The Spanish National Police have arrested three former Real Madrid players accused of leading an organization for match fixing in La Liga and the Segunda División tournament. Carlos Aranda, Borja Fernández and Raúl Bravo are the footballers linked with Los Blancos in custody at the moment, according to the British BBC.

This is the biggest police raid against match fixing in Spain, especially for the relevancy of the accused. In the middle of the organization the police put Raúl Bravo, former Real Madrid left back and also Spanish player during the Euro in Portugal. He was at Castilla with Borja Fernández, recently retired and playing last season for Valladolid, and Carlos Aranda, with a past in Real Madrid.

The chairman of Huesa, team newly promoted to La Liga and bottom of the table this season, Agustín Lasaosa. In total, there are 21 people involved and the club Huesca is in the spotlight. There are two games investigated involving this club, one last season in Segunda (Huesca-Nàstic) and another one in La Liga (Huesca-Valencia).

Besides, La Liga is also investigating the game Valladolid-Valencia, where Los Chés won the qualification for the Champions League. It was the last game as a professional for Borja Fernández, curiously arrested days later for this investigation. All Aranda, Borja and Raúl Bravo are supposed to have built a friendship from their times at Real Madrid.

This information put many pressure on La Liga. The tournament is always following carefully the movements in the online betting sites. However, this raid shows how difficult is to control this crime to happen. The investigation continues and now all these three players are in custody. There were registrations in Málaga, Madrid and Huesca, in an operation shaking the Spanish football.

There were other people involved and currently in custody like Íñigo López Montaña, Deportivo de la Coruña player, or Juan Carlos Galindo Lanuza, medical chief at Huesca. Getafe player Samu Saiz went to declare to a police station because he was on the papers of the investigation because he played for Huesca last season.

Some players addicted to online roulette casino

Although these players were caught fixing La Liga games, something completely illegal, some of them are fans of the casinos. Especially, rumours say that some footballers play online casino roulette ( オンライン カジノ ルーレット, in Japanese). For sure, we all know their affection for poker. Neymar or Piqué are big fans of playing poker and attending international tournaments about this famous game.

26th of May 2018. Real Madrid lifted again the Champions League trophy in the Olympic Stadium of Kiev, Ukraine, after beating Liverpool (3-1) in another magic European evening. Karim Benzema, Karius, but especially Gareth Bale stood up in the day Los Blancos conquered their 13th European crown, the third in a row. It was the end of the era, although many people didn’t know yet.

Only one year after that milestone, Real Madrid are torn apart. Los Blancos have finished one of the worst seasons of their history, only positive for the FIFA Club World Cup trophy and the Barcelona defeats in both Champions League and Copa del Rey. Three managers weren’t unable to improve the pace of the team.

On the grass in Kiev we could suspect the end of the era. After the final whistle, Cristiano Ronaldo hinted about his future saying that “it was a pleasure” playing for Real Madrid. One month later, he will sign his contract with Juventus despite all the charming songs from the Real Madrid supporters in the celebrations of the trophy in the Bernabéu stadium.

At that very same moment, also Gareth Bale expressed his anger for not having minutes with Zinedine Zidane. The Welshman, man of the match, said that he would have to think about his future if things didn’t change. They actually changed, but Bale couldn’t improve his performance this season and now he is about to leave the club.

And more importantly, Zinedine Zidane saw it coming. The manager knew that the end of the era was about to happen and he was not able to show the door to same players that made him unbeatable in Europe. Therefore, he decided to resign and leave the club one week later. 9 months after his decision, he had to come back to rescue the team and the club.

In this long and painful year for Los Blancos, the supporters had lost his star, Cristiano Ronaldo. But also many players were unable to keep their level after the Champions League and the World Cup. Although the terrible season in La Liga suggested that the team needed some refurbishment, Florentino Pérez didn’t sign many players in the summer.

Marcelo, Varane, Casemiro, Modric, Toni Kroos, Asensio, Isco or Gareth Bale showed us terrible performances during this year. Their level and market value have decreased in only 365 days. Luckily, they have the whole summer ahead to improve their physical attitudes and give everything next year to put again Real Madrid in the place the club deserves to stay.

Real Madrid have announced the extension of Toni Kroos’ contract until 2023, so the German midfielder will continue in the club despite the rumours. Besides, Raphael Varane has told the Spanish newspaper Marca that he wants to continue in the Spanish capital, although the French press published before his intention about leaving.

Zinedine Zidane’s revolution in the squad is still to come. We don’t know yet how many players will leave the Spanish capital, but there are two important footballers that will stay next year despite the rumours. Toni Kroos and Raphael Varane have secured a spot in the dressing room after speaking with Zizou about the future. Both have signed a terrible season, like all their team mates, but are willing to improve and continue winning with the club.

