During the season we’re able to enjoy many meetings between Real Madrid and Barcelona with the pitch as a battlefield. On the contrary, during the summer, the battlefield is the office and Florentino Pérez and Josep Maria Bartomeu are the players here. The last war was triggered because of Dani Ceballos, a target for Real Madrid and Barcelona.

Dani Ceballos shone in the European Championship U-21 in Poland and he also played great in the last games of the season with Betis. Real Madrid, FC Barcelona and Atlético Madrid were following the player but the two giants have accelerated to get him on board.

Now, FC Barcelona seemed closer to sign him. Lorenzo Serra Ferrer, former FC Barcelona manager and now working for Betis, said that he wrote some positive reports about Dani Ceballos for the Catalan club. FC Barcelona want to sign some midfielder in the summer and, although they are chasing PSG player Marco Verratti, Dani Ceballos has become a priority.

Besides, Barcelona don’t want to lose another youngster, as they did with Marco Asensio. The Catalan bosses are still angry after losing the opportunity to sign the young Mallorca winger. For this reason, they are focused on getting Dani Ceballos on board.

The price is quite affordable for both clubs, €15M, so they only need to convince the player. Dani Ceballos might have more options to have more minutes at FC Barcelona, giving the competitors in the squad. However, he published some offensive tweets about Catalonia and FC Barcelona in the past that could be seen very negatively by Barça fans.

Meanwhile, Real Madrid will try to convince Ceballos that the best option would be joining the club. He keeps very good relationship with his team-mates in the Spanish national team under 21 Marco Asensio, Marcos Llorente and Jesús Vallejo. Perhaps, this can also make a difference in the decision.

Álvaro Morata

Álvaro Morata has made a decision and he’ll leave Real Madrid this summer. While he’s enjoying his honeymoon with his wife Alice Campello, his father and his agent, Juanma López, visited Real Madrid offices on Monday to negotiate the departure of the striker.

Both went to Santiago Bernabéu stadium with a Manchester United offer. The Red Devils are bidding €70M for the Spanish striker but Los Blancos have rejected this offer as they expect to get €90M for the Spaniard. Although the agreement seemed far to be sealed, both parties are now close and the deal could be closed in the next 72 hours.

José Mourinho called Álvaro Morata to convince him to play at Manchester United next season. Morata made his debut at Real Madrid with the Portuguese coach in 2010 and now his decided to play again with Mou. The Spanish striker is seeking the minutes he didn’t have this season with Zinedine Zidane with his mind thinking in the Russian World Cup next summer.

Manchester United start the pre-season on the 9th of July and Mourinho would like to have Morata ready by then. Zlatan Ibrahimovic is injured, so the Spaniard is the perfect replacement for the former FC Barcelona player. Morata could play against Real Madrid this summer, as both teams meet in the European Supercup.

Real Madrid wanted to wait to sell any player until they know Cristiano Ronaldo’s decision about his future. The Portuguese hasn’t talked yet after the Confederations Cup, but Florentino Pérez expects him to continue at the club. If Cristiano remains, Morata and James Rodríguez could leave, but Real Madrid want to cash a lot of money.

Álvaro Morata was a very important player this season but he had to stay on the bench in the key games. He could only play some minutes in the Champions League final and this lack of opportunities made him take the decision of leaving the club. Morata only arrived to Real Madrid last summer after two seasons at Juventus, where he also struggle to be in the line-up. We’ll see if he has more luck at Manchester.

The story of Gianluigi Donnarumma is difficult to understand, unless we know that his agent is Mino Raiola, the same one able to bring Paul Pogba to Old Trafford. Some days after they announced that the goalkeeper won’t renew his contract with AC Milan, expiring in June 2018, now they are able to sign a new deal until 2022.

When Donnarumma refused to sign his renewal deal, many European clubs were very happy because they could target one of the best youngsters in the continent. Among them, Real Madrid showed a lot of interest because they could find the perfect replacement for Keylor Navas. However, PSG were also able to offer him up to €13M per year, but the Italian player rejected the offer.

Now, Donnarumma is about to sign a new contract with AC Milan. He’ll get €6M per year until 2022, when his new contract expires. The new release clause will be fixed at €50M if AC Milan don’t qualify for the Champions League or €100M if they get the ticket to Europe. The first one is an affordable price for the goalkeeper if Los Blancos want to sign him in the next summer, although the possibility of Donnarumma playing at Bernabéu is now unlikely.

However, until the agreement is made official the plot of this story can give us another twist. Donnarumma had a foot outside San Siro and even his current club threatened him to leave him out of the squad one year, pushing him to renew his contract. If Donnarumma had left the club for free, he could have sealed a great deal with a top European club, giving even more money to his agent, Mino Raiola.

After this decision, the odds of Keylor Navas staying in the Spanish capital are higher. The Costa Rican goalkeeper said that he’ll fight against everybody, so his willingness is to stay at the club. Now the only option to replace Keylor is David De Gea, who continues in the Manchester United squad for the next season and he should be an important player in the return of the Red Devils to the Champions League.

