Who Are The Favourites To Win The Champions League?

Many of us will be having a flutter on the winner of this season’s Champions League. There are some great tips available over at soccertipster.org on the bookies favourites which we’ve listed below, and also on some outsiders that have potential to do well.

PSG – 3/1

With the arrival of Lionel Messi to the club from Barcelona, the odds on PSG to win both domestic and European competitions have been slashed. They’re the bookie’s favourites at odds of 3/1 to lift the trophy which are a little too short in our opinion given the quality of the teams they will have to face on the route to the final.

Manchester City – 4/1

City are always going to be up there as one of the favourites given the quality and depth in their squad.

Pep Guardiola’s side made it to the final last year only to lose 1-0 to fellow Premier League side Chelsea and will be looking to go one step further this time around and lift the Champions League trophy for the first time in the club’s history.

Bayern Munich – 8/1

Bayern have always played a prominent role in this competition and went all the way in 2020 by beating PSG in the final. They’ve lifted the trophy a total of 6 times and will be hoping to add to that tally this year. They certainly have the players and the ability to beat the best of teams but will have to play to their maximum potential throughout the tournament.

Chelsea – 9/1

The current champions will be looking to retain their title this year and the arrival of Romalu Lukaka will surely boost their chances of doing so.

The London side have improved under Tuchel and they stand a good chance of having a good run in this year’s competition.

Liverpool – 10/1

The 2018/19 UEFA Champions League winners were knocked out in the last 16 by Atletico Madrid in 2020 and in the quarter-finals last year by Real Madrid. Klopp’s side certainly have the ability to go all the way in the tournament but they will have to keep their players fit as there are some concerns about depth in their squad.

Other Contenders

Manchester United are currently priced at 17/1 to win their first Champions League since 1999. Although possible, they’re unlikely to see off several of the top teams along the way and their price reflects that.

The departure of Lionel Messi from Barcelona, along with several other players, have resulted in bookies offering odds of 22/1 for them to win the 2022 Champions League. It’s not often you see odds that high on Barca to do well in Europe but there are big concerns around the future of the club and the squad that they will have throughout the current season.

When Is The Champions League Final?

The 2021/22 Champions League Final is set to take place on Saturday 28th May 2022. It will be played at the Krestovsky Stadium in Saint Petersburg, which is the home ground of Russian team, FC Zenit Saint Petersburg.

Similar to the Champions League, the 2021/22 Europa League kick-off next month with qualifying fixtures taking place from the beginning of August.

There are a few changes with this year’s tournament which are worth taking note of if you are used to the existing format.

Europa League Changes For The 2021/22 Competition

Firstly, there will be only 32 teams in the group stage rather than the usual 48. These teams will be drawn into eight groups of four with the winners of each group progressing through to the round of the last 16 automatically.

Secondly, UEFA have introduced an additional knockout round which will take place prior to the round of the last 16. These fixtures will feature the runners up of the eight groups along with the top eight teams that finish in third place in the groups. The eight winners of these knockout fixtures will progress through to the round of the last 16 along with the group’s winners.

2021/22 Europa League Teams

The 32 teams in this year’s competition will feature:

  • 12 team who automatically qualify
  • 10 UEFA Europa League play-off winners
  • 10 sides transferring from the UEFA Champions League play-offs and third qualifying round

The following teams are confirmed to have qualified for the group stages of the tournament:

  • Belgium: Genk
  • Czech Republic: Sparta Prague
  • Denmark: Midtjylland
  • Spain: Real Sociedad, Real Betis
  • England: Leicester City, West Ham
  • France: Lyon, Marseille
  • Germany: Eintracht Frankfurt, Bayer Leverkusen
  • Italy: Napoli, Lazio
  • Portugal: Braga
  • Russia: Lokomotiv Moskow, Spartak Moskow

When Does The Europa League Group Stage Start?

Qualifying fixtures come to an end this week with the group stage draw taking place on Friday 26t7th August at 11am BST.

Group stage matches start in mid-September on the following dates:

  • Matchday 1: 16 September
  • Matchday 2: 30 September
  • Matchday 3: 21 October
  • Matchday 4: 4 November
  • Matchday 5: 25 November
  • Matchday 6: 9 December

Who Are The Favourites To Win The 2021/22 Europa League?

Below are the bookie’s favourites to go all the way in this year’s competition. Check out soccer-tips.org for hot tips on teams to do well in the Europa League.

