Real Madrid have announced in the official website the elections for club president and board directors, that should take place at the end of the summer if there is more than one candidate. The presentation of candidacies can be made from the 9th of June until the 18th of June. However, it is very unlikely that someone dares to present his candidacy against Florentino Pérez.

After this period of time, if there are two candidates or more, the Electoral Board will make public the date and the place of voting. In 2013, Real Madrid also announced elections but Florentino Pérez didn’t have any rival. Florentino Pérez started as a president in 2000, when he won the elections to Lorenzo Sanz, who had previously won the Champions League in Paris against Valencia.

Florentino Pérez decided to resign after a couple of bad season with the Galácticos team. However, he came back the 1st of June 2009. Since then, Florentino Pérez has had no rival in the presidency and everybody expects him to continue as the leader of the club.

The current president change the club and made it the richest football club in the world. He modernise the club, improving the economic and marketing areas. Besides, he has been able to bring Real Madrid all over the world and he has built a very strong brand. Now, Florentino Pérez is working in the refurbishment of the stadium and he will render Santiago Bernabéu in one of the best stadiums in the world.

In the sports area, Florentino Pérez is also living the most successful period in his career. He’s been able to lead the club in the last four years, winning three Champions League. It was very controversial his decision of not renewing Carlo Ancelotti’s contract only one year after of lifting the Champions League trophy in Lisbon. Florentino signed Rafa Benítez, but the boss sacked him only 6 months after. Now, Florentino Pérez trusts Zidane, the “best coach of the world”. In the following days, we’ll know if Florentino Pérez has a rival in the run for president.

Álvaro Morata

Álvaro Morata’s future is the most uncertain one in the Real Madrid squad. The player said after winning the 12th Champions League trophy that he would like to stay in the capital. However, some other sources say that he has already signed a contract with AC Milan to become the star of the Italian club.

The Spanish forward is now focused with the national team because Spain will face Colombia and Macedonia. After that, Morata will be on holidays and he will get married in Italy. One of the main reasons for leaving Spain, actually, could be his future wife, who is Italian. So this is another reason to choose Italy as the next destination.

Morata has a lot of offers to leave Real Madrid, but the club is trying to convince the Spaniard to stay. Zinedine Zidane also wants him to stay in the squad because he’s a very important person and he should have even more minutes in the following seasons. But Morata is impatient and he could decide to leave now to be the star in his next team.

According to Sky Italia, Real Madrid have rejected the first bid for Morata. This offer comes from Manchester United, who bid €60M for the striker. Real Madrid would like to get at least €90M, so they’ve turn down this offer. The Red Devils are trying to get a striker in the market, but Antoine Griezmann or Álvaro Morata seemed to reject their bids.

It won’t be easy for Milan to convince Real Madrid and Álvaro Morata. The Italian team wanted to offer €60M, but they know now that Los Blancos expect more money for the striker. Besides, Milan won’t play the Champions League, so Morata won’t be able to win again the European trophy next season.

Morata said publicly that he would like to stay with Los Blancos. However, the rumours about his future continue to rise and he might end up leaving the club. It would be a huge mistake both for Real Madrid and the player.

The most important sports newspaper in Portugal, ‘A Bola’, published on Wednesday in their first page that Real Madrid will receive a huge offer for Cristiano Ronaldo during the summer. It would be the most expensive transfer in the history, with €180M. The source doesn’t say anything about the team but the offer would come from China, England or France.

Cristiano Ronaldo is on his way of winning the fifth Golden Ball, so he will have the same awards as Leo Messi. The Portuguese star has completed one of the best seasons in his career, with two goals in the Champions League final, three in the semi-finals and five in the quarter-finals. In 2016, he was also able to win both the Champions League and the Euro with Portugal.

With all these amazing numbers and despite his age -he’s 32 years old-, some big teams would like to sign him for the next season. According to the Portuguese newspaper, this offer would come from England, France or China. Although in the article, the journalist doesn’t say anything about a clubs, these could be PSG or Manchester United.

