The latest Real Madrid transfer news include Florentino Perez travelling to London to negotiate with Tottenham directors the transfer of Gareth Bale.

According to Spanish digital newspaper El Confidencial, Spurs owner Daniel Levy and Perez will meet soon to discuss the Welshman signing for Los Blancos.

Journalist Jose Manuel Garcia reports that Angel di Maria and Gonzalo Higuain could be included in the deal to cheapen Bale’s price. According to Garcia, Levy and Perez have already met in the last few weeks and the transfer could still happen this summer.

Speaking of Higuain, the Daily Star claims that Arsenal are convinced they can sign two of their three targets for the striker role: Luis Suarez, Wayne Rooney and Higuain himself. Real have denied to have received any offer for the Argentinian.

Illarramendi’s transfer slowing down

Spanish newspaper ABC publishes today that Asier Illarramendi’s arrival at Real Madrid has become complicated, as Real Sociedad wants Los Blancos not only to pay the 30-million euro buy-out clause, but also the taxes. That would increase the midfielder price to 36.3 million euros.

Real Sociedad owe Kutxa bank and the Government of Guipuzcoa 12 million euros after they saved the club from bankruptcy in 2009. According to ABC, the Basques have to pay their debtors 20% of every transfer, and that is why the regional Government have pressured Real to get those extra millions from Los Merengues.

In case Illarramendi finally doesn’t arrive in Madrid, Marca states today that the club is already working in two other options: Sevilla’s Geoffrey Kondogbia and another young centre-half whose name remains unknown.

Nacho arrived to Real Madrid twelve years ago. After playing in all the youth categories, he joined the first team with regular appearances last year.

The 23-year old won the Supercopa with Los Blancos and became European Champion with Spain under-21 national team last June.

Nacho, who can play both at both centre-back or left-back, will be now officially part of Carlo Ancelotti’s squad and will not be switching from Castilla to the first team.

Real is filling their squad with homegrown players this summer, with Daniel Carvajal coming back from Bayer Leverkusen and Jese Rodriguez and Alvaro Morata expected to stay at the first team squad.

Premier League rich boys Manchester City are believed to be preparing a huge offer to tempt Real Madrid into selling Cristiano Ronaldo, it has been reported.

The Daily Star said Manuel Pellegrini’s new side are ready to pay Los Blancos whatever it takes to bring the Portuguese star to the Etihad Stadium.

The Citizens are reportedly set to off Ronaldo, who moved to Madrid from Manchester United in 2009, around 350,000 euros per week in wages.

Ronaldo spent six seasons at Old Trafford where he won three Premiership titles and the Champions League. His former side have been linked with a move to re-sign him all summer long and officials at the Premier League champions are sadi to be confident of luring him back to Manchester.

But the Daily Star said City’s interest was serious and would provide a real challenge should the clubs enter a bidding war for Ronaldo.

Florentino Perez, Real Madrid president

Real Madrid president Florentino Perez has said the club will only sign players who have an “insatiable hunger” for success this summer.

Los Blancos have confirmed the signings of young Spanish stars Isco and Daniel Carvajal, along with Brazilian Casemiro, so far this transfer window.

But they have been linked with an endless list of stars too, with Gareth Bale topping the wish list. Other players linked with big money moves to the Santiago Bernabeu include Luis Suarez, Asier Illarramendi and Arturo Vidal.

Speaking to reporters, Perez said: “As our coach says, Real Madrid has a duty to play spectacular football and we want new players who are up to the club’s demands and have an insatiable hunger.”

The club also confirmed that 23-year-old defender Nacho has signed a new four-year deal at the Santiago Bernabeu.

Fresh from doing business with Real Madrid to sign Jose Callejon, Seria A side Napoli are thought to be preparing an offer for Los Blancos defender Raul Albiol, reports have said.

The Corriere dello Sport claimed new manager Rafa Benitez, once a coach at Real Madrid Castilla, wants to boost his defence by securing the signature of the Spanish international.

