The summer transfer season is fast drawing to an end but there are many deals to be finalised before the 31st August deadline. Premier League teams have already surpassed £600 million spent in the 2016/2017 summer transfer season and more cash is to be splashed before the end of the transfer season. However, not everything was positive during the game, because Cristiano Ronaldo faced a huge ban after the red card shown by the referee De Burgos Bengoetxea. Now, he’s being suspended 5 games, so he will miss the first 4 games of La Liga.

Cristiano Ronaldo made the difference when he appeared in the second half. It was the first minutes for the Real Madrid star in the new season. The Portuguese had more holidays than his team mates after the Confederations Cup but he showed he’s very fit to face the new season. He started the new year as he finished the last one, scoring very important goals.

In one of his first appearances, Cristiano Ronaldo took the ball, dribbled Gerard Piqué and put the ball in the net. It was the 1-2 after another goal he scored, that didn’t go to the scoreboard because he was in offside. Cristiano saw the first yellow card for celebrating the goal removing the t-shirt. Only some minutes later, the striker ran into the goal but he felt after a push with Umtiti. The referee whistled but showed another yellow card for diving.

Real Madrid players can be very happy after the start of the new season. Only some days after winning the European Supercup against Manchester United, they showed his superiority against the great rivals FC Barcelona in the first leg of the Spanish Supercup, winning 1-3 at Camp Nou.

Zinedine Zidane spoke in press conference after the game and he was asked about the referee, who whistled an invented penalty and sent off Cristiano Ronaldo: “As always, I won’t speak about the referee. We did a great game. What I’m bothered is about Cristiano’s red card. Perhaps there is no penalty, but the card is a bit hard. But we cannot change that, although we’ll try him to be present on Wednesday”.

The manager was very happy with the team’s performance: “With 10 players we fought and believed in the victory until the end. But this is only a game and now we have the second leg”, the coach explained.

Zidane was also asked about Marco Asensio, who scored again a great goal: “I’m not surprised about Marco Asensio. He’s doing great, he has quality, break the lines, shoot great… It’s not new. Zinedine Zidane didn’t surprise in his line-up at Camp Nou and he left again Cristiano Ronaldo on the bench, with Bale and Benzema in the attacking line. Mateo Kovacic was the big news, replacing Modric, who is suspended. In the Blaugranas, Deulofeu was Neymar replacement in the first official game.

The first chance for Real Madrid arrived in the 17th minute, but his shot didn’t find the goal. The playmaker was the best player for Los Blancos in a boring first half, with FC Barcelona also far from Keylor Navas goal. Isco was again the creator of the next chance of Real Madrid, in the 37th minute, with a shot from Gareth Bale. The half time arrived without clear chances in a strange El Clásico.

In the second half, the things changed. Marcelo crossed and Piqué scored the opener in own goal in the 5th minute. Real Madrid fans enemy gave a hand to Los Blancos. Barcelona reacted and could draw only two minutes later with a clear chance from Deulofeu. Only one minute later, Carvajal had the better chance without goalkeeper but Jordi Alba saved in the line after a great play from Benzema. The referee didn’t see the clear dive of Luis Suárez in the next minute and he pointed out the penalty spot. Leo Messi didn’t miss the chance and he drew the game after two great saves from Keylor Navas. The referee gave a big hand to the Blaugranas. But Cristiano Ronaldo didn’t give up and he scored a superb goal to put Real Madrid ahead in the scoreboard. Just one minute later, the referee was again protagonist, sending off Cristiano Ronaldo for diving, when he just fell after a touch with Umtiti. The Portuguese even pushed the referee, outraged for the decision.

With one player less, Barcelona were supposed to attack but was Marco Asensio the one who closed the scoreboard with another superb goal to nail the result. Real Madrid won the second official game in the season and the El Clásico, being ready for another challenging season.

Zinedine Zidane spoke at press conference before the first leg of the Spanish Supercup against FC Barcelona. The French manager highlighted that he could do some rotations in the line-up, the importance of this title and other topics.

Zidane stated the press conference talking about the possible rotations he will do against Barcelona:”We are all in a good shape and very focused in the first leg against Barcelona. You will see tomorrow if I do rotations or not. Cristiano Ronaldo is ready to play, he is fine. He only trained a few day with us but he is fit to face the tie”, Zidane said about the possible rotations.

This will be the second title of the year after winning the European Supercup against Manchester United and this is what Zidane thinks about this completion:”It’s a very important title. The journalists didn’t doubt about asking Zidane about Neymar’s departure to PSG for an amount of €222M: “The player who will play tomorrow will not have the same quality as Neymar. Real Madrid have done an incredible season winning the double with La Liga, and the Champions League. This was a very difficult task, because Los Blancos had not won La Liga in the last five years and they are the first team who claimed for second time in a row the Champions League title. Now it’s the moment to evaluate the performance of the players during the season 2016-2017.

Benzema played very good 2016-2017 being the reference in the attack despite his numbers are not spectacular for a striker. the French player started the year with several doubts, but with the pass of the months Karim improved a lot. There was a huge debate during the season, if Morata should play instead Benzema, and the French striker made merits to be in the important clashes of the season.

When we talk of Benzema we must also name Zidane. The French manager has a lot of confidence in his compatriot and after a year and a half training at Madrid, there are no doubts about Bezema’s continuity in the attack. In fact, Morata has left the team team this summer because he knew that he was not going to be in the usual starting 11 and he decided to sign with Chelsea.

We can highlight the amazing game of Benzema against Napoli in the last 16 round of the Champions League. The French striker was a nightmare for the Italian defense, showing all his quality and being the MVP of the tie. In the beginning of the season Benzema received a lot of criticism because his numbers in La Liga were very poor, while Morata was scoring goals in every opportunity he had.

Real Madrid have not make any decision about the future of the youngster Achraf. The young Morrocon right back has been in the USA tour and his performance was really good. Achraf Hakimi is only 18 years old and he still doesn’t know anything about his future. It looks like, Real Madrid will wait until the Spanish Super Cup to make a final decision.

Álvaro Morata spoke for first time since his arrival to Chelsea and the Real Madrid former player gave the reasons why he left the team and how is being his new experience at London.

The interview started talking about his new experience at London:” It has been a very long and strange summer. The day I signed with Chelsea I travelled around all the world, from Los Angeles to Singapore and then to London. Now I have to adapt to a new team, with a very tactical manager like Antonio Conte. I can affirm that I’m already adapted and that I want to start to play”, Morata said about his signing with Chesea.

This will be the second time that Morata and Conte coincide and the Spanish striker confessed that his first choice was Chelsea:”I knew that Conte wanted mine signing. He trusted me in my stage at Juventus but he had to leave the team. When I noticed that he wanted to sign me I didn’t doubt and it was my preference”, Morata confessed about his departure.

Morata has been the most expensive Spaniard transfer in the history and the journalists asked if he was going to have pressure because the amount of money Chelsea paid for him:” I admit that is a very important amount of money, but I have enough personality to play calm. I have only played to games in the preseason and 15 minutes in the Community Shield, and after missing the penalty, they already want to kill me. It’ something that motivates means makes me work harder every day”, Morata said about his first experience in the Premier League.
