Real Madrid and Spain Under-21 forward Alvaro Morata has said he may have to quit the club if the Spanish giants sign another striker this summer.

The young forward has seen his chances at the Santiago Bernabeu limited due to the plethora of talent already on the books at the club, and he could find himself way down the pecking order still if Los Blancos secure another attacker in the transfer window.

Gareth Bale, Robert Lewandowsky, Edison Cavani and Luis Suarez are just some of the players having been linked with Real Madrid in recent weeks.

Speaking to Cadena Ser, Morata said: “It depends on the circumstances whether I will stay at Madrid’s first team. If another striker is brought in, I will have to think about what’s best for me and consider leaving the club.”

He added that if he were to leave Real Madrid, he would prefer to move abroad rather than stay in Spain.

Morata, who has a contract for another two years, has been the star of the European Under-21 Championships, scoring three goals in as many games for Spain so far.

Jesus Fernandez has not been approached by Napoli over a possible transfer from Real Madrid, the Italian club has said.

Sources in the Italian press had suggested new manager Rafa Benitez was keen to take the 25-year-old to Naples as a replacement for current goalkeeper, former Italy international Morgan de Sanctis.

But the club released a statement on Wednesday saying they have not approached Los Blancos or Fernandez himself over a potential move to the Stadio San Paolo.

The statement read: “SSC Napoli categorically denies any contact with either the agents or managers of Jesus Fernandez, Real Madrid’s goalkeeper.

“As a consequence, all the rumours reported by the media about our club’s interest in the player must be considered as totally unfounded.”

Fernandez is well down the pecking order at the Santiago Bernabeu and has been linked with a move to Premier League side Aston Villa. He made just one senior appearance for Real Madrid in the 2012-13 campaign.

Juventus midfielder Arturo Vidal could be on his way to Real Madrid if Carlo Ancelotti takes over as boss, according to talkSport.

The 26-year-old is believed to be a target of Manchester United and Manchester City but Ancelotti sees the Chilean as the ideal man to anchor his midfield.

Seria A champions Juventus would like to keep hold of their man as he has established himself as one of the best box-to-box midfielders in the world since his move to Turin two years ago.

But an offer in the region of 35 million euros could tempt the club into parting ways with their star man, talkSport said.

With Juventus heavily linked with a move for Los Blancos striker Gonzalo Huguain, the two clubs could come to an agreement on a player plus cash deal, some reports have said.

Real Madrid have entered the race to sign Malaga playmaker Isco, the Daily Mirror has said.

According to the paper, the player his father – who acts as his representative – have already held talks with Real Madrid officials about a possible move to the Santiago Bernabeu.

The 21-year-old, who helped guide his unfancied Malaga side all the way to the quarter-finals of the Champions League, would command a fee of around 20 million euros.

The midfielder, who is currently away with his national side playing in the Under-21s European Championship, is also thought to be a target of big-spending Premier League side Manchester City.

Reports have suggested Isco is keen to move to Eastlands to be reunited with boss Manuel Pellegrini, who is expected to be unveiled as the new City manager at the weekend.

German midfielder Julian Draxler has admitted it would be a ‘dream’ to complete a move to either Real Madrid or Barcelona.

The 19-year-old Schalke star has a long-term deal with the Gelsenkirchen outfit but has been subject to much speculation in recent weeks.

According to various reports, among his suitors are Borussia Dortmund, Manchester United, Chelsea, Barcelona and Real Madrid.

Speaking to Sport1, Draxler said: “Which boy doesn’t dream about playing for Real, Barca, Chelsea or Manchester United? That’s nothing to be ashamed of.”

Draxler, an attacking midfielder who has already won six caps for his national side, has a buy-out clause of 45.5 million euros – something his club chairman said bidders will have to meet if they want to secure his services.

Roger Wittmann told Bild: “The player costs 45.5 million, and he has to agree. These are the conditions of the transfer.”

Marca claims in its front page that Zinedine Zidane and Florentino Perez have agreed that the Frenchman will become Carlo Ancelotti’s assistant, after Real Madrid legend resigned to be the sports director.

“Zidane will give lessons”, the most sold Spanish newspaper claims.

The Madrid daily also states that Real have put the brake on Gonzalo Higuain’s exit. “His situation will not change until the arrival of the new manager”, they say.

The other main Madrid sports newspaper, As, brings to its front page the good performance of Iker Casillas with Spanish national team. “Mourinho couldn’t destroy Casillas”, they title. “The keeper’s two saves in New York certify he is still the best”, they claim.

