Rayo Vallecano vs Real Madrid match preview

Real Madrid will go into this fixture on the back of a ten-goal thriller with Sevilla where Los Blancos scored seven to see off their opponents.

However Carlo Ancelotti’s men conceded three goals and will be looking to improve defensively against a very attacking Vallecano side.

Rayo are sitting in the relegation places with just nine points on the board and will certainly have some bite about them as they look to improve on their recent form.

Real are third in the table behind Atletico Madrid and Barcelona, but will be buoyed by the goal scoring exploits of Gareth Bale who now has three for his new club.

French striker Karim Benzema was also on the score sheet after a disappointing run that has seen him benched at the Santiago Bernabeu.

The visitors will be confident of a victory as their Madrid neighbours have not beaten them in the league since 1997.

Rayo striker Alberto Bueno is his side’s top scorer on two goals and will need to be in fine fettle if he wants to give the home crowd something to cheer about.

Rayo Vallecano: Ruben; Tito, Galvez, Niguez, Arbilla; Trashorras, Adrian; Lass, Falque, Viera; Bueno.

Real Madrid: Lopez, Carvajal, Pepe, Ramos, Coentrao; Alonso, Modric, Di Maria; Bale, Benzema, Ronaldo.
