Manchester United are reportedly interested in signing Marco Asensio. Could the Real Madrid midfielder be tempted by a move to Old Trafford?

The Spanish starlet has been in great form for Los Blancos this term, notching seven goals in eighteen appearances in all competitions. It’s easily his best campaign yet, with only three more goals needed to surpass his efforts from last season. With this in mind, it should be no surprise that clubs around Europe are interested in making his signature.

Asensio’s form is being recognised at international level too. He already has seven senior caps for Spain and came on as a substitute in their 5-0 victory over Costa Rica at the weekend, replacing a club teammate after Isco suffered an injury. With the latter now withdrawn from the Spain squad, Asensio is set to feature against Russia this evening.

Man Utd Set To Break Transfer Record For Asensio

If Manchester United are to prize Marco Asensio away from the Bernabeu, then it will come at a cost. However, the Red Devils are one of the few clubs with the financial firepower to force a deal like this through. According to Don Balon, the Premier League club is set to smash it’s own transfer record with a deal that would eclipse their capture of Paul Pogba last summer.

A transfer fee in the region of €200 million has been mooted, which equates to around £177 million. Asensio is not among Real Madrid’s top earners and could have his head turned by a bumper 5-year deal with weekly wages in excess of £450,000. The newspaper also reports that Man Utd manager Jose Mourinho has also made contact with the 21-year-old about a potential switch in the summer transfer window.

Whether or not the former Real Madrid boss gets his way remains to be seen and we can only hope that the latest transfer rumours don’t prove to be a distraction for Asensio.

Neymar dressed with the white t-shirt? Why not? This is what many Real Madrid supporters are thinking right now and also some players. The Brazilian is not happy in Paris and he’s letting this know to his friends, including some Real Madrid players. Perhaps this is the moment for Florentino Pérez to sign a new Galáctico, after the disappointment of the signing of Kylian Mbappé.

Can a Barcelona star play for Real Madrid? Yes, they can. After Luis Figo, perhaps Neymar is the next Galáctico to play for Los Blancos after FC Barcelona, with a step of one year in Paris. Neymar is not happy. Apparently, he doesn’t speak with Unay Emery because he is tired of the video sessions prepared by the Spanish coach. Besides, we have the issues with the penalty kicks with Edinson Cavani.

The city is not helping. Neymar doesn’t like Paris as much as he liked Spain. He is Brazilian and he loves to enjoy the evenings and have fun every now and then. Paris is more a serious city, whereas Barcelona and Madrid enjoy the sunshine and many clubs and restaurants. Neymar prefers the Spanish style of life.

Sergio Ramos welcomed this week the Brazilian player: “I like having the best and Neymar is one of them. Perhaps I see it easier coming from PSG first than from Barcelona to Madrid directly”, the captain opened the doors of the dressing room to Ney.

Now Neymar is focused with his national team. In Brazil he has gathered with Marcelo and Casemiro. The left back is a close friend and he knows Neymar situation with PSG. Marcelo told Real Madrid of the possibility of signing Neymar, according to The Guardian.

Florentino Pérez tried very hard to sign Neymar when he was playing for Santos. However, he discarded the deal because it was too expensive and FC Barcelona finally agreed a strange deal. Some months later, the deal was investigated because of fraud. Now Florentino has the option to sign him at the top of his career. It would be the perfect replacement for Gareth Bale or Karim Benzema. Can we see together Cristiano Ronaldo and Neymar next year at Bernabéu?

Real Madrid star Cristiano Ronaldo has announced the birth of his fourth child. The Los Blancos front man and his girlfriend Georgina Rodriguez have had a baby girl. CR7 made the announcement via a live video on social media website Instagram. He said that he had chosen the first name and Georgina had decided the second name.

“The name of my daughter will be Alana Martina. I just want to share this with you, I think it’s a beautiful name and thank you.”

News of the birth broke late on Sunday evening. It is reported to have been a routine delivery and both mother and baby are doing well. Alana Martina is Ronaldo’s fourth child, joining twins Eva Maria and Mateo, along with his first born, Cristiano Jr.

Georgina’s due date was November 21st but the birth was brought forward because of the convenience of the international break. Ronaldo had no football commitments with Real Madrid and was allowed a leave of absence by the Portugal national team. This is a stark contrast to when he stayed with Portugal for the Confederations Cup when his twins were born.

Stress Free Ronaldo Ready To Fire?

There is a theory that the impending birth may have been affecting Cristiano Ronaldo’s on-pitch performances. Stats of 8 goals in 13 games in all competitions would not be too shabby for most players but this is Ronaldo. He has only scored once in La Liga and has so far fallen short of his own benchmark this season.