Leicester City – 12/1

Leicester missed out on a Champions League spot by finishing in 5th place last season behind Man City, Man Utd, Liverpool and Chelsea. Although they would no doubt rather be playing in this competition’s big brother, they will see the Europa League as a much more winnable tournament and the bookies don’t disagree by marking them as favourites to lift the trophy.

Napoli – 14/1

Napoli haven’t made the final of a Europa League competition since the Serie A side last won it back in 1989 when it was the UEFA Cup. However, the two-time Serie A champions have goals in them and are a team to watch in this year’s competition.

Lazio – 16/1

Another Serie A side make it into the bookies top 3 to go all the way in this year’s Europa League. I Biancocelesti finished 6th in the league last season and have only made it through to the final once back in 1998 when they were defeated 3-0 by fellow Italian side, Inter Milan which was the first final of the Europa League that was played over just one leg.

West Ham – 25/1

West Ham have gotten their 2021/22 Premier League campaign off to the perfect start by picking up maximum points in their opening two matches which has left them at the top of the table. David Moyes’ side scored no less than four goals in each of those matches which proves they are a threat in front of goal. If they can transfer that form into their European campaign this term, they may have a chance at having a good run in the competition.

When Is The UEFA Europa League Final?

The 2021/22 UEFA Europa League final is set to take place on 18th May 2022. The match will be played at the Ramón Sánchez-Pizjuán Stadium which is the home ground of La Liga club, Seville.

football betting sites

The world of online betting is sometimes chaotic. The options are too many and this is not always positive. Certainly, the plethora of options and competition between the best betting platforms often works in the player-consumer’s favour but can sometimes be confusing. As you can see, answering the question of which betting platform to choose is not an easy task. So it is important to know why and based on what factors you will choose the best betting platform, in which you will experience online betting. Each of these factors has its own weight and importance and it would be good to see who they are, one by one, in order to draw safer conclusions. If you wish to place bets you can check out NetBet and check for yourself whether it fulfils all the criteria we mention in this article.

Betting platforms with the best odds

If we mention the phrase betting on the internet and ask for one that is inextricably linked to it, then the first word that will come to most people’s minds is odds. The odds or prices if you prefer, offered on the toy markets determine almost everything. From them emerges first of all the rake, the supply of the platform. The lower the rake, the higher the odds. So you need to find the best betting platforms with the highest odds to get paid the highest possible prices. It is so simple.

Live Betting

Live betting is the ultimate betting experience. There is nothing more exciting than betting on a match when it is in progress. It is not accidental, after all, that the turnovers are launched in live betting and that is where the big packages fall. This is because there are great opportunities. Watching a game and having good knowledge of the two opponents in advance, you may be led to the right conclusions-estimates, which of course will give you the corresponding gains. In addition, you can cover a selection live that you have played pre-match.

Offers*

This is a piece that always attracts players. The competition mentioned in the preface, makes the best betting platforms to offer * various promotions, in order to attract new customers or to keep the existing ones on their platform. You can find everything from welcome bonuses to matches with 0% rake *, rewards * for throwing odds *, reward * depending on your playing activity, refund * to 0-0, or if a particular player scores the first goal. There is generally a huge range and a lot of imagination and generosity on the part of the websites. (* Terms & conditions apply)

Services (Cash out – Live Streaming)

Every self-respecting bookmaker who wants to attract players, takes care to offer * the best possible product. So it has to provide high quality services in order to gain an advantage over its competitors. Cash-out * is one of them. It is very important that you can settle your bet before the match is over and lock in winnings or reduce losses. You can do this either pre-match or live. Since the reason for live betting, live streaming * is more than necessary. You cannot bet live if you do not see the game you want to bet on, because then it will be like playing in the blind. In addition, live scores, statistics, the calendar, the live tracker, are all services that determine the best bets from the mediocre ones. (* Terms & conditions apply)

Service

The player who risks his money on the best online betting platforms wants direct communication with the platform he will choose. On the ground he can find the agent and talk, so online there should be a way to be served by a representative of the platform, whether there is a problem, question, or even if he has a simple question. That is why customer service is an important factor in choosing or not choosing a platform. Telephone service, live chat, e-mail, answering them and staff training all play their part.