Keylor Navas is enjoying his holidays in his home country, Costa Rica, ready to join Real Madrid in a few weeks to prepare the next season. The goalkeeper is very happy because he can train from the beginning this year and travel with his colleagues to the United States for the pre-season tour. Last season, he was injured and that prevented him for playing in the first months of competition.

The goalkeeper knows that there are a lot of rumours about new signings in his role, but he’s not afraid of De Gea or Donnarumma: “I’m very calm, really. I’m focus on what I can do, so I work to try to earn a spot with my colleagues. I only think about working and winning titles, but enjoying the day a day. […] I have two great colleagues and I’ll always fight against everybody, a loyal fight. I will never ask for something, because I never asked or need it. Whoever comes, I’m going to give everything, like I always did”, Keylor Navas said in an interview with the Spanish newspaper MARCA.

The Costa Rican player is already looking forward to the next season: “We’ve enjoyed a lot the Champions League, but we have now a pre-season and we have to work a lot. At Real Madrid we need to think about winning everything always. Liga, Champions, Copa del Rey… We want everything and hopefully at the end of the next season we could be as happy as we are now”.

However, the last season wasn’t easy for Keylor Navas (Read here Keylor Navas performance in the season): “Especially because of the injury. I had a very complicated injury and that affected me a bit. Then, there were a lot of factors that I had to fight against, but I keep the good memories at the end. We had three great months at the end and I stay with that”.

He also had to face several criticism after some mistakes during the season: “People will always talk about me, I cannot avoid that. In that moments I stick with God and my family. I tried to train well and make an effort. And I told myself that I had to keep enjoying, because when someone stops having fun is because he’s in a bad position”, Keylor Navas admits.

Finally, he had very kind words for Zinedine Zidane: “I’m very thankful to Zidane, I’ll always be. He gave me a lot of confidence and during the not great times he had always be there. Everything that happened this year and the last one, I owed it to him and I’m very grateful. There are no words to thanks what he’s done. When someone is in a difficult moment, if the manager gives you this confidence and tells you to be calm, it’s very important”.

Many European clubs want to sign Kylian Mbappé, the start of the season just ended, and Real Madrid are the favourites to get him on board during the summer. However, Los Blancos have many competitors, among them Arsenal, who joined the battle these days by offering up to €142M for the French striker.

According to the British newspaper Daily Mirror, Arsenal prepared £125M to beat Real Madrid in the race for the Monaco star. Arsene Wenger, who knows very well the French market, would like to have Mbappé on board and they’re able to make a huge bid for the striker. Actually, Wenger has already spoken with Mbappé’s agent to convince him about the gunners project.

Wenger signed Thierry Henry or Patrick Vieira in his early days at Arsenal. The French manager told Mbappé’s father that his son will enjoy many more minutes at the Emirates Stadium than at Bernabéu. However, Arsenal won’t play the Champions League next season and that might convince Mbappé to not join the London based club.

Arsenal are also in talks with Monaco to sign Thomas Lemar and they are also interested in the French striker Alexander Lacazette, although Atlético Madrid are very close to sign him. Former Real Madrid player Mariano Díaz just joined Olympique Lyonnais, so Lacazette could leave France very soon.

After signing a new deal with Arsenal, Wenger wants to relaunch his new project. Olivier Giroud and Alexis Sánchez could leave the club and they need to find some replacement. Lacazzete, Lemar or Mbappé could be their substitutes in the team.

Real Madrid are still waiting for Cristiano Ronaldo to decide about his future. When Florentino Pérez knows if the star wants to stay in the club, he could decide whether to go and sign Mbappé or forget the operation. The Real Madrid president already said that he likes Mbappé and he’s obviously a target for Los Blancos but it’s unclear that the 18-years-old player could have some space in the club.

Many clubs were fighting to get Mariano Díaz on board, but finally Olympique Lyonnais won the race. The French club announced the signing of the player, who was unveiled in France. In this way, the young striker joins one of the top clubs in Europe and he can play in the French League, a great tournament to show his skills.

Olympique Lyonnais pay €8M to Real Madrid, but Los Blancos included a buy-back clause in the contract, as they did with Álvaro Morata in the past. Mariano Díaz is one of the strikers with brilliant future in the continent and Real Madrid cannot let him go without the opportunity to tie him for the future. The striker signs a contract until 2022 and he will have the number 11 in his t-shirt.

“Mariano was one of our priorities. We are very happy because he’s here”, Olympique Lyonnais president Jean-Michel Aulas said in press conference. The former Real Madrid player was also very happy after the deal: “One of the reasons of coming here is that Lyon is one of the best clubs in France. I have the chance to show my value”. He set the goal: “The goal is overtake PSG and arrive very far in Europe”, Mariano said.

According to the Lyonnais bosses, Zinedine Zidane was very important in the deal: “Zidane helped us with the transfer. We expect this as a great success for him and for us”, the French bosses said in the unveiling”.

