Real Madrid midfielder Toni Kroos says people shouldn’t write Los Blancos off in the title race just yet.

Zinedine Zidane’s team lost ground on leaders Barcelona at the weekend as they could only manage a 1-1 draw with Real Betis.

The result leaves the 10-time Champions League winners four points off the pace with Barcelona having a game in hand and able to extend their lead to seven points. City rivals Atletico de Madrid are also four points ahead but have played the same amount of games.

But speaking to Madrid-based daily Marca, German World Cup winner Kroos said Real are determined to fight all the way to the end of the campaign.

“We won’t give up, that would be stupid. We’ve still got to play Barca and they could be dropping points at other grounds. Obviously the situation isn’t ideal, but things are changing,” he stated.

And he added: “If you look at our last few performances, we’re playing a lot better. Like I said, the situation in the table isn’t ideal, but we have to keep working hard and improving the way we have done in the last three matches. We’ve got to kick on and pick up as many points as possible from here on.”