Special bets

Most players are familiar with the classic markets in betting, such as match result, under / over 2.5, goal / no goal, double chance and draw no bet. In recent years, however, the range is expanding. The players, especially the most systematic ones, are looking for more special situations. From Asian handicaps to combo bets and from special players to alternative limits on under / over and corners, fouls, cards. There is also categorization by time, such as in which minute the first goal will be scored, when the next one will be scored and much more. Diamonds are often hidden in these categories, as it is easier for the trader to make the mistake, so it will be good to find the top betting platforms that offer a wide range of special bets.

Withdrawal Speed

When looking for the best betting site, it is very important that withdrawals are made quickly. First let’s move on to the functional part. It’s nice when you deposit money, the platforms accept it immediately and you can play right away. This is one side. But what can direct play do to you if you cannot withdraw your winnings if they occur. Is not that right; So the time in which you can have your money in your e-wallet, on your card, or in your bank account, is decisive for the choice you will make.

Mobile & Tablet navigation

Times have changed. Technology is evolving geometrically. This has greatly affected online betting. Playing on a mobile phone or tablet is no longer just a reality but has outpaced betting on a desktop computer. The best betting platforms have adapted everything to the small screen of an iOS or smartphone, either by typing the link, or through excellent applications, compatible with almost all mobile devices.

la liga trophy

La Liga is one of the most competitive football leagues in the world but for the majority of its history, it has been dominated by only a handful of clubs. In fact, over the past 17 seasons, only Barcelona, Real Madrid and Atletico Madrid have topped the table come the end of the season with Valencia having a short spell at the top and claiming victory in two of the three seasons prior.

The reason those three teams have dominated La Liga in recent years is due to the vast sums of money they have available to attract the world’s top players. This is especially true with Barcelona and Real Madrid who have substantially greater funds available compared to the likes of Espanyol, Grenada, Celta Vigo and Osasuna. Players such as Cristiano Ronaldo, Lionel Messi, Luis Suarez, Neymar, Ronaldo (Brazilian), Fernando Torres, Raul, Andres Iniesta, Roberto Carlos, Xavi and others have all featured in La Liga over the years and have helped shape it into one of the best football leagues in the world.

The gap in quality between clubs in La Liga is clear to see when we look at the odds available on each side to win the league as seen below.

La Liga 2021/22 Outright Winner Odds

  • Barcelona – 6/4
  • Real Madrid – 7/4
  • Atletico Madrid – 4/1
  • Sevilla – 25/1
  • Real Sociedad – 66/1
  • Villareal – 100/1
  • Real Betis – 175/1
  • Athletico Bilbao – 275/1
  • Celta Vigo – 500/1
  • Valencia – 750/1
  • Grenada – 750/1
  • Osasuna – 100/1
  • Getafe – 1000/1
  • Espanyol – 1000/1
  • Alaves – 1500/1
  • Mallorca – 2000/1
  • Levante – 2000/1
  • Cadiz – 2000/1
  • Elche – 2500/1

As you can see, once you look beyond the top three clubs, the odds dramatically increase from 4/1 for Atletico Madrid to win to 25/1 for Sevilla. However, Sevilla only finished 9 points adrift of last season’s winners Atletico Madrid and so an upset isn’t out of the question. With only a select few teams in with a chance of realistically winning La Liga, title challenges can often come down to head-to-heads between the top teams.

People from around the world will be betting on the outright winner of La Liga for the coming season which kicks off on Friday 13th August. As well as in Spain, sports betting in Canada is very big and the UK is also one of the main markets for betting on football.

So, which team will win La Liga in the 2021/22 season?

Smart money will be going on the top three teams given that no other side has won it since the 2003/04 season.

Atletico will be looking to win consecutive La Liga titles for the first time since 1951 and they’re priced at 4/1 to do so. They’re extremely solid defensively which is their main advantage and have been linked with Argentine forward Lautaro Martínez who bagged 17 goals in 38 matches for Inter Milan last season.

Barcelona are always in the running for the La Liga title and are the bookies’ favourites to win it for the 27th time this coming season. However, there are concerns within the club, namely with the future of star player Lionel Messi being up in the air. The club is also reported to be in financial difficulty which could force them to let go other key players such as Antoine Griezmann.

However, you can never write Barcelona off and should Messi remain at the club, he’ll partner up with new additions to the squad with Sergio Aguero joining the club from Manchester City and Memphis Depay signing from Ligue 1 club Lyon. Both of who are world class players.

Real Madrid have won La Liga more than any other club, claiming the title a record-breaking 24 times. They’ve only topped the table 3 times in the past 13 seasons but the bookies fancy them to be in with a chance of claiming the title back from Atletico having priced them at 7/4.

