer simply replied: “I have many gay friends and I support sexual diversity.”

Is Ronaldo really homosexual?

Is there really any proof that Cristiano Ronaldo is gay? The truth is there are no solid facts that support this sensationalistic theory. The Portuguese footballer has always dated women, and he has behaved with his male friends as any other man would.

The fact that he shaves his chest, takes good care of his skin and likes to dress smart doesn’t make him a homosexual.

So, it doesn’t seem like Ronaldo is gay, but the important question here is: Does it matter? Journalists and fans should be more interested in what the players do on the pitch. Certainly football would benefit from more gay players having the courage to come out of the closet, but that’s their own decision to make.