Cristiano Ronaldo A Bola

PSG boss, Al-Khelaifi, has always kept a really good relationship with the Portuguese star. He tried to sign him several times, but he couldn’t make it and he finally decided to sign Jesé Rodríguez, a big mistake for the club. Another option could be Manchester United, his former club, after failing to sign Antoine Griezmann, who will remain one more year at Atlético Madrid.

The option from China sounds very unlikely, especially with Cristiano Ronaldo and his eager of winning more trophies. He could get a superb economic offer, but the Portuguese doesn’t need the money, but the trophies. Besides, Cristiano Ronaldo said several times that he would like to retire from football at Real Madrid and it’s very unlikely that Florentino Pérez would listen any offer for the Portuguese said.

Gianluigi Donnarumma could be the next goalkeeper of Real Madrid. Although David de Gea is still the favourite to arrive to the Spanish capital, the Italian footballer has also an option to sign for Los Blancos in this summer or the next year.

Donnarumma is only 19 years old and he has just finished his second full season with AC Milan. The big Italian club got the qualification to the Europa League after an odd year, because they started very well but struggled at the end of the season. Donnarumma was one of the best of the team, perhaps the best, showing his skills in the goal.

His contract expires in June 2018 and he has rejected up to three offers to renew his contract, according to the Italian newspaper La Gazzetta dello Sport. This situation has triggered the rumours with a possible transfer in the summer, especially now that some big European teams are looking for a top goalkeeper. Manchester United and Real Madrid are among them.

Besides, Donnarumma’s agent is Mino Raiola, the same representing Paul Pogba. Last year, he was able to talk with Real Madrid, but he managed to sell the French midfielder to the Red Devils for a record fee. Now, he also has a good relationship with Florentino Pérez, so he might be able to put the Italian goalkeeper in the list.

There is a big question mark with the future goalkeeper of Real Madrid. Keylor Navas ended the season very well and he has the support of the squad, but he made several mistakes during the season, opening a debate around him. Besides, the Costa Rican player said that he was going to compete with anyone, so he’s not willing to move from Real Madrid.

Florentino Pérez still thinks that David De Gea could be the best fit for this position. However, the signing would be very expensive. Now, Real Madrid bosses need to decide whether Keylor Navas is the best goalkeeper for Real Madrid or De Gea or Donnarumma would be a best fit.

Real Madrid players are officially on holidays. From the 5th of June until the 10th of July, the players can enjoy the summer with their families and rest after a tough season. They have a well deserved holidays after winning four titles this season: La Liga, Champions League, European Supercup and FIFA Club World Cup.

Whereas most of the players will have more than one month of holidays, Cristiano Ronaldo has to play with Portugal the Confederations Cup. This tournament will start on the 17th of June and the final will be played the 2nd of July. So his holidays will be adapted to his schedule. Fortunately, Toni Kroos has not been called by Joachim Low, so he could rest this summer.

Until the 10th of July, the players will be on holidays whereas Florentino Pérez and his team will be preparing the next season. The full squad will meet the 10th of July at Valdebebas and the very same day, they will catch a flight to the United States. The first eight days, the team will be managed by Antonio Pintus, the physical trainer. After that, the players will start with the friendly games.

Los Blancos will play again the International Cup against the most important clubs in Europe. The first one will be Manchester United on the 23rd of July in San Francisco. Then, the 26th in Los Angeles against Manchester City and the 29th of July against Barcelona in Miami. The friendly games end on the 2nd of August against some players from the MLS in Chicago.

Then, Real Madrid have to play the European Supercup against Manchester United. The game will be played in Macedonia at the Filip II Stadium, probably on the 8th of August. After that, Los Blancos play the Spanish Supercup against FC Barcelona. The first leg will be either the 12th or the 13th, whereas the second leg will be held three days after.

Zinedine Zidane is one of the protagonist of the season and, together with Cristiano Ronaldo, is the one who everybody points out to define the success of the club. Supporters, footballers and the president do not hesitate to flatter him as the main protagonist of the year.