The departure of Sergio Ramos to PSG will be a huge blow for Real heading into the new season. The verteran defender has been with the club for 16 years and has been a key player throughout his time at the club. Madrid also haven’t brought in any big names during the summer which may concern fans, along with the possible departure of Eden Hazard who has failed to find the form that he displayed at Chelsea since joining the club. They are linked with Kylian Mbappe who would be a superb signing from PSG but with no deal confirmed and the season fast approaching, time may be running out to put pen to paper.

real madrid

During every summer transfer window, rumours are always rife surrounding the next big signing Real Madrid are preparing to make. Following the arrival of David Alaba on a free transfer from Bayern Munich, we may have some hints about the direction the club is taking. Many fans will be hoping for a couple of blockbuster purchases, although a lack of spending power might leave them a little disappointed before the start of the 2021-22 campaign.

Moving on from the Super League debacle

When he spearheaded the concept of a new Super League competition, aimed at drawing together the richest and most powerful clubs in European football, Florentino Perez undoubtedly did so with the best of intentions in his view. Unfortunately, the way he chose to announce this new competition was perhaps rather misguided, via Spanish TV show El Chiringuito de Jugones.

As more news began to filter about participating clubs and a possible separation from UEFA competitions, the whole idea was widely ridiculed and lambasted by fans. Amidst huge pressure from the media and protests by football supporters around Europe, founding members of the proposed Super League quickly began jumping ship. The whole thing soon fell apart, with just Real Madrid, Barcelona and Juventus left standing.

While this whole charade left Perez with egg on his face, the reasoning behind the idea was simple. He wanted clubs to have more control over revenue streams from European competitions, rather than UEFA. Increased revenue streams would also help Real Madrid to maintain their previous levels of spending, able to compete on more equal terms to sign the best players in the world.

Regardless of the magnificent success achieved by Real Madrid, the club simply cannot sustain the previous levels of spending. Without the benefit an oil-rich state or a Russian oligarch supplying limitless funds, Perez needs to rely on revenue generated entirely by the club itself. Despite being one of the most astute and highly regarded businessmen in football, there is always a limit to how far any funds and financing can be stretched.

Searching for better value in a complicated market

The biggest challenge facing Real Madrid will be readjusting their finances. The continually soaring levels of spending in football are unsustainable, which means that Perez must now seek to cut costs wherever he can. The ongoing work to upgrade and improve the Santiago Bernabeu stadium is inevitably a heavy economic burden, albeit one that will pay dividends in the long run.

In the meantime, Perez and Real Madrid need to reduce overall spending across the whole club. That implies careful thought when it comes to player contract renewals, along with a greater emphasis on value when making new signings. This has already been highlighted by the departure of Sergio Ramos and the arrival of David Alaba.

Nobody wanted to see Ramos leave, yet his contract and wage expectations were not good value for a player of his age. Alaba joins on a contract which the club can more comfortably afford, at the prime of his footballing career and with several years left in the tank. While the financial intricacies of running a football club may be difficult to comprehend at times, looking for value should be something we as fans aim for too.

Given the huge popularity of online football betting, there are now thousands of bookmakers to choose from, although it can often be difficult to discover which offer the best value odds and offers. However, visiting a reputable review site is often the best way for comparing where to bet online, encounter football tips and betting guides, plus a whole host of other useful information.

Perez refusing to gamble with the future of Real Madrid

Recent years may have been turbulent in the football world, even to the extent that Real Madrid has found itself plunged into the murky waters of economic difficulty. For such a powerful club to be affected suggests an impending change of direction in football, even though Perez will undoubtedly do his utmost to ensure this club will remain at the forefront of the European game.

Transfer spending at Real Madrid may be reduced compared to previous years, austerity and cautious investment will be the priority for Perez over the coming seasons, yet that does not imply any lack of ambition. Quite the contrary, because this club will always aim for the highest heights, battling to win silverware and striving for honours. Faces may change on the pitch, although the same hunger for success will always be present.

Ancelotti real madrid

The 2020/21 campaign was a story of coming just short for Real Madrid, even in a season when usual title rivals Barcelona were in turmoil. Los Blancos pushed Atlético Madrid to the final day, only to finish second, and bowed out in the semi-finals of the Champions League to the eventual winners, Chelsea. The less said about the Copa del Rey round of 32 exit, the better.

