Real Madrid have done an incredible season winning the double with La Liga, and the Champions League. This was a very difficult task, because Los Blancos had not won La Liga in the last five years and they are the first team who proclaims for second time in a row Champions League winners. Now it’s the moment to evaluate the performance of the players during the season 2016-2017.

Sergio Ramos has been a key player in the success of Real Madrid in this season. The Spanish defender has appeared once again in the most difficult moments of the season being the captain and the soul of the team.

Sergio Ramos started the year scoring another goal in the injury time (93rd minute)  against Sevilla in the European Super Cup, showing that this was going to be one of his best seasons since his signing to Real Madrid eleven years ago. With the pass of the games, his level improved and we can say that he has been the best full back of the squad, having a lot of continuity and being a very important player in Zidane’s line up.

This season he has scored more goals than ever since his arrival to Real Madrid. He has scored seven goals in the regular season, two in Champions League (Last 16 Round against Napoli second leg), one in La Copa del Rey and one in the European Super Cup, adding a total of eleven goals. He has risen his first league as the captain of the team (in where he played 71% of the minutes) and he won his third Champions League with Los Blancos.

We can say that Sergio Ramos has been one of the best signings in Real Madrid history. He has several defects and he sometimes make some important mistakes in defense, but the great leader he is and the number of important goals he has scored, makes him in probably the best full back in all the world.

Borja Mayoral is currently playing the European Championship U-21 in Poland with some of his colleagues like Marco Asensio, Marcos Llorente or Jesús Vallejo. The striker could be part of Real Madrid squad for the next season, especially if Álvaro Morata and Mariano Díaz leave the club.

Mayoral left the club last summer going on loan to the German team Wolfsburg. His time in Germany wasn’t as good as expected. He only played 426 minutes in 20 games, including Bundesliga and German Cup, scoring only two goals. Besides, Wolfsburg played a very poor season, fighting to avoid relegation until the last minutes. Finally, they stayed at the Bundesliga by winning the play-off.

Despite this bad year, Zinedine Zidane has confidence in the Spaniard and he could stay in the first squad next season, especially if Morata and Mariano leave. Álvaro Morata has a lot of offers to leave the club and Mariano will be sold with a buy-back clause.

Real Madrid are receiving many offers for Borja Mayoral but at the moment they’re rejecting them. Leganés have shown their interest but Los Blancos don’t want to accept any offers at the moment. Mayoral has a really good reputation and he’s enjoying some minutes with Spain U-21, but he hasn’t been able to score any goal yet in the European Championship.

If Mayoral stays, he’d have a secondary role in the squad. He won’t be able to have as many minutes as Morata, who was very important in the club and scored 20 goals during the season. However, he will have more opportunities than Mariano Díaz, who only played 302 minutes this season.

At least, Zinedine Zidane has many option also in the forward line. We’ll have to wait some weeks to see if James Rodríguez, Cristiano Ronaldo, Álvaro Morata or Mariano Díaz leave the club. Once the club knows this situation, they could decide which players should be bought and if Mayoral has space in the dressing room.

Real Madrid bosses are decided to sign Dani Ceballos this summer when the European Championship Under 21 ends. The Spaniard is playing a great tournament and thanks to his show against Italy, Spain can play the final of the championship against Germany on Friday.

Dani Ceballos was under the radar for some months but now Real Madrid have accelerated the operation to tie him in the next days. FC Barcelona and Atlético Madrid are also interested in the player, so Los Blancos could miss him if they are not quick enough.

Real Madrid refused to sign him in the last years because they thought he wasn’t ready for a top club. However, things change and Ceballos played great this season with Betis, especially at the end of the year, and now he’s showing his quality with the national team.

Florentino Pérez is ready to pay the release clause of €15M straight away. However, Real Madrid and Betis maintain really good relationships so Florentino doesn’t want to steal the young pearl. The boss can pay a higher transfer fee, around €18M, like Los Blancos have done with Theo Hernández. Another solution could be giving away Marcos Llorente on loan one more season.

If the transfer is finally sealed, Real Madrid bosses aren’t sure about Dani Ceballos having space in the squad in the next season. Zidane have many midfielders in the team -Casemiro, Marcos Llorente, Mateo Kovacic, Toni Kroos, Luka Modric, Isco Alarcón-, so Ceballos may not have the minutes he needs to improve his performances. For this reason, Real Madrid could buy Ceballos and give him on loan to a top flight club, he could even stay at Betis one more year.

Florentino Pérez needs to move quickly because FC Barcelona are in wait for Ceballos. The Spanish midfielder could play in the Catalan club even the next season, because they have space in their squad. Barcelona will try to convince him showing that he could enjoy more minutes at Camp Nou. Nevertheless, some FC Barcelona supporters wouldn’t like this signing, because Ceballos published some years ago on his social media tweets against Catalonia and the independence of this region. For this reason, it would be a controversial signing for the Catalan club.

Cristiano Ronaldo started his holidays on Wednesday when Portugal were knocked out of the Confederations Cup. The Portuguese striker announced on Facebook that he will be travelling to the United States to meet his children. Now, Cristiano published his first picture with his new-born babies.