As also highlights Florentino Perez’s words about the future of Zidane: “He can have the same role that Karanka had with Mourinho”.

The Madrid paper also emphasizes the 3-0 victory of the Spanish under-21 national team over The Netherlands in which Real Madrid’s youngter Alvaro Morata scored again.

French club Monaco are ready to make a world record 100 million euros bid for Real Madrid forward Cristiano Ronaldo, the Independent had claimed.

The Portuguese forward has just two years left on his current deal at the Santiago Bernabeu and has previously stated he is unhappy with life in the Spanish capital.

While talks have begun over a new deal, they are at an impasse, and Monaco – bank-rolled by Russian billionaire Dmitry Rybolovlev- are ready to offer an escape route, the paper said.

The report claimed Monaco officials are monitoring the situation between Ronaldo and his club and if no agreement is reached in the coming weeks, will offer a mega deal towards the end of the transfer window.

The newly-promoted Ligue 1 side has already spent around 130 million euros this summer to secure the signings of Radamel Falcao from Atletico Madrid and James Rodriguez and Joao Moutinho from Porto.

As well as paying a world-record fee for Cristiano Ronaldo, Monaco would be prepared to offer wages of 20 million euros a year. With no income tax for residents of the principality, the forward would take home a weekly wage of around 390,000 euros.

Real Madrid 11-1 Barcelona - 1943 Copa

The Clasicos between Real Madrid and Barcelona are often considered to be more than just a football match. There are few things that can please a fan more than beating their fiercest rival.

This week is the 70th anniversary of the biggest humiliation Los Merengues inflicted on Los Cules, defeating them 11-1 in the second leg of the semifinals of the 1943 Copa.

The story of that avalanche of goals began in the first leg. Barca won 3-0 at Les Corts Stadium and it seemed impossible that they would not qualify. However, the Madridistas finished that game very angry, and it wasn’t only for the result.

In fact, both the team and Madrid press complained about the hostile atmosphere they received at Les Corts, something very unusual at that time. That helped turn up the heat for the return leg. Before the game, more than 20,000 whistles were sold with the intention of creating an intimidating atmosphere for the Azulgrana.

That tactic worked perfectly for Los Blancos, as Real, with an impressive atmosphere at their stadium, were able to embarrass Barca, leading 8-0 at half-time. In the second half, Los Merengues played with less intensity and the final score was an historic 11-1.

Barcelona’s goalkeeper Miro was so ashamed that he never played football again. The Azulgrana complained about having been intimidated by police and about the unfriendly environment on and around the field.

One of the people that complained the most was journalist Juan Antonio Samaranch, who denounced insistently what Barca suffered in Madrid. His complaints were in vain, and he was even banned from writing in a newspaper. That was the moment when he left journalism apart and started a career that would finally bring him to the presidency of the International Olympic Committee.

The chairman of Dubai-based club Al Ahli has said he would not stand in the way should Fabio Cannavaro be offered a position on the coaching staff at Real Madrid.

The World Cup-winning captain, who played for Los Blancos for three years, has been linked with a coaching role at the Santiago Bernabeu should Carlo Ancelotti take over a manager.

Abdulla Al Naboodah told Dubai based paper Sport360 that he would not prevent Cannavaro joining the Spanish giants.

If Real approached I would be proud, don’t you think?” he said.

Cannavaro, who was in Madrid last weekend for the Classic Corazon Match between Real Madrid Legends and Juventus Legends, has gone on record saying countryman Ancelotti would be a great choice as manager.

“Ancelotti is a very experienced coach. He won the Champions League with Milan and has also won things in England and France. He has a good resume to do well in Madrid,” he stated.

France and Real Madrid striker Karim Benzema has stated he has no intention of quitting the Spanish giants this summer.

In an interview with Madrid-based daily Marca, the forward dismissed speculation linking him with a move to Premier League champions Manchester United.

He did admit, however, that he was disappointed with his form in the 2012-13 season and would be doing everything in his power to improve the situation next season.

The former Lyon hitman added he was eager to help the club get back to winning major titles and making the fans happy following a disappointing final year under old boss Jose Mourinho in which Los Blancos finished second in La Liga, lost the Copa del Rey final at home to Atletico de Madrid, and were dumped out of the Champions League at the semi final stage.

He said: “Of course I’m staying. I’m happy at Real Madrid and I’m not going to leave. I’m eager to win titles, but I think we all need to disconnect a bit.

“Keep supporting us as always and next season we’ll give our all and try to win domestic titles and of course the Champions League.”