Just as the club did with Zinedine Zidane, Real Madrid have turned to a familiar face to helm the ship, with Carlo Ancelotti rejoining the fold. Accompanying the new managerial appointment is one of the best defenders in world football, David Alaba, who comes to the Bernabéu from Bayern Munich.

So, what can Real Madrid’s army of fans expect from these two huge additions to the team?

Welcoming back the winner of 20 major titles

It’s very clear that Real Madrid aren’t willing to potentially squander the opportunity presented by a flailing Barça with an untested manager. So, they’ve plucked Ancelotti from Everton, likely as a result of failing to land Massimiliano Allegri, per Marca. Even so, Los Blancos are getting a tried and trusted manager.

In fact, Ancelotti’s two seasons at Real Madrid, from 2013 to 2015, still rank as two of his best to date, averaging a La Liga points per match average of 2.36. Of course, it’s all about the silverware at the Bernabéu. The Italian has won 20 major titles across Europe, with a FIFA Club World Cup, UEFA Supercup, Copa del Rey, and Champions League trophy coming during his first spell at Real Madrid.

Only La Liga eluded Ancelotti at a time when Barcelona were at their peak, but there’s certainly a sense of opportunity around this season. Even though Atlético are the reigning champions, they’re out at 15/4 to repeat, and even though Barcelona are the favourites at 7/5, Real Madrid’s 8/5 odds at Space Casino to win La Liga speak to how open it could be. Furthermore, Barça may well be without their talisman next season.

Ancelotti will bring copious amounts of experience, a winning mentality, and even a tweaked style of play compared to what he first arrived in Spain. As he detailed to the Everton FC website, he’ll teach all players to defend well and allow attackers to use their talent and be creative. He also stands by his 4-4-2 defensive system, but is more flexible now and is willing to change the formation to suit tricky opponents.

A reliable centrepiece to join the backline

Real Madrid legend Sergio Ramos departed Real Madrid as a free agent, leaving a massive hole in the team. The 35-year-old looks to become a core component of Paris Saint-Germain’s huge Champions League push, and in his place, David Alaba looks to take on a key defensive and leadership role.

An incredibly versatile defender, Alaba captained his nation during Euro 2020 while playing as a left-back and a centre-back. For his last club, Bayern Munich, he established himself as one of the best left-backs in the world. Then, with the emergence of Alphonso Davies, Alaba cemented himself as the team’s go-to centre-back alongside Jérôme Boateng.

He’s also a very capable defensive midfielder, which is greatly helped by his sheer athleticism and fitness. So, it shouldn’t come as a surprise that Football Espana foresees Ancelotti rotating Alaba between centre-back and the number-six role. The new manager’s defence-first mindset will undoubtedly be helped by the arrival of Wien-native, looking destined to play alongside Raphaël Varane to forge a strong, mobile defensive unit.

La Liga is wide open right now, with a great deal of uncertainty surrounding Atlético and Barça. Los Blancos, on the other hand, have an air of stability and a renewed drive to grab the opportunity by adding two proven pieces to the team.

0
Dani Olmo

“Dani” Olmo Carvajal has truly made his time in the European Championship count. The 23-year-old attacking midfielder, while he didn’t score any goals during the five matches he played, has made 20 attempts and provided three assists, all this while never receiving a card (and running more than 42 kilometres in the process, according to UEFA). His speed and passing accuracy, along with his versatility, make him a recognizable name across the news portals and reputable betting sites all over the internet – and a prime target for some of the biggest clubs in Europe – including Real Madrid.

Dani Olmo

Olmo started playing football at Espanyol’s youth academy at the age of eight, and one year later he moved to Barcelona where he spent the next seven years. In 2014, he joined Dinamo Zagreb – he was 16 at the time – and remained with the team once he turned senior. After 80 league games with the team, it was time for him to move on: he joined Bundesliga side, RB Leipzig, last January on a four-year contract. Since then, he played more than 40 league games with the club, scoring eight goals in the process.

Olmo made an impression in Spain’s EURO 2020 matches, providing vital assists and scoring a penalty against Switzerland.

A three-way tug – plus Barcelona

According to the Spanish football portal Defensa Central, Olmo’s impressive performance at the European Championship has put him on the radar of several major European clubs. The player – valued at €45 million, according to Transfermarkt, is courted by both major Madrid-based teams – Real Madrid and Atlético – along with Barcelona. Recently, it was reported that German Bundesliga side Bayern Munich has also joined the tug of war. DefensaCentral has reported that Bayern coach Julian Nagelsmann has specifically requested the transfer of the young Spanish player.

