Gareth Bale is now having rest in Cardiff after undertaking surgery in London in the Hospital King Edward VII on Tuesday. The Welshman left the hospital on Wednesday morning and headed Cardiff, where he will rest a few weeks before coming back to Madrid to start training with his team mates.

Real Madrid made an official statement in their website where the club said that the operation was a success: “Our player Gareth Bale has successfully come through the operation he underwent today after suffering an injury to the peroneal tendons in his right ankle. The operation was carried out at London’s King Edward VII Hospital by Dr. James Calder and Real Madrid Sanitas’ Dr. Mikel Aramberri, under the supervision of Dr. Jesús Olmo, head of Real Madrid’s medical department”.

Gareth Bale left the hospital on Wednesday morning with a plaster and he jump into a van to travel to Cardiff. In his way out of the King Edward VII, Bale said “I’m fine, thank you”. The Welshman should be back in three months to face the Last 16 Round of the Champions League.

Therefore, Gareth Bale will watch on TV the next El Clásico at Camp Nou and the important games of Borussia Dortmund and the FIFA World Cup. Luckily for Real Madrid, Álvaro Morata and Toni Kroos are improving very fast from their injuries and they should be able to travel to Japan to help the team to get the last trophy of the year.

Zinedine Zidane will have to think how to replace Gareth Bale in El Clásico. The game against Sporting Gijón showed that Karim Benzema is not at his best, so Los Blancos might have a problem in the attacking line. Lucas Vázquez should occupy one side of the attacking line, whereas Isco could play behind the striker, Cristiano Ronaldo.

Gareth Bale was one of the best players of Real Madrid at the start of the season, so Los Blancos supporters will miss him these three months.

José María Giménez

The Uruguayan defender surprises everybody with his great performances in the last years. However, this season he’s not having continuity and Giménez has lost his place in the starting eleven for Savic. Real Madrid asked about him but Atlético always said that they will only sell him for the release clause, currently €60M.

Antoine Griezmann

He’s one of the best players of the world, helping Atlético Madrid and France to arrive to the finals in the Euro. Zinedine Zidane knows him very well and he will be very pleased if Griezmann finally change the club. However, there have not been real contacts about Griezmann yet.

Real Madrid face Cultural Leonesa on Wednesday (20.00 local time) in the second leg of the Last 32 Round of the Copa del Rey. However, everybody is talking about El Clásico, the best game of the season that will take place on Saturday at Camp Nou.

Zinedine Zidane spoke in press conference and confirmed that Casemiro will play tomorrow against Cultural Leonesa, so he might be available to play on Saturday: “Casemiro is going to have minutes. The idea is that he plays tomorrow. Then, we’ll see on Saturday. He’s back with the group so theoretically, he’s ready to play”, Zidane said. The coach also confirmed that Fabio Coentrao is injured, James Rodríguez will have minutes tomorrow and Cristiano Ronaldo will rest.

Some big names won’t play the game, so it’s time for the youngsters: “Enzo, Tejero and Odegaard will be with us. Perhaps, someone else, but the normal thing will be the three of them, together with everybody who will be available for tomorrow”.

Los Blancos thrashed 1-7 Cultural Leonesa but they want to give a good show tomorrow: “We face the game knowing the result of the first leg. The job well done, we still have to play the second leg and we should do it right for the people who are going to come to watch the game. We’ll try to win, as always”.

Real Madrid will try to keep the good run of 31 games unbeaten against Cultural Leonesa, although sometimes the team is not that intense when playing: “It’s human. I’m not concerned. What we have to do it’s to improve things. I can’t ask my player to give more than what they are doing. Things cannot always go right. What we have to do is to improve. I know it because I played football and sometimes I played bad […]. We are not down, but in a good moment to enjoy and keep going because we haven’t won anything”, Zidane said.

Finally, Zinedine Zidane has some word for the tragedy in Colombia, where a plane crashed with the players of Chapecoense on board: “It’s a tragedy. It’s complicated, difficult to face. We’re a bit sad. We want to give our condolences in the name of the club to all the families and friends”.

