Zinedine Zidane can beat a new record with Real Madrid if Los Blancos don’t lose against Deportivo Coruña in the match they will play today at Santiago Bernabéu. Since Zidane’s arrival, Los Blancos have improved a lot their results and they are unbeaten for a long time ago. Real Madrid don’t lose a match since the game of Champions League against Wolfsburg where they lost 2-0 in a very poor match of Zidane’s players in April 6. In the second leg Los Blancos made a incredible overcome winning 3-0 with a hat trick of Cristiano Ronaldo. Since that Champions League match, Real Madrid have achieved 34 games in a row without any defeat.

Now Zidane hopes to maintain these last results this afternoon, another one for the French manager in his stage at Madrid. If Los Blancos don’t lose against Deportivo Coruña they will reach 35 games without any defeat and they will establish a new record in Real Madrid’s history. If Real Madrid win Deportivo de la Coruña they will overcome the actual Real Madrid record that was with Beenhakker on the bench in the year 1989.

Zidane also can achieve a new record in La Liga. Now a days Los Blancos have been 26 matches unbeaten in the regular season (last defeat was against Atlético on February 27), and the record is in 29 matches unbeaten that was in the season 1995-1996. We must inform that this record was achieved with two different coaches (Arsenio Iglesias with 5 games unbeaten and Capello with 24). If Real Madrid don’t lose in the next four regular season games (Deportivo, Granada, Sevilla and Málaga), this new record would also become Zidane’s property.

Is the second year of Zidane as a coach and his results have been amazing. Despite there were doubts at the beginning, the French manager can be consider now a days as one of the best managers in the world.

Los Blancos want to sign a midfielder for the next season and now they are focused in a Tottenham Hotspur player. The rising star Dele Alli, was one of the the best players in the last Premier League season. The English midfielder have all the conditions for triumph at Madrid and Florentino Pérez has add in his list this name for a possible sign for the next season.

Currently Dele Allis is being one of the Mauricio Pochettino key players and the English club does not consider the possible sign of his star for the next year. According to the British newspaper Mirror, Real Madrid would be willing to bid with PSG for the signing of Dale Alli. The price of this player is quite high but Real Madrid must consider that is one of the best young players in Europe. Dele Alli’s price is around €50M. The English midfielder renewed with Tottenham last summer with a salary of around €3M per season, a figure that both Real Madrid and PSG would be willing to overcome he he finally decides to London.

Dele Alli has participated in 13 games this year in Premier League, where he has scored an amount of three goals. The best quality the English midfielder has is that he is able to defend very good and he has the facility of incorporate to the attack. This players are very usual in Premier League they are named “box to box players”. This type of players can finish the season scoring many goals because they usually incorporate to the attack.

Dele Alli is only 20 years old and he already has two years of experience in the Premier League. Last year his numbers were amazing, he scored 10 goal in the Premier League being a key player for his team. He also participated in the Euro Cup played at France where he played four matches in the tournament.

Zinedine Zidane has announced in press conference that Karim Benzema will have some rest against Deportivo La Coruña, like other players in the squad. Los Blancos travel next week to Japan to lift the third trophy in 2016, the FIFA World Cup. Benzema’s replacement in the starting eleven will be Álvaro Morata.

Real Madrid supporters missed the former Juventus player during his time injured. Morata could have had a lot of minutes in November but he got injured in a game with Spain at Wembley. Unfortunately, he could take the chance when Benzema was out of fit and Gareth Bale got injured. Lucas Vázquez, for instance, has had a lot of minutes during this period.

Luckily for Zinedine Zidane, Toni Kroos and Álvaro Morata have shorten their time in the sickroom and both came back against Borussia Dortmund. The striker played only five minutes in the Champions League but he will have the opportunity to start on Saturday against Deportivo La Coruña.

Before getting injured, Morata was the topscorer of the squad. So far, the striker has scored 8 goals in all competitions. In the Champions League he found the net against Sporting Lisbon -the winner in the last minute- and Legia Warsaw and in La Liga he wrote his name in the scoresheet four times.

However, it looks like Morata has given more to the team when he has started on the bench. It happened also in his time with Juventus. For this reason, Morata has to take advantage of these games to show Zidane that he’s able to start and play an important role for the team, even if Bale or Benzema are out of the pitch.

Most of the Real Madrid theoretical substitutes have played a great role this season, including Morata. Lucas Vázquez, Isco, Mateo Kovacic have taking advantage of the absence of important players in the squad. Now it’s also time for Morata to score some goals and show his quality in front of Real Madrid supporters.

Zinedine Zidane spoke in press conference before the last game of La Liga this year. Los Blancos face Deportivo de la Coruña at Santiago Bernabéu with the goal of keeping the distances with FC Barcelona, who will play in Pamplona against Osasuna.

The French manager announced a lot of changes for the game, including Karim Benzema, who didn’t train with the colleagues: “He’s available, but we’re giving him some rest. Tomorrow he’s going to rest, like other players”.

It will be a tough game, according to the manager, Deportivo thrashed Real Sociedad on Monday and they’ve lost a lot of points in the last minutes of the games: “Seeing Deportivo in this position is very strange. Tough game and the last of the year”.