Barcelona is interested in signing the Spanish player but it is an unlikely candidate. Due to its losses suffered last year, it has to cut almost €200 million from its salary fund to be able to confirm its summer signings already – and if Messi decides to sign with the team, things can get even more complicated for the Catalan club.

Real is another contender that might find itself incapable of signing the player, especially if the club is to pursue PSG’s Kylian Mbappé. The pandemic-ridden 2020 has left the team’s purse pretty thin. Olmo may still come to Madrid but to another team – Atlético has also been linked to his transfer this summer.

Bayern, on the other hand, is a likely contender. Nagelsmann has experience with Olmo already, as the two have worked together already on the Red Bull team. At this moment, the German team is perhaps the most likely to win the four-way tug of war for the talented Spanish player.

According to the newly released ranking, Real Madrid are the most valuable football entity in the world, topping fellow Spanish giants Barcelona and English Premier League side Manchester United.

Real Madrid have won the title for the third year in a row, and they are one of five teams worth more than one billion euros.

Six English teams made the top ten in a survey conducted by Brand Finance called Football 50 2021.

Los Blancos’ consistent participation and success in the European Champions League has been cited as a crucial component in their brand’s worth. They have been among Betway online betting favourites for the last eight years both domestically and continentally.

“They [Real Madrid] have been able to consistently assure Champions League qualification year after year,” read the Brand Finance report.

“This constant income flow and the status of the Champions League have played a central role in the general success of the club.”

The ranking of the most valuable clubs in World Football

Real Madrid (Spain) 1,276m euros

Los Blancos remain a globally recognized brand that has won four Champions Leagues since 2014.

Barcelona (Spain) 1,266m euros

Barcelona’s spiralling debt and massive expenses, which are mostly the result of unsustainable transfer prices and wages that haven’t translated into substantial on-field success in recent seasons, are a significant burden.

Manchester United (England) 1,130m euros

Manchester United’s value has grown at a slower rate than any of the other football teams on this list over the previous five years. Each year, the Glazer family profits, and the European Super League scandal has sparked a new wave of fan demonstrations against the American owners.

Manchester City (England) 1,118m euros

In recent seasons, Manchester City has dominated English football. Sheikh Mansour’s massive investment has completely transformed the club, with success on the field leading to a stronger presence and worldwide brand off it. The losing UCL finalists were heavy favourites with Betway to win this season’s title.

Bayern Munich (Germany) 1,068m euros

Bayern Munich continues to dominate the German domestic scene, and in 2020, they made Champions League history by being the first side to win every game in the campaign on their way to winning the trophy.

Liverpool (England) 973m euros

Liverpool has struggled financially as a result of the coronavirus outbreak, but their total value has increased significantly in the past 5 years. That has coincided with Jurgen Klopp’s tenure as manager and the huge commercial boom that has resulted from his on-field efforts.

PSG (France) 887m euros

Since 2011, Paris Saint-Germain has grown to become one of the established European elite clubs, with their worth appreciating by more than 200 percent in the last half-decade alone. They are regarded as one of the world’s most trendy and marketable clubs.

Chelsea (England) 769m euros

Following fears that Roman Abramovich’s interest in Chelsea was waning, especially when he departed the UK in 2018 due visa renewal problems, he looks to be completely involved in the club once again.

Tottenham (England) 723m euros

Spurs have been constantly qualifying for the European Champions League, and were losing finalists in 2019 when they lost to Liverpool. Having finished outside top four, and afraid of losing talisman Harry Kane, Betway fans can bet on where they see Spurs finishing in the coming season.

Arsenal (England) 675m euros

Arsenal has been owned by the Kroenke family since 2011, and the club’s value has more than doubled since then. However, the rate of growth has slowed in recent years, maybe due to a general lack of success on the field.

Carlo Ancelotti real madrid

At the end of May, Zinedine Zidane left Real Madrid. He not only resigned as manager but also slammed the door at the end, publishing an open letter in which he frankly unveiled the harmed relationship with the club’s president, Florentino Perez, and stated that he quitted Real because he was no longer valued at the club.

