Real Madrid legend Zinedine Zidane has urged Gareth Bale to hand in a transfer request at Spurs to force a move to La Liga.

Over the past few weeks a number of Los Blancos players have spoken publicly about how the Welshman would be a strong addition to the squad.

Club president Florentino Perez has also spoken of his desire to sign the winger, and media suggestions have said the Santiago Bernabeu club could bid as much as 85 million euros for Bale.

Manchester Unted and Manchester City are also rumoured to be interested in the player – and Zidane said Bale should now force the issue.

The Sunday People newspaper quoted the World Cup winner as saying:  “I think Real Madrid have made their admiration of Gareth Bale very clear – and it has been made clear that we would not be put off by the cost of the player.

“But if Gareth feels now is the time to move then he has to have a private discussion with his club and express that he wants to leave.”