It could be a good weekend for Real Madrid because Barcelona play away: “Six points it’s not an important gap. It’s not to think that we are going to win La Liga”. If Real Madrid don’t lose, Zidane will have the longest unbeaten run in the history of the club: “The important thing is the job the players are doing, not what the manager does”.

Zidane also spoke about the problems with the Tax Revenue that some Real Madrid players are facing. There are some informations about Cristiano Ronaldo, Pepe, Modric or Fabio Coentrao and the possibility that these players are not paying the taxes to the Spanish authorities: “When people talk about these issues, of course, it affects. I hope this can be sorted very quickly. I don’t want parallel trials. The footballers know what they do”.

Finally, of course, Zidane spoke about James Rodríguez. The Colombian played a good game against Borussia Dortmund and the manager was very clear about his future: “James won’t leave, I don’t want him to leave”.

Real Madrid v Deportivo Preview

Los Blancos arrived to the game after drawing in the Champions League against Borussia Dortmund. The point meant that Los Blancos finished second in the group stage, but they might face easy rivals in the Last 16 Round. So they have a bittersweet feeling after the two games against FC Barcelona and Borussia Dortmund.

After El Clásico, Zidane’s side still have 6 points of advantage with FC Barcelona, so they can go on holidays in Christmas as leaders of the table if they are able to beat Deportivo. Besides, Zidane has recovered all the players and only Gareth Bale is ruled out. Morata and Toni Kroos enjoyed some minutes against Borussia. Benzema has some problems and Zidane has announced that he will rest.

Deportivo are fighting at the bottom of the table to avoid the relegation zone. They thrashed Real Sociedad on Monday, so they are now one point clear of the bottom three. Garitano could have been axed if Deportivo had failed to beat Real Sociedad but now he has some credit to continue in charge. Laure and Bruno Gama won’t be available for the trip to the capital.

Los Blancos couldn’t beat Borussia Dortmund at Santiago Bernabéu (2-2), so they qualified second of the group in the Champions League. They will play the first leg of the Last 16 round at Santiago Bernabéu and the second one away.

Taking in consideration that Real Madrid cannot play with any other team in La Liga and they have to play against the leaders of the groups, Los Blancos could face Arsenal, Leicester City, Monaco, Juventus and Napoli. Atlético Madrid and Barcelona won also their groups but two teams from the same country cannot meet in the Last 16 Round.

Some people said that it was better to finish second of the group. In this position, Zidane’s side has avoided Bayern Múnich, PSG or Manchester City, who have also finished in the second position.

According to the stats, Real Madrid have more probabilities to face Arsenal (21,74%), then Leicester City (21,22%), Monaco (20,91%) Juventus (18,51%) and Napoli (17,62%).

Zidane has already said that they want to avoid Juventus. The Italian champions knocked out Real Madrid two years ago in the Champions League semifinals to earn the ticket to the Berlin final against Barcelona.

The other Italian side, Napoli, is more interesting and both teams met several years ago, when Maradona was playing in South Italy, and Real Madrid won the draw in the 1987-88 season.

Arsenal are always very unlucky in the Champions League draw and they’ve faced Bayern Munich or Barcelona in the recent years. With Real Madrid, the gunners have better memories as they were able to win at Bernabéu (0-1) with Henry scoring the winner and after the Londoners draw at home, kicking out Real Madrid of the competition in 2006. Real Madrid have never played against Premier League champions Leicester City and it would be interesting to see again Ranieri at Bernabéu.

Real Madrid have also bad memories with Monaco and Los Blancos might want ‘vendetta’. In 2003, Real Madrid were the title holders and they faced the Ligue One team. Los Blancos won 4-2 at Bernabéu, with Morientes scoring a goal for Monaco, but they were surprisingly thrashed at Louis II and kicked out of the competition. Monaco arrived to the final and lost against Porto, trained by José Mourinho.

We’ll see on Monday the draw. In the meantime, which team do you prefer?

Real Madrid supporters kept a close eye to some Borussia Dortmund players. Julian Weigl and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang are in Los Blancos agenda for the next season and both did a great game at Bernabéu Stadium. Especially, the Gabonese striker left a great feeling to the supporters and who knows if he could come back dressed in white very soon.

Aubameyang was a constant threat to Keylor Navas’ goal. The African striker could find the net in the second half and he was always a headache to Sergio Ramos and Raphael Varane. Real Madrid supporters could see in live his speed and also Florentino Pérez, who received messages to sign the striker.

Actually, the first message came from the actual footballer. In an interview after the game with BeinSports, the journalist joked about telling Florentino Pérez to sign him and the striker said laughing “OK”. He showed also his language skills speaking a great Spanish because part of his family come from the country.

He was also asked about the possibility of signing for Real Madrid and his dream of playing at Bernabéu: “Yes, it’s a promise I made to my grandfather, but right now I feel really well at Dortmund. In the future we’ll see”, Aubameyang said.

