Sergio Ramos was exultant after having scored a decisive goal for Real Madrid to conquer La Decima. “The reward and satisfaction are incredible. We have fought until the end and this goal isn’t just mine, it’s all of the Madrid fans. All of them who have supported us to the final and got their result,” he said after the match.

The Spanish defender scored the equaliser against Atletico Madrid in the 93rd minute, sending the Champions League final into extra time. Real went on to win 4-1 and lifted their 10th title after 12 years of wait.

“After so many years it’s a great pleasure to dedicate this to the fans, all of them who have come and are at home. Viva Madrid, viva Camas, viva Seville, viva Andalusia and viva España,” Ramos told the reporters.

Asked about his feelings after the final, Ramos confessed “I can’t explain what I’m feeling inside.” “Today we’ve made history and against an Atlético side that have had a great season and deservedly won the league. After having gone through the good and the bad in a split second, to draw in the last minute, the hug with Casillas is a hug for all Madrid fans,” he added.

“The Decima tastes of all the sacrifice that it entails. We’ve maintained our humility and strength and today we can enjoy it, we dedicate it to all Madrid fans, those who have come and those who are at home. My goal is dedicated to my grandfather, my wife and my child. Now we have to celebrate it with all the fans,” Ramos concluded.
