FIFA 14 has surprised all video games fans with the incredible resemblance between the virtual and the real players. The new edition of the famous game, released one month ago, has used facial motion capture to get every detail of the players’ faces.

Regarding Real Madrid players, the resemblance is almost perfect in the cases of Pepe, Sergio Ramos, Sami Khedira, Cristiano Ronaldo, Karim Benzema and Xabi Alonso.

A team of EA Sports professionals traveled to Madrid to make the facial motion capture, and the results have been described as many as the best in the history of football video games (click here to watch the facial motion capture process).

However, some of the most passionate Real Madrid fans have been very critical with the developers for using a stock face for Diego Lopez, Daniel Carvajal, Asier Illarramendi, Isco, Jese Rodriguez and Alvaro Morata, as you can see in the video above.

Real Madrid travel to Turin tonight to take on Juventus in the fourth group game of the Champions League.

The two teams couldn’t find themselves in more contrasting circumstances as they meet for the second time this season. A fortnight ago at the Santiago Bernabeu, Los Blancos secured a 2-1 win, ensuring they have maximum points in the group so far. Juve, on the other hand hand just two points from their opening three games, and really need to win tonight to avoid the prospect of dropping down to Europa League football in the New Year.

In the three games following their defeat in the Spanish capital, Juve have not conceded a goal. Although Madrid have scored 10 goals in their last two La Liga games, they have been shipping them freely at the other end. Bookmakers have the Italian champions as slight favourites to secure the win tonight at a price of around 6/4, with home support being a crucial factor. Los Blancos may be worth a flutter to take the three points and qualification to the last 16, with odds of 7/4. A draw in Turin is available at around 5/2.

With seven goals in three Champions League games so far this season, and 20 in 15 in total, it will be no surprise that Cristiano Ronaldo is the favourite to score the opening goal at 4/1. The in-form Karim Benzema is at 5/1. For Juventus, Carlos Tevez can be found at 11/2 to net the opening goal of the night, while Fernando Llorente, who scored in Madrid is at 7/1.

Real Madrid midfielder Luka Modric has expressed that Los Merengues are not frightened by Juventus’ threat.

We are not afraid of Juventus. They are a great team that we respect, but we are not afraid of them,” Modric told Madrid’s official website.

Two weeks ago, Real overcame La Vecchia Signora in Spain. They travel to Italy this evening to confront them once more in the return fixture in the Champions League. Real is currently the group leader with nine points.

Modric added, “They have a great squad with great players, and when you play big matches like this you want the best players from the other team to play against you. How do I for these games? Personally I want to play my best and help my team to win all of the matches and trophies possible.”

He said he is prepared for the Champions League matches in the usual way, the same as for a league match and there is not much difference between getting ready for one or the other.

Juventus midfielder Paul Pogba says he is ready for battle ahead of the Bianconeri’s key game against Real Madrid on tonight.

The Frenchman was in a confident mood, after scoring the only goal of the game against Parma and now is fully focused on the game against Real, which the Turin side must win to keep their hopes of qualifying for the Champions League knockout stages.

Pogba spoke to Sky Sport Italia about the Parma win and commented on the game, saying “It was a very difficult and important game, so it is fundamental that we got the three points here. Parma were one of the form teams of the last few weeks and we won a tough fixture.”

“I honestly thought Fabio Quagliarella’s shot was going in, but I followed it up anyway and managed to score on the rebound off the crossbar.” added the French international, speaking about his third league goal of the season.

Juventus will look to redeem themselves after their 2-1 loss to Los Blancos last time out at the Santiago Bernabeu, and the Frenchman said “Now we must be ready for Real Madrid, as we need to win this time in the Champions League.”

Juventus striker Carlos Tevez has made it perfectly clear he doesn’t envy Cristiano Ronaldo in the build up to today’s Champions League match-up with Real Madrid.

Ronaldo has scored 20 goals in 15 appearances so far this season but the Argentine sees no reason to be jealous of his former Manchester United team mate.

“Ronaldo is a great player, but I’ve got nothing to be envious of,” the 29-year-old attacker stated at a press conference.

The former Manchester City star then moved onto the importance of the midweek Champions League fixture and how the Old Lady cannot afford to slip up again.

“The three fixtures that remain are all finals for us. I hope Juventus-Real Madrid proves to be a good game all round,” he continued.

“We will be playing in our own stadium and the supporters will be behind us for 90 minutes.”