Albiol, who represented his country at the Confederations Cup this summer, has been subject of much speculation in recent weeks and has been linked with a move to La Liga sides Valencia and Atletico de Madrid.

According to the Italian sports paper, Napoli may struggle to finance the deal given the fact that Albiol signed a fresh five-year contract at the Santiago Bernabeu last August, and his personal terms may be beyond what they can afford.

Albiol joined Real Madrid from Valencia in 2009 and has made 117 in all competitions, scoring two goals.

The fixture list for the 2013-14 La Liga campaign was published on Tuesday and the first thing Real Madrid and Barcelona always do is to check out on what date the first Clasico takes place.

This year, the match will be at Camp Nou on the 10th match day of La Liga, which will take place from Friday 25th to Monday 28th October. Historically, Merengues and Azulgranas have only faced each other twice during those dates, and curiously both ended with a goal fest for the home team.

The first instance dates back to October 25th 1953, when Real Madrid smashed Barcelona at Santiago Bernabue with a huge 5-0 win, thanks to a brace from Di Stefano and Roque Olsen, and a Molowny strike. That triumph was an example of the great season completed by Los Blancos, as they won their third league title while Barca had to settle for the runner-up place.

The Blaugrana got their revenge in 1958, specifically on October 26th. That day, the Catalonians embarrassed their arch rival with a 4-0 goal rush, thanks to Evaristo’s hat trick and Tejada’s goal. At that time, Barca had a very strong squad with legendary players like Kubala or Luis Suarez.

In fact, that year, Barcelona won both La Liga and the Copa. However, Real Madrid did not end the season with their hands empty, as they kept their hegemony in Europe by winning their fourth consecutive European Cup.

Napoli have officially confirmed on their website the transfer of Spanish forward Jose Callejon from Real Madrid pending the medical tests he needs to pass.

The two clubs have reached an agreement that would bring the Andalusian to Rafa Benitez’s team for 10 million euros.

Callejon has travelled to Napoli and will undergo medical tests today prior to signing his new contract with the Azzurri. He has already visited Napoli’s training ground, according to the Italian’s club statement.

Sources have told the 26-year old will sign a five-season deal worth 2.5 million euros a year. After two years at Real Madrid, he will now start a new stage at Italian football.

Callejon arrived at the Santiago Bernabeu in 2011 from Espanyol. Previously, he had worked his way up at Real Madrid’s youth teams together with his twin brother Juanmi, who now plays at Levadiakos in the Greek league.

Madrid sports newspaper As brings to its front page an extract from Carlo Ancelotti’s autobiography in which the manager states: “Let’s make it clear: I decide the lineups”.

As takes that as a warn to Madrid media and fans. They also highlight another sentence from Ancelotti: “If the president ask for an explanation about why not lining up a player, you have to give it to him, because he is the boss”.

In a similar front page, the other main Madrid sports daily, Marca, titles: “Watch out with Ancelotti”. “He won’t tolerate the lack of attitude showed last year”, they claim. “No player is untouchable, all are the same”, they add.

“Ancelotti wants his players to train as they play, at 100%. No match is less important, no rival is inferior”, they state.

Marca also claims Jose Callejon has travelled to Napoli to sign for the Italian team after the two clubs have reached an agreement.

Juventus midfielder Arturo Vidal has sparked rumours that he could be keen on a move to Real Madrid by saying the Spanish giants ‘seduce’ any player in the world.

The Chile international, who was joint-top scorer for the Old Lady as they lifted the Seria A title last season, told Gazzetta dello Sport that he was flattered by speculation linking him with Los Blancos.

Vidal’s contract with Juventus ends in 2016, but new Madrid boss Carlo Ancelotti is thought to be considering a move for the payer this summer. He signed for Juve from Bayern Leverkussen in 2011 for 12.5 million euros and is thought to be worth double that amount now.

Vidal said: “I am honoured that a big club [like Real Madrid] is interested. They would seduce every player [into joining them].

“I have not yet renewed my contract. My deal is still running, I’ll just see what will happen now.”