Toni Kroos has sealed a new contract with the Spanish club, extending it for one year. The German midfielder arrived to the club in 2014, after the World Cup, and he’s been one of the most important players in the midfield, together with Luka Modric and Casemiro. The continuity of these dreamt midfield seems secured, although new players should come and put some pressure on them.

Kroos has been one of the most criticized players this season. He’s been very slow and completely useless in the important games. Actually, we saw him many times on the bench or being substituted, something really unusual in his era at Real Madrid. For this reason, rumours talks about his exit towards PSG this summer, but he chose to continue with Los Blancos.

Another case is Varane’s situation. The French defender still has contract with the club, but some months ago the French press published his interest about leaving the club. He had no motivation in the Spanish capital after winning everything with the club and his performances this year were really poor. However, Zidane’s arrival changed the situation and the French centre-back is decided to continue in the club.

Since Real Madrid lost to Ajax in the Champions League they have been trying to avoid bringing embarrassment upon themselves.
They had already gone past the not so nice episode but Zinedine Zidane couldn’t take it anymore and he voiced out after the defeat against Rayo Vallecano to see if anyone would take responsibility.

The interesting thing is that, most people who use Betway Nigeria secure betting have been rooting for Real Madrid.

Gareth Bale was left out of the squad for the match against Villarreal and he told the press after the match to interpret it however they liked. Bale used to be an undroppable player but isn’t any longer. Zidane’s ability to take tough decisions will be tested especially if Bale tries to play the victim.

Zidane’s shaking up of the squad led to a passable performance at the Estadio Santiago Bernabeu which was probably watched by Betway supporters.

It was a half-full stadium and Real Madrid battled Vallecas and took the lead just two minutes in as Brahim Diaz set up Mariano. Together with Jesus Vallejo, they turned out to be the most encouraging Real Madrid players. Brahim is direct and was able to achieve a connection with the fans at Estadia Santiago.

Vallejo’s emergence came late for him. Many had believed that he was too fragile because of his injury nightmares but he has succeeded in showing that he is capable and that people’s thoughts have nothing to do with how he plays.

Vinicius is another youngster that has made an impact on the game. He provoked excitement in the fans with his warm-up the same way as when he was preparing to make his debut at the Bernabeu. He has already moved one step ahead of Brahim because he was able to form a connection with the spectators and most Betway users.

He was welcomed and his introduction brought a breath of fresh air. Although he made a mistake with his first ball, the crowd was fascinated by how he takes the ball and is always threatening with a sense of making something happen.

The viewers at the Bernabeu celebrated the simple fact that Vinicius goes forward. Once his tactics work for him, he unlocks defences and causes chaos in them causing an applause.

If it doesn’t work, he’s still invited to try again. Whatever is happening to him is the opposite of what is going for Bale at the moment. However, Zidane is protecting the two of them, one for deficiency and the other for excess.

Real Madrid players are finally on holidays, although they seemed on the beach since the double KO in the Champions League and Copa del Rey. Real Madrid supporters suffered another terrible game (0-2) this season ending up in a defeat against Betis with even Jesé scoring a goal. The public booed the team after the final whistle, showing them the anger after a terrible season.

Only Keylor Navas deserved to wear the Real Madrid t-shirt on Sunday. All the other players should be ashamed of their performance, another one in this awful year. Not even Zidane’s arrival changed the level or the attitude. Many things need to change this summer to improve the level. Even Zizou seemed speechless and angry with the new image and defeat.

It was a farewell game for many players. Starting from Keylor Navas, the best of the team and probably out of the club this summer. The Costa Rican is an example of professionalism and a great goalkeeper who gave everything for Real Madrid. Marcos Llorente, also in the line-up, will say goodbye. However. Zidane didn’t give Bale any minutes, so the Welshman couldn’t participate again in a football game with the white t-shirt.

The game itself was terrible. Benzema had the clearest change of the game but the ball hit the post. Generally speaking, Betis had the control with Lo Celso in the middle and they got the three points well deserved thanks to the goals scored by Loren and Jesé, former Real Madrid player who has to return to PSG this summer. Betis was able to beat Barcelona and Real Madrid away this season. The last club to do this was Mallorca in 2002.

Isco and Asensio were again substitutes in the match and their future is a great question mark. The Mallorcan born will stay in the club but Isco might leave, and perhaps the supporters don’t miss him, thinking about his last months in the club. The best news is that the season is over. Time to restart.