Real Madrid players are getting ready for El Clásico in the next Saturday. They have to face earlier the second leg against Cultural Leonesa in the Last 32 Round in Copa del Rey, after the beat the team 1-7 in the first leg. Lucas Vázquez and Nacho have spoken in the unveiling of their new boots with Adidas.

Los Blancos face El Clásico with a run of 31 games unbeaten. According to Lucas, this is thanks to the coach: “I think Zidane knows how to handle the squad. We have the best squad in the world and this run can only be achieved with a large squad”, the winger said.

He’s one of the favourite players of the supporters: “We have great fans and they support everybody. I’m very helpful for this acknowledgment and I want to give back this love with work and victories”, the former Espanyol player.

Nacho is also happy at this moment with Real Madrid and the supporters also like him. The defender was asked about if this is the best moment in his career: “Perhaps it is. I’m having continuity. I feel very well physically. We have to keep working so everything continues the same”.

According to the defender, the good moment of the team is thanks to Zizou: “A lot of the responsibility about the run is Zidane’s, because he’s the maximum responsible and the players have unity”. Lucas Vázquez agrees with his team mate: “In the daily basis, he’s very close to us. He’s been a player, so he knows how is training every day and the pressure”.

Finally, both were asked about El Clásico. Last year Real Madrid won, but this year they are better, according to Lucas: “In comparison with last season, we arrive in a good momento. We are top of the table, we are in good shape and willing to get the three points”.

The defender agrees and they are confident to win La Liga but there is still a lot of work to do: “We are in a good position but there are more than 20 games left. We haven’t been defeated in a while and we hope we continue this way. Hopefully we can get the three points from there. It will give us confidence”, Nacho finished.

Toni Kroos has recently extended his contract with Real Madrid until 2021. He will be 32 years old by then and he opened a possibility to retire with Los Blancos. The German midfielder has said several times that he is very happy living in Spain and playing with Real Madrid, so it’s a possibility to think about it.

Although Toni Kroos is still very young, he’s already thinking in his retirement. The former Bayern Múnich player doesn’t want to play until he’s 40 and he sees the time for retiring sooner: “I will be 32 at the end of the contract. I don’t expect to play until 38 or 39. With 32 years old, you’ve played your better years in football. Regarding the physical aspect, it’s a good time to stop”, Toni Kroos said to the newspaper Kicker.

Some weeks ago, Toni Kroos signed a new contract with Real Madrid. He admitted it could be his last contract, although his career is still long, so everything could happen: “I don’t want to commit with anything that could happen from here to six years ahead, but there are some changes that cannot be done. I don’t consider going to Barcelona. It’s a matter of respect towards the tradition and the supporters”, the German player said.

Toni Kroos arrived to Madrid in 2014 after the World Cup in Brazil won by Germany for a transfer fee of €25M. Soon, the German midfielder earned a position in the starting eleven with Ancelotti and he has never lost his role with Real Madrid, no matter the coach. In this time, he’s won the Champions League, two European Supercups and the FIFA clubs World Cup. Now, he’ll try to win La Liga or Copa del Rey in Spain.

In these two years and a half at Real Madrid, Toni Kroos has been very happy: “Real Madrid is my club. The last two years and a half I’ve grown in a sports and personal way. Since my first day I found a positive answer from my team mates, the supporters and the board”, Kroos said.

He also keeps a close eye to everything happening in his country. In the interview, Kroos also spoke about Leipzig amazing performance, currently top of the Bundesliga: “Mateschitz (the owner) could have bought three yachts or four private planes, but he has invested in football. There is no star in Leipzig that has cost more €30M or €40M. I’m sure people wouldn’t recognize three players in the street”, he finished.

Isco

Isco Alarcón has still to renew his contract with Real Madrid, expiring in 2018. The footballer spoke recently about his situation at Real Madrid and he said there was no rush to extend his contract. His situation has changed in the recent times but there are also some other clubs interested in the Andalusian midfielder. Among these clubs is also FC Barcelona, who could try to sign Isco in a shocking transfer move.