“I’m leaving, but I’m not abandoning the ship, and I’m not tired of coaching. In May 2018, I left because, after two and a half years of so many victories and trophies, I felt the team needed a new plan to stay at the highest level. Today things are different. I’m leaving because I feel that the club didn’t give me the support I needed, it didn’t offer me the support to construct a project for the medium or long term,” the former manager wrote.

Bets were being taken on the next manager to take over at Real with bookies such as Cyber.bet and although several candidates were considered for the position of head coach: Mauricio Pochettino, Antonio Conte, Massimiliano Allegri, Raul Gonzalez, and Carlo Ancelotti, the president has opted for Ancelotti. Before Zidane’s flush statement, Florentino Perez hoped to lure Pochettino out of PSG. But the French club refused to let the Argentine leave. Also, Real’s president had his eye on Antonio Conte, who had left his role as Inter Milan manager. Allegri was missed out on earlier: he accepted an invitation to a familiar position at Juventus.

Zidane’s open letter turned everything upside down, most candidates began to back out of the talks. In other words, the ex-coach made it difficult for Florentino Perez to negotiate with potential candidates, moreover, the president must have realized that the situation had changed and that the job at the club after Zidane was definitely not for everyone. The complex financial state of the club and the necessary shake-up of a very unbalanced team also complicated the situation. The president had to take a new look at some personnel decisions.

Under such unfavourable circumstances, it was logical to entrust ‘Los Blancos’ to an experienced manager who had already gained vast experience over the years of his career and knew how to build team relationships. That’s why Perez chose a coach and a man he knew well. Even though Ancelotti is a little tired and behind the frenetic pace of modern football, the Italian knows perfectly well how to put the team in shape shortly. He almost always has a gust of the team and wins players’ favour. The Italian prefers not to break what works well and tries to make the most out of the sportsmen’s strengths. That’s exactly what Florentino Perez needs right now, and Carlo must be aware that he is invited to Real Madrid to pull chestnuts out of the fire and cover the president’s back. But this doesn’t scare the coach for obvious reasons: Ancelotti is 61 years old, his career has been steadily going downhill in recent years, and here’s such a great opportunity to rise to a high level again!

“While I have enjoyed being at Everton, I have been presented with an unexpected opportunity which I believe is the right move for me and my family at this time. I would like to thank Everton FC, my players, and the supporters for giving me the opportunity to manage this fantastic and historical club. I decided to leave as I have a new challenge with a team that was always in my heart, Real Madrid,” said Ancelotti.

Carlo Ancelotti is a rare coach that can yield the results straight off the reel, despite all the problems. He won’t necessarily succeed, but he stands a good chance. Ancelotti had already worked with the Madrid team, he was the club’s head coach from 2013 to 2015. During this time, Real won several trophies, including the famous 10th Champions League in Lisbon in 2014 and the Club World Cup. Ancelotti had also led ‘Los Blancos’ to victories at the King’s Cup and the Spanish Super Cup. But during the 2014/15 season, Real performed poorly and didn’t bring any trophy, and Ancelotti was told to leave without working out the rest of the year under his contract.

“I’ve said many times that I want to stay. But if the club says I won’t stay, of course, I won’t be happy. That can happen in football,” Ancelotti said after the last game of that season.

Anyway, many players and staff have kept a good attitude toward Ancelotti. Thus, the coach, who has already brought Real Madrid 89 wins in 119 games (75% of victories — the best result in the club’s history), returns, and he’s supposed to keep the team from falling or, at least, to simply postpone it for a while.

So far, the story seems beautiful, but still, it remains unclear what is in store for Ancelotti and Real Madrid. The coach will get a team that is in the process of rebuilding, already without Sergio Ramos, Raphael Varane, and Marcelo Vieira. No one knows who, apart from David Alaba, will sign for ‘Los Blancos’. And no one knows whether the Italian will work out his contract, which will be in effect until 2024, but he stays strong and keeps his self-confidence.

“I promise the same as I did last time, which is to play good football. We want to play a more intense, more aggressive, and more organized football. I think football has changed in the past few years. I’m not the same either. I’m a different Carlo Ancelotti. I’ve had new experiences in these years, some positive and some negative ones. But, even the negative experiences help you grow. The history of this club demands spectacular football. I’m going to give all my energy. I have very good memories of the two years I was here and the titles and relationships I had. I think we can repeat something good in this new experience. It’s a big responsibility, but a nice one because you’re coaching the best club in the world. Like in the past, I’ll give my all,” the coach has promised…
