Real Madrid forward Alvaro Morata will complete his move to FA Cup winners Arsenal in next few days, according to reports in Spain.

Lainformacion.com said the two clubs have agreed a 10 million euro fee, while the player himself is happy with the terms on offer at the Emirates Stadium side. The paper claimed Real Madrid have insisted on a buy-back clause that would allow them to resign Morata in the next two years, if that is something both parties would be interested in.

Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger has been on the lookout for a forward having only had Olivier Giroud as his recognised front man last season. There have been reports in Spain that the deal for Morata was agreed some time ago, with only minor details to iron out in recent days.

Italian champions Juventus were interested in Morata, and the player was also linked with a move to Tottenham Hostpur. But it is believed the chance to get regular first team football and Wenger’s faith and experience in developing young players into world class talent persuaded Morata to move to north London.

The 22-year-old was fell behind Jese Rodriguez in the pecking order at the Santiago Bernabeu, and was largely used off the bench this season. He still chipped in with six goals despite his lack of playing time though.

With just two weeks to go until the World Cup there is plenty of focus in the press on international football and the preparations ahead of the tournament.

But, of course, it is less than a week since Real Madrid won La Decima, and the Madrid papers have plenty of news and coverage about the 10 time European Cup winners. And today we start with winger Angel di Maria, who makes the front page on Marca.

The Argentine midfielder, who scored 11 goals this season and picked up the man of the match award in the Champions League final, is unsure about where he’ll be playing football next season. He has been subject of interest from Benfica and Chelsea in previous summers, although Real this year seem unwilling to sell. Speaking to journalists, di Maria said he would like his future sorted out soon and that he will give 100% in whatever jersey it is he’ll wear next season.

The dates for various Supercups have been confirmed, and Real Madrid will have a busy time at the start of the next campaign. They will face Sevilla in the European Supercup on August 12th, while the two-legged Spanish Supercup takes place on August 20th and 27th – with La Liga beginning on August 24th. As Champions League winners, Real will also take part in the World Club Cup, which takes place between December 16th and 20th.

Iker Casillas

Iker Casillas will remain a Real Madrid player next season despite his lack of regular playing time, according to Florentino Perez.

The club president said the goalkeeping situation at the Santiago Bernabeu has been a constant source of stories and speculation for a long time now but that nothing has changed. He added he expects the World Cup winner to remain at the club when the players return for the new campaign.

Real boss Carlo Ancelotti has continued a policy adopted by Jose Mourinho to play Diego Lopez in La Liga games and Casillas in the Copa del Rey and Champions League. That policy was only altered in the final few games of the league season so Casillas would be in top shape for the Champions League final.

Speaking to Onda Cero, Perez said: “We’ve been talking about this all year. Unless anything strange happens, Casillas is going to stay here until the end of his contract.

“In life you can’t guarantee anything, not him and not us, but there is no information to the contrary. I think both [Casillas and Lopez] played very well but it is a problem for Ancelotti to solve. I can’t do anything, although there are some who have said Casillas doesn’t play for me.”

Real Madrid assistant boss Paul Clement has ruled himself out of the running for the manager’s post at Premier League side West Brom.

The 42-year-old Englishman has been linked with the top job at the Hawthorns after he put on record his ambitions to step up and be a manager in the future.

But talking to TalkSPORT, the former PE teacher said he and his family were settled in the Spanish capital and were looking forward to exciting times at the club.

Since his arrival in the summer as part of Carlo Ancelotti’s backroom team, Clement helped plot Real’s success in the Copa del Rey and finally ending the 12-year-wait for the Decima Champions League title.  And he said he hopes for many more happy times at the Santiago Bernabeu.

Clement, whose brother Neil played for West Brom for 10 years, said: “Working for Real Madrid is a fantastic experience and I’m very happy here at the moment. My family are settled and we’d like to stay and enjoy this experience.

“I do have ambitions to make that step up to management at some point in the near future, and if the right club comes along at the right time then I’d like to do it. But at the moment I’m just going to enjoy my time here.”

Looking forward to his future working under Ancelotti, Clement added: “I’m working at a fantastic club every day, we have great players here and we’re competing for big trophies.

“Next year we’ll play in the game against the Europa League winners [the UEFA Super Cup]; we’ll be in the World Club Championship as well as competing for the Liga title, Copa del Rey and Champions League. It’s exciting times for Real Madrid.”

Italian midfielder Marco Verratti will sign for Real Madrid this summer, French sports magazine France Football has claimed.

Los Blancos might be looking for a box-to-box midfielder to reinforce their squad, and Carlo Ancelotti has set the Paris Saint-Germain man on top of his shortlist. France Football has stated Verratti could leave the French capital for around 30 million euros.