“It’s better to end up with this”, Zinedine Zidane said in the press conference after the game against Real Sociedad at San Sebastián that mean the 11th defeat in La Liga and the 17th of the season. The Frenchman has been unable to get a victory away from Santiago Bernabéu since his return. We could make a very long list with the negative things that have been happening in the last month, but we want to stay positive and highlight Brahim Díaz.

The Málaga born player arrived to Madrid in the winter transfer window for €15M paid to Manchester City. In this way, Los Blancos ‘stole’ a young jewel to Pep Guardiola with only 19 years old and a lot of things to improve. He played only 50 minutes with the first team of Manchester City this season, whereas with Real Madrid he’s enjoyed 317 minutes so far in 8 different games.

He made his debut on the 13th of January against Betis, but his next game was at the end of March, with Zinedine Zidane already on the bench. Since then he had enjoyed minutes in almost every game until last Sunday, when he scored his first goal with the Real Madrid t-shirt after a great individual play in a counter attack. But even before this net, he was showing a lot of quality in the precedent games and, with Vinicius still recovering from the injury, he’s the only one able to dribble and show something different within Real Madrid squad.

Even Zizou was asked about Brahim in press conference and said some positive words: “He played well, he’s young and an interesting player. We’ll see what to do, but right now he had minutes and he did well”, the coach said about the youngster. Because now the doubt is whether giving him on loan next season or keep it.

“I am very happy at Real Madrid and I want to play many years here”, Brahim said after his first goal with the club. We cannot be surprised about his words, but of course the playmaker wants to stay in the club. The risk is not giving him enough minutes to develop and improve in the top category, whereas in another club can enjoy playing with the best players.

What should Real Madrid do in this context?

After a terrible season with 11 defeats in La Liga and 17 in the whole year, Real Madrid need a revolution to get rid of some players who won everything for the club, but they are not able to give anymore of their quality. A renovation is needed, but according to the Spanish media, many stars will still remain in the club. Bale, Llorente and Ceballos won’t continue -the Welshman was again ruled out of the list against Real Sociedad-, but many others will stay in the Spanish capital. Marcelo, Modric, Kroos, Casemiro, Asensio or Isco are some of the ones to blame.

All of them have had Zinedine Zidane’s trust after his return. It’s uncertain the future of many of them, but for sure they haven’t shown their quality, either with Lopetegui, Solari or Zidane. One of the most especial cases is Isco’s. The talented playmaker was the star under Lopetegui, but he had problems with Solari and was left either on the bench or out of the list very often. Press conference after press conference, journalists asked Solari about his situation, but Isco remained out of the team.

Zidane’s arrival changed the situation but his performances are still terrible. We don’t have to point him out, as all of his team mates are also showing very poor quality during the last games of the season, but the Andalusian player should be trying to show the supporters and the couch that he is still a valid player for the future of Real Madrid.

The Spanish press published that Zidane wants him for the next season. Meanwhile, James Rodríguez should be back to Madrid, but probably to leave again the club. Does really Isco deserve another chance with Los Blancos? No one would argue his quality, but he has often showed a lack of professionalism and hasn’t ever been a very important player in the team.

Now the manager and the club need to Zidane which player deserves to stay in Real Madrid. Also it would depend on the offers and the quality of the market., but with Hazard’s arrival and perhaps Eriksen or other midfielder, it’s fair to ask ourselves if Isco would have space in the new Real Madrid.

Zinedine Zidane starts to make decisions for the next season. We already published that Bale, Ceballos and Marcos Llorente won’t continue in the team, and now the manager has told Keylor Navas that the chosen one to defend the Real Madrid goal will be Thibaut Courtois. The second goalkeeper will be his son, Luca Zidane, whereas Lunin will be the third one.

Zizou has always trusted Keylor Navas and his arrival opened the door to the Costa Rican, who has had a very difficult season on the bench with Lopetegui and Solari. The ‘tico’ won three Champions League titles being a decisive player but the club has always wanted a new goalkeeper. Last summer they signed the best goalie in the World Cup, Thibaut Courtois, who was the chosen one for the future of the club.

However, the Belgian player season hasn’t been as good as expected, same as the other players. Keylor Navas had fewer opportunities but he’s a great professional and made a good job. Besides, he’s one of the favourite players of the supporters. All these things make us wondered what would be Zidane’s choice. Now it’s clear: Thibaut Courtois.

The club made an effort and spent a good amount of money to bring him to the club. Besides, he’s much younger than Navas, so it makes sense to choose Courtois. Now Keylor Navas has to find a new club, something quite difficult because he earns €5M per year and he’s 32 years old.

