Gareth Bale is now having rest in Cardiff after undertaking surgery in London in the Hospital King Edward VII on Tuesday. The Welshman left the hospital on Wednesday morning and headed Cardiff, where he will rest a few weeks before coming back to Madrid to start training with his team mates.

Real Madrid made an official statement in their website where the club said that the operation was a success: “Our player Gareth Bale has successfully come through the operation he underwent today after suffering an injury to the peroneal tendons in his right ankle. The operation was carried out at London’s King Edward VII Hospital by Dr. James Calder and Real Madrid Sanitas’ Dr. Mikel Aramberri, under the supervision of Dr. Jesús Olmo, head of Real Madrid’s medical department”.

Gareth Bale left the hospital on Wednesday morning with a plaster and he jump into a van to travel to Cardiff. In his way out of the King Edward VII, Bale said “I’m fine, thank you”. The Welshman should be back in three months to face the Last 16 Round of the Champions League.

Therefore, Gareth Bale will watch on TV the next El Clásico at Camp Nou and the important games of Borussia Dortmund and the FIFA World Cup. Luckily for Real Madrid, Álvaro Morata and Toni Kroos are improving very fast from their injuries and they should be able to travel to Japan to help the team to get the last trophy of the year.

Zinedine Zidane will have to think how to replace Gareth Bale in El Clásico. The game against Sporting Gijón showed that Karim Benzema is not at his best, so Los Blancos might have a problem in the attacking line. Lucas Vázquez should occupy one side of the attacking line, whereas Isco could play behind the striker, Cristiano Ronaldo.

Antoine Griezmann said recently that he would never sign for Real Madrid. The French striker said that because both clubs maintain a great relationship recently and they don’t sign any player for the city rivals. Santiago Hernán Solari, in 2000, was the last player who changed Vicente Calderón for Santiago Bernabéu. He gave the assist to Zinedine Zidane in the famous goal in the Champions League final in 2002.

Real Madrid face Cultural Leonesa on Wednesday (20.00 local time) in the second leg of the Last 32 Round of the Copa del Rey. However, everybody is talking about El Clásico, the best game of the season that will take place on Saturday at Camp Nou.

Zinedine Zidane spoke in press conference and confirmed that Casemiro will play tomorrow against Cultural Leonesa, so he might be available to play on Saturday: “Casemiro is going to have minutes. The idea is that he plays tomorrow. Then, we’ll see on Saturday. He’s back with the group so theoretically, he’s ready to play”, Zidane said. The coach also confirmed that Fabio Coentrao is injured, James Rodríguez will have minutes tomorrow and Cristiano Ronaldo will rest.

Some big names won’t play the game, so it’s time for the youngsters: “Enzo, Tejero and Odegaard will be with us. Perhaps, someone else, but the normal thing will be the three of them, together with everybody who will be available for tomorrow”.

Los Blancos thrashed 1-7 Cultural Leonesa but they want to give a good show tomorrow: “We face the game knowing the result of the first leg. Real Madrid players are getting ready for El Clásico in the next Saturday. They have to face earlier the second leg against Cultural Leonesa in the Last 32 Round in Copa del Rey, after the beat the team 1-7 in the first leg. Lucas Vázquez and Nacho have spoken in the unveiling of their new boots with Adidas.

Los Blancos face El Clásico with a run of 31 games unbeaten. According to Lucas, this is thanks to the coach: “I think Zidane knows how to handle the squad. We have the best squad in the world and this run can only be achieved with a large squad”, the winger said.

He’s one of the favourite players of the supporters: “We have great fans and they support everybody. I’m very helpful for this acknowledgment and I want to give back this love with work and victories”, the former Espanyol player.

Nacho is also happy at this moment with Real Madrid and the supporters also like him. The defender was asked about if this is the best moment in his career: “Perhaps it is. I’m having continuity. I feel very well physically. We have to keep working so everything continues the same”.

Toni Kroos has recently extended his contract with Real Madrid until 2021. He will be 32 years old by then and he opened a possibility to retire with Los Blancos. The German midfielder has said several times that he is very happy living in Spain and playing with Real Madrid, so it’s a possibility to think about it.

Although Toni Kroos is still very young, he’s already thinking in his retirement. The former Bayern Múnich player doesn’t want to play until he’s 40 and he sees the time for retiring sooner: “I will be 32 at the end of the contract. I don’t expect to play until 38 or 39. With 32 years old, you’ve played your better years in football. Regarding the physical aspect, it’s a good time to stop”, Toni Kroos said to the newspaper Kicker.

After the victory of yesterday against Sporting Gijón, some Real Madrid players had received some critics with the poor performance they showed. Los Blancos could win against a team that is in the low part of the table, but we saw a really poor match of Zidane’s players.