He did an assist to Marco Reus in the second goal and also scored another one, so he was one of the best players of the game. Aubameyang was very happy with the performance: “We tried until the end. We did our game and, finally, the point is fine”, the African player said. Although they can face big teams, the striker is not afraid of the draw: “We don’t care about the rival”.

In the first half, Aubameyang and Borussia Dortmund had less chances but the team improved in the second half: “In the half time we spoke. We all knew we could do something. We did great in the second half”, Aubameyang finished.

Real Madrid failed to win the game against Borussia Dortmund so they finished second in the group stage in the Champions League. Therefore, Los Blancos will have to play the first leg of the Last 16 at Santiago Bernabéu stadium but they’ve avoided some big teams like Bayern Munich or Manchester City.

Zinedine Zidane is not concerned for not winning the group but he has his preferences in the draw: “I don’t want Juventus, for two reasons… But we’ll see on Monday who we have to play against, I can’t do anything”.

According to Zidane it’s not better to be second of the group: “It doesn’t matter. I wanted to be first and we did everything to lead the group. I’m not going to think twice about it. On Monday I’ll see the draw. It’s not easy what the players are doing”, the manager said.

The French coach was quite happy about his team performance: “We’ve forgiven them with the chances we had… We did our best to be the first and we didn’t achieve it. But I’m very proud for all my players did. We had a great rival with great players. We lack a bit of attention at the end. We can’t do anything else”.

James Rodríguez finally started the game and he played some good minutes: “He has done a great performance and I’m happy for him. He did a great cross to Benzema in the goal but I’m not happy for it, but for the game”. Zidane was also asked about Karim Benzema: “For any striker it’s very important to score two goal, especially in these kind of games. I’m happy for Karim but also for his work. And Karim scored two goals thank to his team mates, who left him in a good position to score”, Zidane finished.

Real Madrid drew (2-2) against Borussia Dortmund at Santiago Bernabéu and failed to win the group in the Champions League. Los Blancos were leading 2-0 but couldn’t keep the result. Zinedine Zidane gave the opportunity to James Rodríguez, after not playing any minute in El Clásico. Actually the French manager said that they had “a problem” with the Colombian. He was at a good level and helped the team in the match.

Borussia Dortmund showed his quality at Santiago Bernabéu and the German side had several chances to score a goal. Keylor Navas made a couple of good saves, especially a great one from a free kick from Schurrle. Aubameyang didn’t have his evening, although he was very active and always a danger for Los Blancos.

Real Madrid took the lead in the first half thanks to a goal from Benzema. The French striker found the net after a great assist from Daniel Carvajal in the minute 28. The former Olympique Lyon player was very criticized after El Clásico and he shut the criticism with two goals. Borussia pushed very hard at the end of the first half but they couldn’t draw the game.

In the second half, Benzema had a very clear chance, very similar to the first one, but Weidenfeller saved it. Right after the chance, Benzema scored the second goal in the 53rd minute.Borussia Dortmund reacted and Aubameyang scored very quickly the goal to shorten the gap (61’).

In the last 30 minutes we saw a lot of chances. Borussia Dortmund could level the game, but Benzema or Cristiano Ronaldo had the easiest one to score. But the post or the defenders saved the chances and Marco Reus could equalize in the 88th minute. Perhaps this was the best Real Madrid game at Bernabéu this season, but Los Blancos couldn’t achieve the goal. Now the are second of the group and could face Leicester City, Arsenal, Monaco, Napoli and Juventus.

Champions League trophy

The main goal against Borussia Dortmund is to win the game and finish first of the Group F of the Champions League. However, what if Real Madrid finish second? There are pros and cons about it.

Zinedine Zidane said in the press conference before the game that Los Blancos are not doing any calculations and that they will play to win and beat Borussia Dortmund. Nevertheless, we should have a look at the several possibilities opened if Real Madrid cannot win Borussia Dortmund.

The first important thing is that the first of the group will play the second leg of the Last 16 Round at home. Therefore, Real Madrid will have the possibility to play with their supporters at Santiago Bernabéu the second game. Last season, for instance, Real Madrid played all the draws with the second game at home. Something always beneficial. However, in the past, Real Madrid won the ticket for the Champions League finals in 1998, 2000 and 2014 outside Santiago Bernabéu.

If you are top of the Champions League group, you should play against easier rivals in the Last 16 Round because you can only face the second teams. But this year the situation is different. With four groups already finished, the seconds were PSG, Bayern Múnich, Manchester City and Benfica. We also know for sure that Bayer Leverkusen will finish second and Porto is very likely to finish behind Leicester City. So these could be Real Madrid rivals if they are first of the group.

If Real Madrid finish second, they will avoid to play against Barcelona and Atlético Madrid, because teams from the same country cannot play together. Therefore, they could face Napoli and Arsenal -who earned on Tuesday their ticket to the Last 16 round in the first position-. Monaco or Leicester City have also secured the first position, whereas Juventus have to win at home Dinamo Zagreb to top the group.

So which teams do you prefer?

The option if Real Madrid lead the group: PSG, Bayern Munich, Manchester City, Benfica, Bayer Leverkusen or Porto.

If Los Blancos finish second: Napoli, Arsenal, Monaco, Leicester City or Juventus.
