In the worst moments, Sergio Ramos always shows up. The captain has the skills to arise in the game and saved the club. At San Paolo he did it again. When Real Madrid were suffering and Napoli were only one goal away from the quarter-finals, the Spaniard saved their team with two headers to reach the next round of the Champions League.

His legend started in Lisbon in 2014. In the legendary 93rd minute, Sergio Ramos drew the final of the Champions League against Atlético de Madrid. Since that moment, the captain has scored 21 goals with Real Madrid. In 18 of them, Los Blancos were losing or drawing the game. Therefore, he is the new angel for the Real Madrid supporters.

Now we can add two more goals to Sergio Ramos history. Both scored from corner kicks assisted by Toni Kroos. Actually, the German midfielder is the best associate for Sergio Ramos. The former Bayern Múnich player has given 10 assists to Sergio Ramos, 6 of them this year.

Real Madrid suffered to win at San Paolo but Los Blancos are in the quarter-finals of the Champions League. Zinedine Zidane spoke after the game and he was happy about the result and even about the game, although Napoli were much better than Los Blancos in the first half.

However, Sergio Ramos showed up again to save Los Blancos: “We had difficulties in the first half. They did a great first half, we weren’t accurate but we rectified and we played better”, Zidane analyzed after the game. The manager avoided to complain about the way of playing: “We’ve won and that’s it. 3-1 and that’s it”, he said.

The French coach made his analysis of the game: “We suffered a lot in the first half, especially at the beginning we didn’t do it what we wanted. They pressured very high and the stole a lot of balls. The second half was completely different. We played more in their pitch and we are happy with the tie”.

The manager was asked again about the first half and the bad performance of the team: “I’m not concerned about the first half, but it’s true that we can improve. We knew that playing in this ground and with the pressure they put you in difficulties. In the second half we played well”, the manager commented.

Finally, he answered some questions about the BBC: “I don’t agree with the opinion that Bale has not helped in defense, like Cristiano in his wing. It’s a problem for everybody that we didn’t start the game properly. Cristiano and Bale helped the defense”.

Real Madrid are through the quarter-finals of the Champions League after beating Napoli (1-3) again at San Paolo. The atmosphere pushed the local team and made Los Blancos suffered. However, Sergio Ramos showed up again and rescue Zidane in a very difficult match. The goal is accomplished.

Zinedine Zidane chose again the BBC in the front and the usual midfield. The only change was in the defensive line because Varane was injured so Pepe had to replace him. Napoli started pressuring very high, as it was expected, looking for Keylor Navas. And the Italian team was doing it very well, arriving with a lot of danger, especially with Mertens.

The Belgian attacker was the most dangerous man, always shooting and trying to score the first goal. In the amazing atmosphere of San Paolo, Mertens helped the supporters with the first goal in the 24th minute. The Italian side was only one goal away from the quarter-finals. Real Madrid had to react and Cristiano Ronaldo could level the game just after the first goal, but the post avoid it when Reina was already beaten. Mertens had also the opportunity to score the second one but he also found the bar.

In the second half Real Madrid reacted. Napoli didn’t arrive in the first minutes with danger. The key play was in the 52nd. Sergio Ramos, again, rescued the team with a great header from a corner kick. Always the captain arrived at the right moment. But it wasn’t the only time. Just five minutes later, again from a corner kick, Sergio Ramos scored with a header. Another comeback in 10 minutes. The tie was over because Napoli needed four goals.

In the last 35 minutes of the game almost nothing happened. Napoli was shocked and they couldn’t even arrive to the goal. Actually, Real Madrid had more chances to put more goals in the scoreboard. Lucas Vázquez, Isco and Morata came in and gave fresh blood to the team, finishing the game next to Reina’s goal. Actually, in the last minute of the game, Morata, former Juventus player and great rival of Napoli, scored the third goal. The champion is still alive. The quarter-finals round awaits.

Pepe’s future is still in the air. Zinedine Zidane said that he wants to have the Portuguese full back in their team and, actually, it’s very likely that Pepe plays tonight at San Paolo. The former Porto defender is now recovered from his injury and his experience makes him a great choice for the game in Naples.

However, Real Madrid are still looking into the market to find a good replacement for Pepe. Jesús Vallejo, currently playing for Eintracht Frankfurt, would be the first option because he’s owned by Los Blancos and he’s shining in the Bundesliga. But there are more options in the market.

The Portuguese newspaper ‘O Jogo’ published in the front page that Los Blancos are very interested in the Porto full back Felipe Monteiro. He arrived this summer from Corinthians and he’s always in Nuno Espíritu Santo line-ups. Actually, he’s also one of the main reasons for the great defensive skills shown by Porto this season.

Felipe Monteiro is currently 27 years old and he was born in Brazil. After playing four years in Corinthians, Porto paid around €6.2M for the transfer fee. He was able to win Copa Libertadores in 2012 with Corinthians and also the FIFA Club World Cup, beating Chelsea in the final.

Real Madrid expect a difficult atmosphere at San Paolo in the second leg of the Last 16 Round in the Champions League. However, the fans are going way beyond the normal things and they spent the whole night in front of the hotel making noise so they players couldn’t rest properly.