“Zinedine Zidane is the best coach in the world”, Florentino said on Sunday in the celebration of the trophy. Before, the manager said that he’s not the best, but the titles speak by themselves. After only 18 months in the club, Zidane has won two Champions League, one La Liga title, the FIFA Club World Cup and the European Supercup.

Last year, Claudio Ranieri won ‘The Best’ award given by FIFA after winning the Premier League with Leicester City. No one doubts the prize will be given to Zinedine Zidane in January after winning La Liga and the Champions League together 59 years later for Real Madrid.

In all these years, we have never seen Florentino Pérez so happy with a coach: “Zidane will continue as the manager because he has contract and because he’s going to winning either winning or not. He’s been here 17 months and he’s won two Champions, one Liga, one European Supercup and one FIFA Club World Cup. I think no one has won all these titles in this time”, Florentino Pérez said.

The president is willing to give all the power to Zinedine Zidane, who will plan the next season: “Now, quietly, we’ll speak with the coach, who will plan the future and we’ll keep working so we continue beating records the next season. Zidane directs the orchestra like anybody”, Los Blancos boss commented.

Zinedine Zidane has now won four Champions League titles with Real Madrid. One as a player, one as an assistant manager and two others as a coach. He’s making history with the club, leading a project with a smile. He has the squad in his pocket and now he has to plan carefully the next season. He’s done a masters degree in coaching in only 17 months, passing every exam with great grades.

Pepe won’t continue at Real Madrid because the club didn’t want to offer him a new two year deal. The defender will join PSG in the next days although he didn’t want to confirm the news: “I haven’t signed anything. I could do it before, but I didn’t want to break the balance in the squad”.

The Portuguese full back was clear about his future: “It’s obvious that I’m not going to continue at Real Madrid. A period has ended and now a new one will start. Real Madrid manners weren’t the right ones”.

Pepe wasn’t happy with Zinedine Zidane: “I don’t want to blame anybody. What Zidane did with Real Madrid is amazing, but there are things that I don’t understand. If I don’t understand why I disappear from the team? That’s it!”, Pepe said in the radiostation Cadena Cope.

The defender didn’t even say goodbye to the manager: “I didn’t say goodbye to Zidane because Zizou and Real Madrid knew I was leaving before me”. He even defended Benítez: “I like a lot Benítez’s sincerity. I identify myself with him and he didn’t put me in the team at the beginning”.

The Portuguese footballer also spoke about the president: “This is a period that ends and I understand as a professional”. However, he didn’t like the behaviour of the club when he had problems with the Tax Office: “The club didn’t defend me from the Tax Office. They know I have everything up-to-date. And have you seen the club defending me? This bothered me. It hurt me a lot. I always tried to accomplish with my duties as a citizen”.

The player also had some words about the supporters: “I knew the moment of my farewell will arrive. People’s love is not seen in the homage. I’m sorry and the supporters have always been with me and this is the most important thing. I’ll keep all my life people’s love”.

Finally, he spoke about his feelings for Real Madrid: “I gave the maximum. I gave my blood and my sweat for Real Madrid. I’m happy. I learnt a lot. I didn’t feel mistreated by Real Madrid”.

After winning the double with the Champions League title and La Liga, it’s time to prepare the next season. Florentino Pérez and his team are already working to see the players who can arrive to the club and the ones who can leave. Among these, Pepe will be the first one because his contract expires in the 30th of June and the club doesn’t want to extend the deal.

According to the Spanish newspaper MARCA, Pepe will move to PSG and the deal is already closed. Unai Emery, PSG coach, wants Pepe in his team and the club has moved very quickly to close the deal with the defender. Jorge Mendes, his agent, has a very good relationship with the French club and the deal for the next two seasons is closed.

