The main headlines today surround the ongoing transfer saga of Tottenham Hotspur winger Gareth Bale. This story will probably rumble on for quite some time yet with five weeks left until the end of the transfer window.

Marca claims this morning that Real Madrid have offered Spurs £80 million plus £1 extra – a fee that would beat the amount they paid for Cristiano Ronaldo.

According to the paper, Spurs would be willing to sell if the fee was a world-record sum for a player, and that extra £1 would mean that would be the case.

The Spanish daily also carries quotes from the player telling Spurs chairman Daniel Levy he wanted to make the switch to the Spanish capital. Marca said that the pair had an agreement that if the North London side failed to make the Champions League last season, Levy could allow Bale to go.

Elsewhere, there is pre-match build up to the friendly match against PSG tonight in Gothenburg. New PSG boss Laurent Blanc, who replaced Carlo Ancelotti in the dugout at the Parc de Prince told a room full of journalists that he is looking forward to a competitive match.

In terms of team news, Asier llarramendi did not travel with the squad due to a slight knock. He will instead focus on his recovery to be fully ready for the US tour that takes place next week.