Ancelotti knows Verratti well from his previous job as PSG’s boss. The Italian became a crucial piece of Carlo’s 4-3-2-1 formation.

Verratti was already linked with a move to the Spanish capital last summer, but the French club was reluctant to sell.

This time, things could be easier for Florentino Perez if PSG manage to sign Manchester City’s Yaya Toure, who has reportedly requested to leave North England.

With Xabi Alonso turning 33 this year, Los Blancos are in need of a replacement, especially since Asier Illarramendi has proved not to be ready for the job yet.

Rumours have also said that Los Merengues are planning on making a move for Sevilla’s Ivan Rakitic as well, but it seems highly unlikely that both players could arrive to the Santiago Bernabeu.

Real Madrid midfielder Xabi Alonso has been charged with misconduct by UEFA for entering the pitch during last Saturday’s Champions League final against Atletico Madrid.

The Spanish international was suspended for the game after having received two yellow cards in the previous matches. He was sitting in the stands next to Los Blancos bench, with Nacho Fernandez and Jese Rodriguez at his side.

When Gareth Bale scored to goal that put Los Merengues 2-1 ahead, Alonso could not contain his joy and jump from the stands, ran down the touchline and joined the celebration with his team-mates.

After that he went back to his sit, although he returned to the field after the game to pick up his medal and celebrate the victory.

The Colchoneros manager Diego Simeone has also been charged with misconduct for entering the field of play twice during the match. In the final minutes of the extra time, he ran to confront Real Madrid’s Raphael Varane after the defender mocked one of Atletico’s players.

Alonso and Simeone will have their cases heard at a UEFA disciplinary hearing on July 17th.

Reports suggest that Arsenal will pursue their interest in Real Madrid defensive midfielder Sami Khedira this summer.

The North London club are supposedly readying a bid for the German international who is out of contract with Los Blancos next summer.

The Mirror say the bid will be around £15million, which would force the hand of the European champions to either offer Khedira a new contract or sell him.

Khedira has impressed in recent seasons for the Madrid club since joining from VFB Stuttgart in 2010, but unfortunately suffered an anterior cruciate ligament tear in November.

The injury was suspected to keep Khedira out for the season and put his World Cup participation in doubt, however he was able to recover enough to start in Real’s Champions League victory on Saturday.

Arsenal are in desperate need of a strong, powerful holding midfielder and Khedira would undoubtedly be a high class solution to that problem.

But was the German to become available it is likely that other clubs would take an interest, including his former manager in Madrid, Chelsea’s Jose Mourinho, who is still a strong admirer.

Although it is probable Real Madrid will offer Khedira a new contract due to Xabi Alonso’s advancing years, and the relative inexperience of Asier Illaramendi.

Real Madrid will have to pay Tottenham Hotspur an additional eight million euros for Gareth Bale deal after having won the Champions League, Spanish newspaper As has claimed.

Since Los Blancos were crowned European champions for the tenth time in their history, there has been plenty of speculation about how much Spurs will earn from their success.

Reliable digital newspaper ElConfidencial stated a few days ago that the Champions League win would cost Real 32 million euros on bonuses and clauses, five of them heading to Tottenham.

However, As says there was a eight-million clause inserted during the negotiations between Florentino Perez and Daniel Levy last summer.

Ever since Real Madrid won La Decima, there has been plenty of speculation about how much Tottenham earned from the Los Blancos success.

Moreover, there are rumours of a clause also being inserted into the deal to bring Luka Modric to the Santiago Bernabeu. That would increase the amount Real Madrid will have to pay Spurs this summer.

In any case, after Real Madrid, Spurs will surely be the most pleased club with the Champions League final result.

Los Merengues will also pay every player a bonus of 825,000 before taxes. The technical staff and the assistants will also received an extra pay.

Xabi Alonso has backed a campaign to ensure his former club Eibar play in La Liga next season if they get promotion on the pitch.

The Basque club are in an unusual situation in that they need to raise 1.7 million euros in share capital to play in the top league or face being demoted to the third tier, despite the fact they are a financially sound team.

The money needs to be raised by August 6, and so far, the small-town club with a stadium capacity of just 5,000, has raised 30% of the total through a share sale. Shares cost 50 euros each and are available to buy online.

Eibar are currently second in the table, four points behind Las Palmas, with three games remaining.

At an event in Madrid, Real Madrid midfielder Alonso spoke out about the situation. The 32-year-old spent time on loan at Eibar in 2000/01.

He said: “It is contradictory that a club who has an enviable financial health and with zero debts is obliged to do this, when there are others who have much deeper problems. I hope we can put in a big push to keep them where they deserve to be.”

Fellow midfielder Asier Illarramendi also lent his support to the Basque club. He also spent time on loan there while coming through the ranks at Real Sociedad.