Now that his baby has arrived, perhaps we’ll see him back to his best. Saturday’s Madrid derby is a must win encounter. Barcelona already hold an 8 point advantage as at the top of the table and Atletico are level with Real on points. It’s unlikely that second-placed Valencia will last the pace but Real cannot afford to lose any further ground. It would be fitting then, if Ronaldo scored the match-winning goal to celebrate the birth of Alana Martina.

Real Madrid attacking midfielder Isco has emerged as a doubt for the derby clash with Atletico Madrid after withdrawing from the Spain squad with an injury. The 25-year-old sustained a thigh injury as La Furia Roja thrashed Costa Rica 5-0. It followed a robust challenge by Kendall Watson, which saw the former Valencia and Malaga man go down on 69 minutes and gesture to be replaced. Isco was promptly substituted and replaced by his club teammate Marco Asensio.

The extent of the injury is not yet known but it is serious enough to see him pull out of the upcoming friendly encounter with World Cup hosts Russia. Isco is now in the care of Real Madrid’s medical staff who face a race against time to get him fit for the Madrid Derby. If he cannot prove his fitness in time, he will join a growing injury list that includes attacker Gareth Bale, midfielder Mateo Kovacic, defender Raphael Varane, and goalkeeper Keylor Navas.

Isco Injury A Huge Blow For Real Madrid

In what has been a difficult season so far for Los Blancos, Isco has performed admirably. He has found the net four times in eleven La Liga appearances. If he continues to score at this rate, he will surpass his best tally of ten league goals from the 2016-17 campaign. The man from Benalmádena has established himself as a first team regular under Zinedine Zidane and will be sorely missed, if injury rules him out on Saturday.

There is never any love lost in the Madrid Derby but Saturday’s trip across the capital to Wanda Metropolitano has added importance. Both teams are tied on 23 points after eleven matches, a full 8 points adrift of runaway La Liga leaders Barcelona. Therefore, a draw does not particularly suit either side and the team that loses could face an uphill struggle to get back into the title race.

Real Madrid signed in 2007 Royston Drenthe, alongside with Wesley Snejder. Drenthe was a young -only 20 years old- and promising Dutch left back. He was playing at Feyenoord and shone with the U-21 Netherlands team, winning the European Championship in 2007.

However, at Real Madrid he didn’t have this success. The footballer played 46 games and he was given on loan twice, to Hércules and Everton. His career started to go down after playing at Bernabéu and he’s now retired and only thinking in the music, as he is a famous rapper.

Now Drenthe explained his problems at Real Madrid or his hobbies during the ‘dangerous’ nights out in the Spanish capital: “I went out, yes. Not every night, like people said. But a lot of nights. We went to Buddha (famous club in Madrid) and there we had fun. A lot of times I had to go out secretly because it wasn’t the right time. But it’s not easy to say ‘no’ every night, because as Real Madrid player you’re offered many things. Madrid is a great city, there are many restaurants, a lot of party, beautiful girls… And you are young, Real Madrid players… There are many temptations in front of you if you are not focus”, Drenthe remembered in an interview with the Spanish newspaper MARCA.

The left back said that he didn’t go out alone, but with some Real Madrid players. However, he doesn’t want to name anybody. Besides, he tells a funny story: “I went with a friend to the casino and suddenly two beautiful girls approached. The four of us went to a hotel and we had fun. At the end the problem arrived. They asked us 1,000€ per person. I didn’t know we had to pay! I thought it was only fun, not paying. I didn’t bring cash, only cards! Imagine the situation”, Drenthe explains.

Drenthe finishes his story: “My friend didn’t want to pay because it was a lot of money. At the end we gave all the chips we had won at the casino. There are some stories like that”.

Finally, Drenthe refuses the idea of not having success at Real Madrid because of his parties: “I don’t agree with that. I never arrived late to a training and I worked hard. If I left Madrid it wasn’t because of that. I think I had good moment, but football is complicated and even more Real Madrid. But for the club I only have good words. They were always kind with me”.

Football betting has always been popular among the masses no matter what time of the year it may be. Regardless of whether you’re a seasoned punter or someone just starting out with football betting, it’s important that you constantly stay on top of the game, to improve your winning chances.

Apart from all such background work, you can claim Ladbrokes free bet offer as well and hone your football betting skills before investing any of your own real money.

Let’s acquaint you with some of the golden rules of football betting that when followed sincerely will always keep you in profit.

