Zinedine Zidane spoke in press conference before travelling to Valencia to play a postponed game that was scheduled in December. However, Los Blancos won the Champions League and they had to play the FIFA Club World Cup, so they had to put off this fixture.

For this reason, Los Blancos can now open a gap of four points with FC Barcelona: “If we win this game, we have three points more. We will have to work against a team who has been playing much better and in a difficult stadium”. Actually, Real Madrid couldn’t win at Mestalla in the last two seasons.

Zizou wanted to give a message before travelling to Mestalla: “It’s always the same. We know La Liga is difficult. We are in February and we are fine, but this doesn’t mean anything. Tomorrow we have another tough game. It’s a game that only Valencia and Real Madrid are playing and we can get these points”

Isco was the best player against Espanyol and the playmaker has still to renew his contract with Real Madrid. The Spaniard is thinking twice before signing it because he doesn’t know if he’s going to have many minutes: “I understand Isco has doubts. I listen to him. But I think he’s really focus now. He’s very good. The thing of rotating the team is that a footballer is going to play 20 or 25 games and if you don’t put him in the next one, he is not going to like it. It happened to me. The player always wants to play. I want everybody to be focused and this is happening right now. I want this until the end of the season”, Zidane explained.

Regarding Pepe’s future, Zidane says he’s quite happy with him: “Pepe is an important player and when he plays, he always does it well. The contract is not my business. I’m going to count on him until the end”.

The Real Madrid manager doesn’t want to think about the future and he’s only focus in the current season: “I’m cheerful because of what we are doing right now. We can’t think about what is going to happen in June. Then, we’ll see what happens this summer”.

Zidane confirmed that Cristiano Ronaldo will play against Valencia and spoke about his new role: “He has played all his lived there. It’s his role. And of course he’ll score from there. He’s a star and he can play anywhere, but his natural position and where he’s scored 400 goals is from there”, the manager finished.