Juventus are third in Group B with two points from three games, with Los Blancos leading the section with nine points.

Real Madrid press report 5-11-13

Spanish sports daily As highlights today in its front page the fact that Cristiano Ronaldo will play his 100th Champions League match tonight against Juventus Turin.

Alfredo Relano’s newspaper also points out that Carlo Ancelotti “still has doubts” and he will display the “16th different line-up so far this season.”

As also emphasizes Juventus manager Antonio Conte’s words before the game. The Italian stated “Madrid have a devastating attack,” in a reference to Ronaldo, Gareth Bale and Karim Benzema.

The other main Madrid sports paper, Marca, also puts its focus on Los Blancos dangerous forward line, claiming “Europe’s most feared attack will seal the qualification for the next round.”

Marca report Los Merengues will play with their orange kit for the first time this season. “Vitamin C,” they title.

The Madrid daily also points out that Ancelotti has affirmed he don’t want the forwards to defend and has asked the defenders for more commitment.

Real Madrid boss Carlo Ancelotti has confirmed Raphael Varane will play against Juventus in Turin tonight as he seeks to shore up his leaky defence.

Despite having a free scoring attacking unit – Los Blancos average three goals a game so far this season – they have come unstuck at the back. In La Liga alone, Real have conceded 16 goals, twice as many as Barcelona and Atletico de Madrid.

Sevilla and Rayo Vallecano both gave Los Blancos a scare in their last two league matches, coming from 3-0 to 3-2, before Ancelotti’s men secured victory in both games. And the 54-year-old boss wants his team to improve, starting with the game against the Italian champions.

Speaking at a press conference ahead of the match, Ancelotti told reporters he would recall Varane and decide between Pepe and Sergio Ramos to partner him.

“We’ve been conceding too many goals and this is our problem. Everybody in the world knows how important the defensive work is. But we’ve scored 42 goals in 15 games, with an average of three goals a game,” he stated.

While urging his team to be defensively strong, he also called on them to secure qualification for the knock-out phase as soon as possible so they can focus their attentions back on La Liga.

He said: “We need to rotate our team to have the freshest players on the field, with the most physical strength, and I don’t think rotating is a problem although sometimes we lose our balance as a result and we need to improve this. It’s going to be an interesting game. Juventus have more difficulties than us in the group – this is a chance for us to seal qualification and the sooner you get that, the better.”

Juventus manager Antonio Conte has said his side will have to be at their defensive best if they are to shut out Real Madrid’s attack tomorrow night.

The Italian champions go into the Group B match against a team that has scored 12 times in their opening three Champions League matches this season. And Los Blancos have also scored 10 goals in their last two La Liga games alone – all of which were scored by either Cristiano Ronaldo, Gareth Bale or Karim Benzema.

Speaking at the press conference ahead of the game, Conte warned his side they would have to be switched on at the back from the first whistle until the final whistle, otherwise Carlo Ancelotti’s side could run riot.

“They are a side who have an extraordinary attack. I describe them as devastating, especially if they are allowed to play the game they prefer,” he stated.

Conte went on to add: “Cristiano Ronaldo, Bale, Benzema, Di Maria, to say but a few, are extraordinary, fantastic when they have the field in front of them and room to exploit. So we have got to be careful and do what we did in Madrid, trying to avoid the mistakes we made there, and try to hurt them, but we know we are up against an extraordinarily strong attack.”

Midfielder Claudio Marchisio believes his Juventus team have enough quality to defeat Real Madrid at the Juventus Stadium on Tuesday to boost their chances of qualifying for the Champions League last 16.

Juventus fought hard at the Santiago Bernabéu two weeks ago before eventually succumbing to a 2-1 loss, but the attacking midfielder believes the support of the home fans can spur the team on to victory.

Speaking to the club’s website the Italian said: “We haven’t had a great deal of time in which to prepare for the game, but encounters like these provide plenty of motivation by themselves.

“In Turin, we’ll be able to count on the support of our fans, who will provide a red-hot atmosphere at the stadium.

“We managed to defend well in Spain, enjoy possession and cause them problems. Madrid have plenty of strong players up front who sometimes help out less in defensive areas, thus putting their backline under pressure.”

Juventus currently sit third in Group B, still two points behind Galatasaray, who face Copenhagen in their fourth group game, meaning a result is a must from this huge tie if they want to avoid the ignominy of Europa League football after Christmas.