Bet on a market that you enjoy

It’s very important that you indulge in a football betting market not just for the profit purposes but also because it’s a great source of enjoyment for you. For instance, over/under bets are hugely popular among football punters as they are pretty exciting in nature. These bets are about predicting whether the total number of goals scored in a football match would be over or under a certain figure.

A major reason why so many people love this market is because it’s very forgiving. You don’t need to be extremely good at your math to win in it. Let’s say, you place a bet that the total number of goals scored in a Real Madrid vs Chelsea would be over 1.5. In this case, any result that features more than one goal would lead to a win. It could be a 1–1, 2–2, 2–1 or even a 4–4 score line! The only scores that would make you lose the bet are 0–0 or 1–0. These bets are a lot about studying the two oppositions and then making a sound guess about the result.

Understand the suggestions behind the odds

You could easily convert odds into implied probability, and understand the percentage of likelihood of a particular event. This can be calculated using the following formula:

Implied probability = denominator / (numerator + denominator)

Let’s say Cristiano Ronaldo (here’s all the latest on the star) is being offered at odds of 5/2 to score the first goal of the match. You could figure out the implied probability suggested by these odds as follows:

Implied probability = 2 / (5 + 2) = 2/7 = 0.286

Now, multiply the result by 100 to get the exact percentage, which in this case would be 28.6%. Hence, the concerned bookmaker believes that the chances of Cristiano Ronaldo scoring the first goal are 28.6%.

Never ruin your own good time

By far the most important rule in football betting is that you must never blindly back your own team, especially when it comes to first goal scorer market. You’d never be able to enjoy the game and end up ruining your own good time.

Even if you’re favourite team goes 1–0 up in the game, you won’t see yourself celebrating as it wasn’t your guy who scored the first goal!

Real Madrid decided not to sign a new striker in the summer transfer window. Álvaro Morata and Mariano Díaz left, but the club thought that the role was covered with Borja Mayoral or Lucas Vázquez. Some games later, there was a big controversy because the team is struggling to score and all the people are pointing out the strikers, obviously.

Zinedine Zidane said this summer that he was confident in Borja Mayoral’s skills. The homegrown player should be able to cover the role when Cristiano Ronaldo or Benzema are not available. However, after a few months of competition, Mayoral hasn’t had many chances and his always on the bench or out of the list.

Mayoral has only participated in 6 games in La Liga, playing 108 minutes. He only started once, against Real Sociedad, and he did a great job, scoring the first goal of the game. He also started against Fuenlabrada in Copa del Rey. In the Champions League, he’s had 25 minutes divided in two games. These are very poor numbers.

His situation is more surprising if we take in consideration the problems with the goal. Cristiano Ronaldo or Benzema have only scored once in La Liga and Gareth Bale is having many problems with the injuries. However, Mayoral is not a solution for Zinedine Zidane, who prefers to introduce Asensio or Lucas Vázquez as wingers rather than giving an opportunity to the Spaniard.

Mayoral is always called by the U-21 Spanish team. However, if we have a look at his numbers, he’s never been a great scorer. His best season was in 2015/16, when he scored 15 goals with Castilla in the Spanish third division. Last season he only scored two goals in Bundesliga, where he played on loan for Wolfsburg.

Morata said recently that the competition at Real Madrid is very high and enjoying minutes is very complicated. Borja Mayoral can tell, because despite having good performances, the Spaniard is not having minutes. Is this the story of a failure?

Zinedine Zidane received recently The Best award as a top manager in 2017 for winning the Champions League and La Liga. Real Madrid can be lucky for having such a good coach right now. However, there were some others that weren’t successful at all. Now we want to look back and introduce some blows in the history of the club.

Arsenio Iglesias

Jorge Valdano was the coach of Real Madrid and he had success in the past. Actually, Valdano has been linked with the club several times. However, the results weren’t good in 1995 and the club axed him. Arsenio Iglesias took over. He was well known for training Deportivo de la Coruña, -the ‘Súper Dépor- a team that almost win La Liga title but Djukic missed a penalty in the last game of the season. The Galician coach was a total failure and he had to leave the club right after his appointment.

jose-antonio-camacho-GI

José Antonio Camacho

He is one of the most experienced Spanish coaches and besides he is a great Real Madrid fan. His career as a player was stunning with Los Blancos but as a coach was terrible. He was first appointed manager in 1998, but he resigned before starting the season. In 2004 he arrived again to Santiago Bernabéu and left the club three games after, unable to handle the dressing room with the Galácticos.

