Manchester United have not given up in their intention to retain David de Gea in the club and they will try until the end to convince the goalkeeper. In these cases, the best way to convince him is by giving him more money, and this is what the Red Devils will offer him as soon as possible.

According to the Manchester Evening Standard, Manchester United are preparing a new renewal offer to the Spaniard, giving him even more money. Despite De Gea renewed his contract two years ago, just after he was about to move to Madrid, and his current deal expires in 2019, the Manchester United bosses are ready to offer him a new contract.

The goalkeeper could be offered a new contract of £200,000-a-week, so he will become one of the highest paid players in the squad. If De Gea rejects this offer, United must negotiate with Real Madrid because they don’t want to keep players in the club against their will.

At that point, it won’t be easy for Real Madrid. The British team has said several times that they will ask for the highest ever transfer fee for a goalkeeper. Currently the record is for Gianluigi Buffon because Juventus paid €50M to Parma. It was said that Real Madrid will pay €75M.

If Manchester United get this huge amount of money for De Gea, the cash won’t stay longer in the safe. The Red Devils will need to go into the market and find a replacement. The favourite one is Gianluigi Donnarumma, Milan goalkeeper, and the Italian club will also ask for more than €70M.

With this situation, it’s very likely that we will see another summer with a lot of rumours around David De Gea. Florentino Pérez wants to speed up the negotiation so we don’t see the same issues with the paperwork we witnessed two years ago. Real Madrid president has a masters degree in tough negotiations and De Gea’s will be another one.