According to the Catalan newspaper Mundo Deportivo, FC Barcelona are interested in the Spanish midfielder. The club has put the eye in the former Málaga player because his contract ends in 2018 and he has still to find continuity at Real Madrid. Besides, Isco is now only 24 years old, so he will be 26 when his contract expires, a perfect age to join the Catalan club. Then, Andrés Iniesta will be 34 years and he will be at the end of his career.

Isco would be the perfect replacement for Andrés Iniesta, who is currently injured and Barcelona supporters are missing him. It will be a hard transfer, because Real Madrid and FC Barcelona have not touched any rival player since Los Blancos signed Luis Figo back in 2002, starting a ‘cold war’ among both rivals.

However, Real Madrid and Barcelona are not only competing in the pitch. Both clubs wanted to sign Neymar, but finally the Catalan club put the huge amount of money to bring the Brazilian to Spain. More recently, both clubs have showed interest in the Portuguese raising star Gelson Martins, from Sporting Portugal.

After his superb game against Atlético Madrid, Isco has turned essential for Zinedine Zidane. The playmaker also did a good performance in Champions League and the supporters missed him against Sporting Gijón in La Liga. Now Isco will have the opportunity to show off at El Clásico on Saturday and show everybody his great skills.

Griezmann is a player that has grown as a footballer with the pass of the years. The Atlético Madrid French striker is currently one of the best players in the world and many teams are trying to sign him, but it won’t be easy. Griezmann did an interview in French porta Telefoot and he has confirmed which teams he would never go.

The young French striker claims to feel good at Atlético Madrid, where he has recently renewed his contract until June 20121. He is Simeone’s key player and one of the rising stars of La Liga. The former player of Real Sociedad is improving a lot with Simeone and now a days in one of the most complete players in the continent, being very important for Atlético and for his national team. “Le Petite Diable” was the MVP of the last Euro Cup played at France and with this prize, his name has been revalued a lot.

He affirmed that is very happy at Atlético and that he wants to continue there many years :”I’m happy at Atlético. We have a great team but it’s true I would like to win titles”, Griezmann said. When he was asked about the possible future in other Spanish team, the French striker shows a different attitude between Real Madrid and Barcelona: “I would never sign with Real Madrid because there is a lot of rivalry. In addition, the is a ‘nonaggression pact’ between Madrid’s clubs”. To Barça yes, there is no pact”, Girezman confirmed.

Regarding to other European leagues, Griezmann algo reveals a preference that separates him from PSG: “PSG is an interesting club, but Ligue 1 is not my favorite league, I like La Liga and the Premier League, but my desire is not leaving Atlético Madrid immediately”, the French striker said. Griezmann is a top player but it looks that he won’t sign with Los Blancos because of the rivalry that exists between the two teams.

After the victory of yesterday against Sporting Gijón, some Real Madrid players had received some critics with the poor performance they showed. Los Blancos could win against a team that is in the low part of the table, but we saw a really poor match of Zidane’s players. The defense wasn’t good, the midfield didn’t control the match when it was necessary and the strikers did not had their day, highlighting Benzema that almost did not participate in the game. Los Blancos will play El Clásico next week end and that must improve if they want to have a good result at Camp Nou.

Yesterday one of the most criticized by Real Madrid supporters was Karim Benzema. They whistled him insistently, not something punctual and anecdotal. Los Blancos supporters criticized him despite he scored the goal that gave the victory in Champions League match. Karim Benzema didn’t play good yesterday and his level is lower than the one he showed last year.

The French strikes is having one of his worst seasons since he arrived Real Madrid. Despite being one of Zidane’s key player, Benzema adds only six goals in the 16 matches he has played so far. If we compare him with Morata, the Spanish striker has scored eight goals in the 17 matches he played. Morata that is in these moment injured has not had the importance expected when he arrived in summer. We can see that now a days, the best Real Madrid striker is Cristiano Ronaldo.

However, the great debate Real Madrid’s fans have is who should be the center-forward on Zidane’s line up, the best scorer currently the French Manager has in his squad is Cristiano Ronaldo. Although Cristiano prefers playing in the left wing, when the Portuguese star has played as the striker and with Gareth Bale and Lucas as wingers, Real Madrid had made really good performances. Who should be the striker in Real Madrid? Benzema, Morata or Cristiano?