carlosqueiroz-GI

Carlos Queiroz

He had the difficult task of replacing Vicente del Bosque at Real Madrid in 2003/04 after winning two Champions League trophies and La Liga title. He had the best team ever available with all the Galácticos. The season went smoothly, but he lost the Copa del Rey final against Zaragoza. It was the beginning of the end. Monaco kicked them off from Europe and they lost La Liga title. He left the club at the end of a terrible season, losing the last 5 games, something new in Real Madrid history.

luxemburgo-GI

Vanderlei Luxemburgo

The Galácticos formed a very difficult group. Vanderlei Luxemburgo arrived in December 2004 to Madrid. The team was fifth in La Liga, 13 points behind FC Barcelona. His first season was decent, finishing in the second position in La Liga. However, in the next one the team didn’t work and he was fired in December 2005. We will never forget his formation with a ‘Magic Square’ in the midfield or the use of walkie-talkies to communicate with his assistants.

Juan Ramón López Caro

When Luxemburgo was fired, Real Madrid trusted López Caro, who was training Castilla with success. However, he didn’t have the same luck in the first team and he was unable to win a single trophy. At the end of the season, the club decided to sack him and Fabio Capello took over.

Rafa Benítez

In 2015, Florentino Pérez unveiled Rafa Benítez as new coach for the next two seasons. He had a great career, working for Valencia, Liverpool, Inter, Chelsea or Napoli with success. However Real Madrid is different. The players didn’t understand his way of seeing football and they got fed up of him soon. In January, Florentino sacked him after drawing against Valencia. Before, he lost 0-4 El Clásico against FC Barcelona in one of the worst performances ever.

The international break is giving some rest to some Real Madrid key players. Cristiano Ronaldo, Benzema or Gareth Bale -although he just got injured- are training to be fit for the derby against Atlético Madrid. This will be the first tough game for Los Blancos in their challenge to shorten the eight points gap with FC Barcelona.

Los Blancos will play El Clásico against their rivals on the 23rd of December. The goal is arriving to that date with a lower gap and, in the meantime, get the qualification for the Copa del Rey and win the FIFA Club World Cup at Abu Dhabi. Now La Liga have made public the schedule of La Liga until the Christmas break. This is what Los Blancos have to face until then.

Atlético Madrid v Real Madrid

The first derby at Wanda Metropolitano. Real Madrid visit the brand new stadium of their neighbours for the very first time on Saturday 18th of November at 19:45, UK Time.

Real Madrid v Málaga

After the Champions League, Los Blancos play at home against the bottom team of La Liga. Málaga is struggling this season and should be an easy rival. It will be the 25th of November at 15:15, UK Time.

Athletic Club v Real Madrid

Another tough game for Los Blancos. Last year they were able to win at San Mamés but it’s always a difficult venue. The game is on Saturday, the 2nd of December, at 19:45.

Real Madrid v Sevilla

Another challenging game against one of the best teams of the championship. Sevilla visit Bernabéu stadium on Saturday 9th of December at 15:15, UK Time.

Real Madrid v Barcelona

Real Madrid trip to Leganés to play another derby is postponed because Los Blancos have to play the FIFA Club World Cup. Their next game will be El Clásico on Saturday 23rd of December at 12:00.

Will Real Madrid be able to shorten the gap before the end of the year?

We have to wait many weeks to see the transfer window open but the rumours are still arriving. Especially if we see Real Madrid struggling in these first months of competition. The British newspaper Express published the interest of Los Blancos in getting Juan Mata in the winter transfer window, especially now that the player is not enjoying many minutes with Manchester United.

Juan Mata was raised at Real Madrid and he has been linked with the club several times. However, he left the club when he was 18 and he triumphed with Valencia in La Liga. Then, he decided to move to the Premier League. He was successful at Chelsea until Mourinho’s arrival and he moved to Old Trafford. Some years later, the Portuguese arrived to Manchester, so Mata’s days at United seemed over, but Mourinho trusted him and put him in the pitch.

Now this situation has changed. Although Mata has played 8 games and 498 minutes in the Premier League, he has never played a full game. Besides, he made a mistake in the defeat against Huddersfield Town. As a result of this, Mata didn’t play against Tottenham Hotspur and Chelsea, two key games for the Red Devils.

Mata’s contract with Manchester United expires in June 2018, so he should be already looking for a new club. The possibility of signing for Real Madrid appears there. Los Blancos have a lot of talented players in the midfield, like Marco Asensio or Isco, both with a similar profile, but Mata could be an interesting signing in this winter transfer window.

Florentino Pérez is trying to add Spanish players to the squad and Mata fits in the club’s culture. He was raised in the club and has a very good relationship with most of the players as he knows them for the Spanish national team. It could be another option in the attacking line that might be considered for the club.