Real Madrid squad arrived on Monday afternoon to Naples and the hotel was already surrounded by Italian fans. They were booing the Real Madrid players or bringing pizza to Cristiano Ronaldo. The Spanish club, knowing that they could be disturbed, rented the whole hotel for the club, in the downtown of the Italian city.

However, they couldn’t avoid being disturbed during the night. Some supporters spent the night making noise with pots and singing songs, backing the team. They will also gather this afternoon to disturb the ‘nap time’ for Los Blancos.

The stadium of San Paolo will be opened 6 hours before the game. They want their supporters to back their team from the beginning, making noise when Real Madrid bus arrives to the stadium and creating an amazing atmosphere around the game.

Sarri warned after the first leg that San Paolo will be “hell” for Real Madrid and the supporters are backing their team, cheering them up in every chance they have. Nevertheless, Real Madrid players are not worried and Zidane or Carvajal said in press conference that they like these kind of atmospheres.

Napoli fans are convinced that they can come back in the tie and go through to the quarter-finals round of the Champions League. A scoreboard with 2-0 will be enough for the locals but it will be tough. Real Madrid already ‘survived’ in 1987, when they won 2-0 at Santiago Bernabéu and drew (1-1) at San Paolo. Then, they could see a banner with the letters: “Welcome bastards”.

Real Madrid are already prepared to face Napoli in the second leg of the Last 16 Rounf of the Champions League. Despite the good result obtained at Santiago Bernabéu, Los Blancos will suffer in Italy, with all the fans supporting their team.

Zinedine Zidane spoke with Daniel Carvajal in press conference at San Paolo in the evening and the manager warned about the good form of the Italian team at home: “We know it’s going to be a tough game, like always in the Champions League. This team has lost very few games at home. We know the difficulty of the game but we are ready to face it”.

The city of Naples is with this team and they expect an amazing atmosphere at San Paolo: “As a player it wasn’t easy, it’s a ground where the supporters are backing their team, very focused. But at the same time it’s beautiful, I like these kind of atmospheres, where the fans push. It’s beautiful for the team and the rival”.

Napoli won on the road in the last weekend in their trip to Rome with Merten scoring twice but Zizou is not concerned: “I’m not worried, I know we are playing against a great team. Tomorrow there will be brave players on the pitch. We’ll see a great game, the plan we’ll know tomorrow”, he said.

The French manager expects a brave team, attacking from the very first minute: “I think they’ll start with a lot of intensity, they need to score. This is a team that can pressure and then they can do other things. They know how to play”, Zidane analyzed.

Zizou didn’t want to give a lot of clues about his team: “We’ll try to play. It’s important to play our game and try to win it. We’re not going to handle the game. We’re going to suffer, but we’re ready”.

The coach didn’t want to speak about the players or if the BBC were going to play: “Everyone can have their opinion. What I have to do, and I’m happy, is having the whole squad available, This is the most important thing”.

Finally, Zidane didn’t want to choose among Champions League or La Liga title: “We are in both competitions and we want to win everything. The goal, being Real Madrid, is to win every competition. I’m not going to choose. We have to win every game”, the manager finished.

Real Madrid are already looking for a replacement for Isco and James Rodríguez. Both playmakers could leave the Spanish capital, so Los Blancos are having a look at the market to see which players could be available. And Florentino Pérez has put the eye on Eden Hazard, the Chelsea star who is shining with Antonio Conte again.

Eden Hazard was a target two seasons ago for Real Madrid. Los Blancos were amazed by the great season the Belgian did with José Mourinho on the bench. The Blues won the Premier League and Hazard was the third best player in the United Kingdom that season. Actually, Hazard was the best player of the world, obviously just behind Cristiano Ronaldo and Leo Messi.

According to the Spanish radiostation Cadena COPE, Real Madrid are interested again in Eden Hazard. This would be a target for the next season if Isco or James Rodríguez leave the club. The Spaniard might not renew his contract with Los Blancos and big clubs like Juventus are already targeting him. James Rodríguez has a lot of options to leave the club as well. The Colombian said in December that he would listen to offers if he has no opportunities with Real Madrid. If a good offer arrives, Florentino Pérez could sell him as well.

If both players leave, there will be room for another playmaker. This is where the name of Eden Hazard arise. The 26 year-old playmaker is shining again with Antonio Conte on the bench. The Belgian has won confidence this season and he has scored 10 goals in the Premier League season so far. He’s been one of the best players with the Blues, and together with Diego Costa they are a threat for every single team.

The former Lille midfielder played two great season with Chelsea in the 2013-14 and 1014-15. In both seasons he scored 14 goals with the blue t-shirt, although his best season was with Lille in the 2011-12, when he scored 20 times.

If Los Blancos want to sign Hazard, they’d have to spend a huge amount of money. Abramovich bought the playmaker in 2012 for €40M. So if Florentino Pérez wants him on board, perhaps it would be as expensive as James Rodríguez.

Juventus are very interested in one of the most talent player in Real Madrid. The Italian side are willing to offer an amount of €32M for the signing of Isco Alarcón. The Andalusian playmaker is not having many minutes in the last games and that is why Isco has opened the doors to an hypothetical Real Madrid departure. James Rodríguez is playing currently more minutes than the Spaniard midfielder and now it’s even more difficult to enter in Zidane’s line-up.