Pepe was about to sign with Inter Milán, who were negotiating with both the Portuguese defender and James Rodríguez. When the deal was almost to be closed, Unai Emery showed his interest and convinced the defender, who will be able to play the Champions League two years more. Now, Thiago Silva or Marquinhos will be his colleagues, difficult competitors to get a spot in the line-up.

Pepe had also a very good offer from the Chinese club Hebei Fortune. He could get the best contract of his life at the end of his career, but Pepe has always showed his willingness in playing with a top European club.

The Portuguese defender played for the very last time for Los Blancos in the derby against Atĺetico Madrid in La Liga. He got injured in the ribs and he had to be substituted after scoring the opening goal. Pepe signed for Los Blancos in 2007 and he has become one of the best defenders in the world with Real Madrid. Now, he will end his career with PSG, another top flight club.

Fabio Coentrao

Real Madrid players, staff and supporters celebrated the Champions League trophy on Saturday and Sunday in Wales and the streets of the Spanish capital. Surprisingly, there was one player missing in the party and no one knows what happened with him. This name is, obviously, Fabio Coentrao.

The Portuguese player travelled with the rest of the group from the hotel at Cardiff to the Millennium Stadium. There, the defender disappeared. He was not included in the list, but we couldn’t see him on the pitch celebrating the cup. He didn’t receive the medal and he’s not in the photo with the rest of the squad lifting the trophy.

According to some sources, Coentrao had physical problems and he might be sick. However, it is very strange that he wasn’t present on the grass of the Millennium Stadium. On Sunday, we didn’t see him in the Town Hall, in the Cibeles Fountain or at the end of the party at the Santiago Bernabéu stadium.

The speaker even said his name during the celebration but Coentrao didn’t show up. Coentrao had some minutes in the game against Sporting Portugal in the group stage, so he also won this cup for Los Blancos. In a very strange season for the left back, it looks like this will be his farewell to the Real Madrid supporters.

According to the Portuguese newspaper O Jogo, Coentrao is about to sign a new deal with Sporting Portugal. The defender will leave the club on loan to play in Lisbon, with the rival of Benfica, his former club. He only needs to pass the medical tests to join the Portuguese side.

In one of the best season in the history of Real Madrid, perhaps the only disappointment was Coentrao’s performance. The left back wasn’t at his best and he said in the past that he didn’t deserve to wear the Real Madrid t-shirt. He will leave the club this summer as European champion. Good for his CV.

After winning the 12th Champions League trophy, it was time to celebrate with the supporters in the streets of Madrid. Thousands and thousands of madridistas filled the streets of the Spanish capital to cheer their heroes one more time in a historic season. 59 years later, Los Blancos won La Liga and the Champions League in the very same year.

The first stop was the region of Madrid Palace in Puerta del Sol, the main square of the capital. Sergio Ramos and Marcelo offered the cup to the supporters and the president of the region, Cristina Cifuente, wore the Real Madrid t-shirt. After that, the squad went to the Town Hall, where the major gave as a gift some chocolate biscuits. The players cheered the present and we could even listen the “Siiiiiiup” from Cristiano Ronaldo, his famous yell.

Soon after, Sergio Ramos and Marcelo touched La Cibeles Fountain to put a scarf around the statue of the goddess. Thousands of people supported their players, who went in a convertible bus around the streets of Madrid. At 22:00 pm local time, the players arrived to Santiago Bernabéu stadium to close the party.

Florentino Pérez prepared a great party, with sound, lights and fireworks. It was better than a concert and everything was done with style. Then, it was time for the speeches. Sergio Ramos, the captain, took the micro: “From the beginning we knew this was a special season. At the end, we got an amazing double. Enjoy it , because we haven’t enjoyed it in a long time”.

Zinedine Zidane also spoke to the supporters: “Thanks for believing in us”, said the coach. Cristiano Ronaldo was also one of the protagonist of the celebration and everybody in the stadium sang: “Cristiano, Golden Ball!”. We could hear also some supporters remembering Gerard Piqué but not for cheering him up.

It was the best way to finish an amazing season. Now the players and the coach can enjoy a well-deserved holidays.
