Zinedine Zidane can beat a new record with Real Madrid if Los Blancos don’t lose against Deportivo Coruña in the match they will play today at Santiago Bernabéu. Since Zidane’s arrival, Los Blancos have improved a lot their results and they are unbeaten for a long time ago. Real Madrid don’t lose a match since the game of Champions League against Wolfsburg where they lost 2-0 in a very poor match of Zidane’s players in April 6. Zinedine Zidane has announced in press conference that Karim Benzema will have some rest against Deportivo La Coruña, like other players in the squad. Los Blancos travel next week to Japan to lift the third trophy in 2016, the FIFA World Cup. Benzema’s replacement in the starting eleven will be Álvaro Morata.

Real Madrid supporters missed the former Juventus player during his time injured. Morata could have had a lot of minutes in November but he got injured in a game with Spain at Wembley. Unfortunately, he could take the chance when Benzema was out of fit and Gareth Bale got injured. Lucas Vázquez, for instance, has had a lot of minutes during this period.

Luckily for Zinedine Zidane, Toni Kroos and Álvaro Morata have shorten their time in the sickroom and both came back against Borussia Dortmund. The striker played only five minutes in the Champions League but he will have the opportunity to start on Saturday against Deportivo La Coruña.

Zinedine Zidane spoke in press conference before the last game of La Liga this year. Los Blancos face Deportivo de la Coruña at Santiago Bernabéu with the goal of keeping the distances with FC Barcelona, who will play in Pamplona against Osasuna.

The French manager announced a lot of changes for the game, including Karim Benzema, who didn’t train with the colleagues: “He’s available, but we’re giving him some rest. Tomorrow he’s going to rest, like other players”.

It will be a tough game, according to the manager, Deportivo thrashed Real Sociedad on Monday and they’ve lost a lot of points in the last minutes of the games: “Seeing Deportivo in this position is very strange. Tough game and the last of the year”.

It could be a good weekend for Real Madrid because Barcelona play away: “Six points it’s not an important gap. It’s not to think that we are going to win La Liga”. Los Blancos couldn’t beat Borussia Dortmund at Santiago Bernabéu (2-2), so they qualified second of the group in the Champions League. They will play the first leg of the Last 16 round at Santiago Bernabéu and the second one away.

Taking in consideration that Real Madrid cannot play with any other team in La Liga and they have to play against the leaders of the groups, Los Blancos could face Arsenal, Leicester City, Monaco, Juventus and Napoli. Atlético Madrid and Barcelona won also their groups but two teams from the same country cannot meet in the Last 16 Round.

Some people said that it was better to finish second of the group. In this position, Zidane’s side has avoided Bayern Múnich, PSG or Manchester City, who have also finished in the second position.

According to the stats, Real Madrid have more probabilities to face Arsenal (21,74%), then Leicester City (21,22%), Monaco (20,91%) Juventus (18,51%) and Napoli (17,62%).

Real Madrid supporters kept a close eye to some Borussia Dortmund players. Julian Weigl and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang are in Los Blancos agenda for the next season and both did a great game at Bernabéu Stadium. Especially, the Gabonese striker left a great feeling to the supporters and who knows if he could come back dressed in white very soon.

Aubameyang was a constant threat to Keylor Navas’ goal. The African striker could find the net in the second half and he was always a headache to Sergio Ramos and Raphael Varane. Real Madrid supporters could see in live his speed and also Florentino Pérez, who received messages to sign the striker.

Actually, the first message came from the actual footballer. In an interview after the game with BeinSports, the journalist joked about telling Florentino Pérez to sign him and the striker said laughing “OK”. He showed also his language skills speaking a great Spanish because part of his family come from the country.

He was also asked about the possibility of signing for Real Madrid and his dream of playing at Bernabéu: “Yes, it’s a promise I made to my grandfather, but right now I feel really well at Dortmund. In the future we’ll see”, Aubameyang said.

He did an assist to Marco Reus in the second goal and also scored another one, so he was one of the best players of the game. Aubameyang was very happy with the performance: “We tried until the end. Real Madrid drew (2-2) against Borussia Dortmund at Santiago Bernabéu and failed to win the group in the Champions League. Los Blancos were leading 2-0 but couldn’t keep the result. Zinedine Zidane gave the opportunity to James Rodríguez, after not playing any minute in El Clásico. Actually the French manager said that they had “a problem” with the Colombian. He was at a good level and helped the team in the match.

Borussia Dortmund showed his quality at Santiago Bernabéu and the German side had several chances to score a goal. Keylor Navas made a couple of good saves, especially a great one from a free kick from Schurrle. Aubameyang didn’t have his evening, although he was very active and always a danger for Los Blancos.

Real Madrid took the lead in the first half thanks to a goal from Benzema. The French striker found the net after a great assist from Daniel Carvajal in the minute 28. The former Olympique Lyon player was very criticized after El Clásico and he shut the criticism with two goals.