The second important decision is to choose the second goalkeeper and Zizou took a controversial choice. Luca Zidane (21) will be the Courtois replacement next season even if he has little experience at the top level. Andriy Lunin, signed last year and given on loan this season to Leganes where he was always on the bench, will complete the goalkeepers list in the squad.

Real Madrid got their 11th defeat in La Liga, 17 in the whole season, at San Sebastián (3-1) against Real Sociedad in another terrible performance by Los Blancos. The end of the season has been cruel and Zinedine Zidane has not been able to get a victory away from Santiago Bernabéu since his return. Only two draws -Getafe and Leganés- in five games -Valencia, Real Sociedad and Rayo Vallecano defeated Los Blancos-.

The worst thing is that it’s quite normal seen Real Madrid losing this season. And Zinedine Zidane doesn’t look surprise anymore. He actually said in press conference that the team didn’t play that bad, compare to Vallecas. But the reality is that Real Madrid could have been thrashed against a team fighting to get into the Europa League. Real Sociedad missed a penalty and shot twice to the posts.

The bad feelings started when Jesús Vallejo was sent off at the end of the first half, but before it wasn’t much better. However, the game started well for Los Blancos. Brahim Díaz, in the best play of the match, scored the first goal in a great counter-attack in the 6th minute after a great dribbling. It was a drop in the desert. Soon enough Real Sociedad started to arrive to Courtois goal and the got the equalizer in the 26th minute thanks to Merino. One minute earlier the Basque team found also the net but they were in offside. Just before the half-time, Vallejo was sent off due to a handball but Courtois saved the penalty taken by William José. Probably we saw the last minutes of Vallejo with the Real Madrid t-shirt.

Things went worse in the second half. Asensio and Isco signed another terrible performance -how many this season?- whereas Real Sociedad continued arriving with danger to the goal. Marcelo’s mistake allowed Zubeldia to score his first goal with the Real Sociedad t-shirt after over 100 matches. In the 67th minute, the youngster Barrenetxea also scored his first goal with the first team sealing Real Sociedad victory.

Meanwhile, Los Blancos were unable to create any danger and ended the game in a terrible way. Weekend after weekend we are getting ashamed of the terrible performances. Without Zidane on the bench, Bernabéu stadium will be on flames. Summer is near and so new players and new hopes.

LEGANES, SPAIN - FEBRUARY 21: Gareth Bale of Real Madrid looks out from the substitutes bench for the La Liga match between Leganes and Real Madrid at Estadio Municipal de Butarque on February 21, 2018 in Leganes, Spain. (Photo by Denis Doyle/Getty Images )

The two European finals will be played this year by four Premier League teams, a historic achievement. Liverpool and Tottenham Hotspur will fight in Madrid for the Champions League throne left by Real Madrid, whereas Arsenal and Chesea will play a London derby in the Europe League final in Baku, Azerbaiyan. It’s not coincidence, it’s the end of an era where La Liga teams were ruling Europe.

We have to go back until 2013 to see a non Spanish football club winning the Champions League trophy. Then, it was a Bundesliga final at Wembley with Bayern Munich and Borussia Dortmund fighting for the European crown. Then, four trophies for Los Blancos and one for Barcelona. But even in the Europa League, 5 out of the last 7 titles were won by La Liga teams, with Sevilla holding three times the trophy and Atlético de Madrid 2. Only Manchester United and Chelsea broke La Liga’s supremacy.

However, things have changed this season and it’s not casual. Premier League are ruling the continent and it’s not only about money, although money is the principal cause. Cristiano Ronaldo quit Real Madrid leaving a big hole in the club and in the competition. Without the Portuguese player, Messi doesn’t have anyone to compete with, and the quality is lower. Besides, many good La Liga players chose to play in the Premier League to win bigger salaries than in their teams.

In the draw between Arsenal and Valencia we could observe the difference in money and power between the two clubs. Only Aubameyang and Lacazette have a market value of over €200M, impossible to compare with Kevin Gameiro and Rodrigo Moreno. The TV rights give much more money to the British clubs, but also the competition is better organized. While the whole world watches the Premier League games, La Liga struggles to reach Asia and other European countries. Besides, the English stadiums are always packed, whereas in Spain people prefer to watch the matches on TV rather than spending huge amounts of money for a ticket for a game with strange and uncomfortable schedules.

La Liga teams can bounce back, especially Real Madrid and Barcelona, but the average teams in the Premier League will have more power than the rest of Europe. However, these two giants also struggle to get the best players in the recent years, fighting with clubs or countries behind them (PSG or Manchester City). Either signing young players -Real Madrid- or spending huge amounts of money for players that are not stars yet -Barcelona with Démbélé and Coutinho-. Competitors are tough and this has only started.