Many clubs were interested in getting Mariano on board but Real Madrid set a price of €8M. For this reasons, some La Liga clubs discard the operation and some other bigger clubs in Europe like Olympique Lyonnais showed more interest. He also had a lot of offers to leave the club in winter, but the player refused to go on loan to any club.

Mariano Díaz didn’t have many opportunities this season. The Dominican Republic striker played 13 games this season, scoring 5 goals. However, he’s shown great skills since he arrived to Madrid and he could be able to succeed in a competitive league like the French championship.

Now, the website transfermarkt, especialized in the transfer market, published a report with the most valuable squads all over the world. Los Blancos are also leaders in this table, beating FC Barcelona or Bayern Múnich.

According to transfermarkt, Real Madrid squad value is €783,3M. Los Blancos started the season with the value of €764,3M, but after this successful year, the price of the players has increased. The second in this list is FC Barcelona with €733M, followed by Bayern Munich (€566,1M) and Manchester City (€553,2M).

Zidane’s arrival was very good news for Real Madrid. Apart from the titles he’s won in the club, the value of the squad has also increased. At the beginning of 2016, the value was €722,8M and now €783,3M, so the squad is now more expensive with a difference of €60.5M.

The most valuable player is Cristiano Ronaldo, with a price of €100M, followed by Gareth Bale (€80M) and Karim Benzema (€60M). So only the BBC has a price of €240M. The player whose value has increased the most from the beginning of the season is Toni Kroos. Now, the German midfielder has a price of €70M and in September his price was €55M. Nacho started with a value of €5M and now he has a price of €15M and Casemiro started with €20M and now he has a price of €30M.

Having a look at the odds, we can know the possibility of a player leaving the club. Despite Cristiano Ronaldo was angry after the accusations of fraud, the bookmakers don’t think that the Portuguese will leave the club. You can bet he stays at Real Madrid with 1/6 odds. If he moves to Manchester United, the odds are 3/1 and PSG 8/1. Other clubs have less possibilities to sign Cristiano Ronaldo, according to Betfair. According to the bookmakers, it’s also very unlikely that Gareth Bale will leave Spain. If he stays, you can get 1/9 odds. Real Madrid have done an incredible season winning the double with La Liga, and the Champions League. This was a very difficult task, because Los Blancos had not won La Liga in the last five years and they are the first team who proclaims for second time in a row Champions League winners. Now it’s the moment to evaluate the performance of the players during the season 2016-2017.

This has been the best season of Nacho since he arrived to Real Madrid first team. The Spaniard youngster has done a very complete season, being many times in Zidane’s line up and having a lot of importance in the squad. Nacho is the perfect player to have in a team. He is an example for all his teammates  because of his behavior and professionalism, being nowadays a very important player in the dressing room.

Nacho has a great versatility, playing during all the season in the positions of defense, committing very few mistakes and having very good performances in certain games. Every time there´s an injury in the defense, Nacho could replace him and every time he has that opportunuty he does a good job.

He arrived with 11 years and now he is a player of the first team, a dream for every youngster who supports Real Madrid. This has been his 15th year with the white shirt and after many rumors during all the season, it looks like Nacho will stay many years more because his role in the team has changed if we compare it with the last seasons.

In fact, Nacho has been the second defense with more minutes during the regular season, only behind Sergio Ramos. With Varane and Pepe’s injuries during the year, the Spanish defense has gain a lot of importance, playing an amount of 2301 minutes in La Liga.

Marcos Llorente comes back to Madrid after a successful season on loan at Alavés. He played 32 games in La Liga, making his debut in the top-flight division and becoming one of the best youngsters of the tournament. For this reason, Los Blancos decided to bring him back home, although the bosses aren’t sure about his future. Will he have enough minutes to continue with his progression?

This is the question Zinedine Zidane is thinking about. Last season, the team had some problems when Casemiro was not available. Real Madrid didn’t have an exact replacement for the Brazilian and Mateo Kovacic had to play in this position. Despite the Croatian midfielder has more offensive skills, he adapted himself perfectly to the role. Kovacic is also very young and he could be one of the best midfielders in the world with the right timing. For this reason, it would be hard for Zidane to share the minutes between Kovacic and Marcos Llorente.

At this moment, no one doubts that Casemiro is the stopper of the team. The Brazilian was crucial in the last season and he even scored two important goals in the Champions League, against Napoli and Juventus in the final. Marcos Llorente would be his replacement for the less important games. The Brazilian only played 25 games in La Liga, so there were plenty of minutes for other players.

If Mateo Kovacic is the chosen one to replace Casemiro, Marcos Llorente should leave. There are many clubs interested in getting another loan. For instance, Llorente could be included in a deal with Betis in the transfer negotiation for Dani Ceballos. Both midfielders, currently playing in the Spanish national team under 21, could be the perfect mixture for Betis.

On the other hand, if Llorente is Casemiro’s substitute, Zidane has to find a new role for Mateo Kovacic. The Croatian player could be Kroos or Modric replacement because he has offensive skills, but Isco, James Rodríguez or Asensio will be fighting for these positions as well. This is a difficult puzzle that Zidane needs to solve.