The star travelled to Madrid afterwards to start his holidays and Real Madrid expect to have a meeting with the player in the next days. Some Real Madrid sources are optimistic and they think that the player has calmed down and he won’t leave the club in the summer. However, everything could be possible because Cristiano Ronaldo has declined to speak during the tournament and we don’t know what are his thoughts at the moment.

For this reason, Los Blancos don’t want to start planning the season until they speak with Cristiano Ronaldo. If the star decides to leave Spain, Morata and James’ future will change because they could have more space in the squad. If Cristiano stays, they can continue dealing with Manchester United for both players.

The president Florentino Pérez was confident about Cristiano Ronaldo. The boss said he thought the Portuguese player will stay but he confirmed that he couldn’t speak with Cristiano because he was with his national team. This week they should be able to clarify the situation and then Real Madrid could start moving quickly in the summer transfer window.

Besides James and Morata, Mbappé is the other player whose future could change depending on Cristiano’s call. Florentino Pérez likes the player and Zidane spoke with his parents about the future, but at the moment there is no space for him in the squad. If Cristiano leaves, Los Blancos would need to sign a new Galáctico and Mbappé would be the chosen one.

Zinedine Zidane’s eldest son, Enzo, has signed a contract with Alavés for the next three seasons. Enzo Zidane leaves the Spanish capital to join Alavés, a club that played the final of the Copa del Rey last season and was promoted only last summer.

Now, Luis Zubeldía will be Enzo’s new coach.

Some days ago, we published that Juventus have shown their interest in signing Danilo this summer. Dani Alves announced his departure from Italy and the Champions League runners-up needed to find a replacement in the market. However, the ‘Old Lady’ has an important competitor because Chelsea are also in the race to get Danilo in the next weeks.

According to Sky Italia, Juventus already made a bid for Danilo, but this was rejected by Real Madrid bosses. The Italian club offered only €15M for the right back and Los Blancos paid more than €30M two seasons ago to Porto. It’s true that Danilo is not playing as it was expected but his value is not that low at the moment, especially after winning four titles this year and playing 17 games in La Liga.

For this reason, Real Madrid have rejected the offer without thinking twice. The club expects to get at least €30M for the Brazilian right back, but Juventus hope to get the player for a transfer fee around €20M. Zinedine Zidane and the club didn’t want to sell the player because they think he can improve in the future, but everything can change if a good offer arrives to the Spanish capital. Actually, Danilo said after winning the Champions League that he expects to improve and play better the next season at Real Madrid.

But not only Juventus are interested in getting Danilo. Chelsea are also looking for a right back in the market and they’ve put their eyes on the Brazilian player. Antonio Conte introduced a five-men line in defense this season with Victor Moses as the right back. The Nigerian player used to have an attacking profile but he adapted himself successfully the last season. However, they want to find an specific player for this role and Danilo might be the solution.

If Chelsea join the bid for Danilo, his price will increase. Juventus would have to offer much more money if they want to bring the Brazilian player to the North of Italy. However, Real Madrid don’t have a replacement for the former Porto footballer and they cannot face the season with Carvajal as the only right back. Nacho can play also in this position, but the Spaniard is the third full back of the team, so the club must find a replacement in case Danilo decides to leave.

Besides, they are also following an Atlético Madrid defender, Lucas Hernández, who could be interesting for the future.

Lucas Hernández is Theo’s brother, who has signed for Real Madrid after playing one season on loan at Alavés. Theo confirmed his signing with Los Blancos yesterday and he said he’s always been a Real Madrid supporter. On the other hand, his brother has renewed his contract with Atlético Madrid recently and it will be very difficult to sign him.

Their father, Jean-François Hernández, also played for Atlético Madrid and he put his children in the club. Then, both are highlighting as great defenders despite their young age. Theo is already tied and Lucas could be an option for the future.

However, Real Madrid star Cristiano Ronaldo has announced that he’s leaving Russia to meet his children, born days before the competition started. The forward lead his national team in this important tournament, but now he can start his holidays meeting his two newborn sons.

Cristiano Ronaldo released a statement on Facebook announcing his departure: “I’ve been working for the national team, like always, with my body and soul, even knowing that my two children were born. Unfortunately, we couldn’t achieve our main goal, but I’m sure we’ll continue giving joy to the Portuguese people. The President of the Portuguese Federation and the national coach have had today a behaviour that has touched me and I won’t forget. I’m happy to be with my children for the very first time”, the Portuguese star published.

Cristiano Ronaldo lived very special days in Russia while he was focused on playing with his national team. He received the good news of being father again, although he hasn’t met his sons yet. Besides, he also knew the bad news regarding his problems with the Spanish tax authorities and now he has to testify in front of the judge.

The Portuguese Federation released another statement explaining Cristiano Ronaldo’s situation: “The FPF president and the national coach were briefed before the Confeds Cup that the captain of the team, Cristiano Ronaldo, had become father. The player, despite the birth of his children, was concerned of staying working for the national team, a gesture that we want to highlight”, the statement says.
