Kylian Mbappé won’t play at Real Madrid next year, according to Zinedine Zidane. The manager said today in press conference that the club won’t sign another footballer in these last days of the transfer window, so the squad is closed. Borja Mayoral, then, will have his opportunity with Los Blancos.

“I don’t want another striker. Mayoral wasn’t included in the lists because we are 25 and some of them should leave, but I count on him. For him it’s a year to learn and be ready whenever he has the opportunity to play, because he’ll have them”.

Zizou spoke in press conference before facing Valencia, where he has the problem in the defense line because Varane, Sergio Ramos and Vallejo are unavailable: “Varane wants to play but he has something. I don’t want to risk. We are evaluating what to do but I don’t want him to play tomorrow, even if Sergio or Vallejo are not ready. The player’s health matters more. It happened in the first leg against Barcelona and 15 days have passed since then. He trained, rested… but the best thing is not no risk and wait until it’s solved. We’ll take advantage of the stop, so he’s quite to think in his recovery”.

Zidane doesn’t want more players even if they have some problems in the defensive line: “We have four full backs, we don’t need any players. It won’t happen again. We have Casemiro or Marcos Llorente, who have played in this role. We’ll make it”.

Los Blancos will have a difficult test against Valencia: “We are very motivated with the game because it’s a rival that is playing well, well organized, defending well… We know the difficulty, we are motivated”.

Cristiano won the UEFA award as the best player last season and he confirmed he’ll stay one more year in Madrid: “I never thought about a team without Cristiano. He’s here, he won’t move. It’s his team, his city, he’s happy with everything he has here. There have been a lot of talk but he’s here”.

Finally, Zidane doesn’t want to talk about being favourites to win everything: “We know this is not true, it’s the beautiful thing about football. You can win many things but the day after you can fail. We need to show that we’re well always and we want to keep going with our good form. If you are not concentrated, you can lose a game”.
